Splitgate, the popular fusion of Halo and Portal, might eventually be expanding beyond its arena influences. Sega will reveal a brand-new RPG at Tokyo Game Show 2021 on October 1. The teaser trailer for the mobile RPG shows a feather quill with ink drawing out the background and some of the characters that will presumably be in the game. The drawing ends with a watercolor visual of three characters overlooking a beautiful vast meadow.There isn't any gameplay footage, but only a few screens towards the end of the trailer depicting someone falling, a woman being stabbed by a mysterious shadowy figure, as well as another with a sword kneeling on one knee.The voiceover accompanying the trailer, translated by IGN Japan, states that the team behind this game took inspiration from tabletop RPGs. The symbiote will occupy one item slot in a player's inventory when picked up, immediately granting the wearer zero gravity jumps and the ability to re-deploy a glider during any high jump. When activated the weapon reaches out in front of the player wielding it, dealing 60 damage to an enemy and pulling them right next to the wearer. This allows for quick combos and easy eliminations, especially with a shotgun in tow.How To Find Fortnite's SymbiotesThe symbiotes do not appear in one specific place; rather they randomly spawn on the island when the first storm circle appears during a match. The locations of the symbiotes will appear on the in-game map, so first check the map to find where it landed and then make a beeline for that location. When World of Warcraft: Shadowlands' highly anticipated patch 9.1.5 arrives, it will bring with it a much beloved feature from the game's popular Legion expansion: The Mage Tower.Originally introduced in patch 7.2, the Mage Tower was shut down following the arrival of WoW's Battle for Azeroth expansion, effectively locking away all of its unique rewards. The feature will return to the game as part of a rotating Legion timewalking weekly event in which players can queue for dungeons from the Legion expansion and earn current-level rewards.The Mage Tower will function much as it did when it was first introduced, with players being presented a number of challenging solo scenarios based on their class and specialization to overcome. A massive addition is on the horizon for Call of Duty Mobile. The Blackout map from Black Ops 4's battle royale mode of the same name is coming to Call of Duty Mobile on September 22 as part of one of the biggest updates to the popular game so far.Blackout, fans may recall, was Activision's first stab at the battle royale genre. It was well-liked, but Activision opted to pursue Call of Duty: Warzone instead, leaving Blackout behind. The first trailer for Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin has been released. The seventh movie in the hugely successful found-footage horror series will be released on Paramount+ on October 29.The plot for Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin has been shrouded in secrecy, and this teaser doesn't exactly give much away. It starts with what seems to be a family gathering around the dinner table in an old house where the father welcomes home "our sister Margot."The trailer then shows the discovery of a dark, spooky tunnel leading deep underground, followed by lots of quickly-cut scary stuff, including a woman being dragged away by something unseen and the family acting very weird. The trailer also suggests that not all the movie will be in the found-footage style of the previous installments--but we'll have to wait until next month to find out exactly what it's all about. Leaked by PlayStation earlier this week, THQ Nordic has now officially announced Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, a remake of the 2006 game in which you play as an alien trying to kill every human in sight, again. Reprobed is in development at Black Forest Games, the German studio behind the 2020 remake of the original Destroy All Humans.Reprobed is set in the same time period and city--1960s in a fictional San Francisco called Bay City--along with other locations inspired by places like London, the Soviet Union, and Tokyo. You will even travel to the Moon because this is Destroy All Humans and it's wacky like that.For the remake, the developers at Black Forest said during a presentation that, in addition to better-looking graphics and performance--the destruction system is improved upon. Following middling reception for the series' latest releases, THQ Nordic has announced a new Jagged Alliance game with a different developer. Tropico and Surviving Mars developer Haemimont Games is working on Jagged Alliance 3, but it's early days for the project.Revealed during the THQ Nordic 10th Anniversary showcase, Jagged Alliance 3 aims to improve upon the tepidly received latest entries by attempting to refocus and refine what made the earlier games so memorable and popular. A representative for THQ Nordic said the team is trying to take the "best swing possible" at making Jagged Alliance 3 a game fans appreciate.The game takes place in a fictional world rich with resources and also complicated political situations (which is well-trodden territory for Haemimont Games from the Tropico series). 1999's Outcast was a beloved adventure game that won praise from critics and fans--we named it out 1999 adventure game of the year. Developer Infogrames tried to make a sequel, but the studio went bankrupt and nothing ever came from it. THQ Nordic later acquired the rights and today at the company's 10th anniversary event, announced Outcast 2: A New Beginning.The original game was praised for its open-world, non-linear structure, and the sequel takes these elements and expands on them for a modern audience. For those new to the series, the original Outcast put you into the boots of an ex-Marine tough guy Cutter Slade who was sent to a planet, Adelpha, in a parallel dimension to stop a black hole from destroying the world.The sequel picks up right where the first game left off. Something goes wrong on Cutter's trip back to his home planet and so he gets stuck for 20 years. He wakes up not back home on Earth, but still on Adelpha, instead. The people of Adelpha have been enslaved, and Cutter must save them. The game aims to separate itself from the pack with a "self-ironic, wholesome" take on sci-fi stories. There are so many dark and gritty sci-fi games on the market, the studio said, so it wanted to go in a different direction and make a game that was both more colorful in terms of its art and its tone. Everything Bungie has done for Trials with this revamp is excellent, and while it still needs one more big tweak, the developer said in this week's TWAB that it's already working to address my concerns.
