Diablo 2: Resurrected brings back the classic action-RPG for modern platforms, and while it's gotten a visual overhaul and some other quality-of-life improvements, it's a largely faithful remake of a two-decade-old game. As such, you can expect it to generally be less friendly to players than Diablo 3--if that's your only exposure to the series thus far, prepare for Resurrected to tell you a whole lot less, kick your teeth in, and then make you walk--not run--away because you've run out of stamina.Fortunately, this being largely faithful means there are plenty of existing resources to help guide you through the many complex elements of Diablo 2, be it the complexities of the Horadric Cube, Runewords, or character builds. Here, we're taking a look at some essential tips that will help ease you into the world of Diablo 2 based on our experience with the original game and Resurrected's beta--it should be useful whether you're a first-time player or someone who just hasn't picked up the game in years and forgot all about the joys of Scrolls of Identify, Baal runs, and those damn cows.Table of Contents [hide]Pick a good starter classPick a good starter classYour first decision upon starting is choosing a class, and unfortunately, the game does about as little as possible to explain what it's like to play as any of them. Aside from a brief description, you're left to make your choice largely based on the look of each class. While you can always roll additional new characters, there's no swapping classes once you make your choice, so any time you sink into a character will be for naught if you decide you'd actually rather play something else. (You can, thankfully, make use of the new shared loot box to move items between characters--no more starting a session, dropping everything you own in town, exiting, and then returning with another character to move items.)Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

CD Projekt Red, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, appears to be hiring for a new open-world game. As reported by Gadgetcrutches, a job posting was listed on GameJobs.co for CD Projekt Red looking for an open-world designer to join the developer at its main office in Poland and "to fill our game world with believable and exciting content consisting of communities and events that players will encounter."The job posting seems like it could be for the next game in The Witcher series, which CD Projekt Red was reportedly planning on developing after the release of Cyberpunk 2077. The developer also announced in March that it would be adjusting its studio's workflow to develop two franchises at the same time, with one of those presumably being The Witcher. CD Projekt Red has previously confirmed that The Witcher 3 was the end of Geralt's story, so a new Witcher game could star Ciri or someone completely new.The other possibilities are that CD Projekt Red is gearing up to make a brand-new IP or adapt something new. This job listing could also just be for working on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansions that are supposed to release sometime down the road.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While Titanfall 2 may have had a bit of a renaissance this year, another entry in the franchise isn't on the way. As spotted by Dexerto, Respawn community coordinator Jason Garza spoke about Titanfall at the end of a livestream, shooting down any hopes fans had a new game in the franchise releasing anytime soon, saying, "There's nothing. There's nothing there."Garza went on to say that "We've got too many other games in the works right now." Those other games are likely whatever Respawn has cooking for the Star Wars: Jedi franchise and Apex Legends. Along with constantly being updated, the battle royale title is also facing its own suite of problems at the moment, mostly stemming from its servers. However, Respawn hasn't completely abandoned Titanfall. When one viewer commented that they were going to give up on the games being fixed, Garza explained that Respawn is "still working on the current situation, but as always, can't really telegraph those moves publicly." The current situation referenced by Garza is the ongoing DDOS attack that has largely left Titanfall 1 and 2 unplayable on PC. The attack is allegedly coming from a group of hackers looking to raise awareness for Titanfall's multiplayer. Currently, the Titanfall games only have one or two developers working on them at a time.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Respawn Entertainment's massively popular free-to-play battle royale Apex Legends is available across pretty much every platform, including PC, the system requirements for which are outlined below. On PC, the hero-based shooter is available through both EA's own storefront, Origin, and through Steam, offering cross-progression between the two launchers and cross-play between PC and console.Apex Legends' minimum system requirements are considerably low, allowing players with relatively weak machines to get in on the action. The free-to-play title was likely developed with the intention of letting as many players as possible download and play. The minimum specs for Apex Legends comes in under one of its competitors, Fortnite, and even comes in with a lower minimum requirement in some regards than Respawn Entertainment's own Titanfall 2, which was released in 2016.The recommended requirements for Apex Legends aren't too much higher than the minimum requirements, seeing higher needs in the CPU, RAM, and graphics card. Considering that Apex Legends can run on the last-gen consoles and the Nintendo Switch, it shouldn't come as a surprise that low-end PCs can run it. Those looking to push Apex Legends to its limits with high frame rates will want to have a fairly beefy machine, but that's the case for most first-person shooters.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Halo Infinite marks a big change for the sci-fi series in terms of player progression for multiplayer, with the game focusing exclusively on encouraging players to advance through a battle pass-based system. There is no per-match XP and there will not be a separate XP progression system outside of the battle pass at launch. In the September edition of Inside Infinite, 343 Industries responded to the feedback about this, saying it is "actively exploring" giving players more weapons to progress through multiplayer beyond the battle pass alone."We have heard community feedback around wanting more progression options including things like 'match XP' to feed into the Battle Pass and an entirely separate, incremental system along the lines of earning SR152 in Halo 5: Guardians," 343 said. "Expanding multiplayer progression offerings is something the team is actively exploring, and we look forward to continuing to evolve the experience in future seasons post-launch."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A beta for Halo Infinite's bigger-than-ever Big Team Battle mode is coming up later this month, and now 343 Industries has shared some new insight into what fans can expect from the mode overall.Starting off with the studio's design philosophy for BTB, which expands the player count to 12v12, lead multiplayer designer Andrew Witts said in the newest installment of the Inside Infinite series that there are three main pillars. These include "embrace the Spartan battle fantasy," "Empower player types to thrive," and "Unleash the Halo Infinite sandbox." Here is a rundown of each, as explained by Witts:Embrace the Spartan Battle Fantasy – We want players to really feel like they are within a Spartan unit pushing through the battlefield and capturing objectives as a team. That’s why we’ve invested in things like Pelican Drops, Commander mode VO, Weapon Pods falling from the sky to resupply the field and a few more dynamic elements – we wanted it to feel like an active battle inside the Halo universe. Additionally, we wanted maps to feel like they were a part of an iconic battle within the Halo universe.Empower Player Types to Thrive – There are many different types of players in the Halo ecosystem. Some players are pilots, others are slayers or objective hunters, but we wanted all of them to work together in this BTB experience. [Senior multiplayer designer Fernando Reyes Medina] has a fantastic phrase that sums up this pillar well: Make sure everyone can feel like a hero in any match.Unleash the Halo Infinite Sandbox – This pillar kind of speaks for itself. We felt like the “big” in BTB was not just the number of players in the match or the size of the maps but the number of options at players’ disposal. All the toys are available in this space for maximum fun.In designing Halo Infinite's Big Team Battle, the studio looked back at some of their favorite BTB experiences and came up with "new twists" to put a fresh take on it.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In the clip, which debuted on Jimmy Kimmel's late night show before the full-length video was published later on (see below), Stewie runs through the reasons why it's important to follow CDC guidance and take the vaccine."The common side effects from the COVID vaccines are generally mild and last a few days. But do you know what can have serious long-term side effects? COVID," Stewie says to Brian, who is playing the skeptic in the video. Then Brian asks Stewie about what people could say to a person--namely, Peter--who doesn't feel the need to get the vaccine if everyone else around them does.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
