Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has revealed that he was a few pints in--"drunk," in his words--when Disney CEO Bob Iger called him to discuss bringing Spider-Man back to the MCU.In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live--which airs on Disney's ABC network--Holland recalled the fascinating story of how he helped save Spider-Man's MCU life. After the news broke that Sony and Disney could not come to terms, Holland said he was devastated. He asked for Iger's email so he could connect with him to express his gratitude about having the opportunity in the first place.Iger responded quickly and said he would like to set up a time to speak with Holland on the phone. Iger asked when Holland might be free to chat. "You don't give Bob Iger a schedule. you're like, 'Whenever, Bob!" Holland said. When Iger eventually called Holland, the actor was at his local pub with his parents for trivia night. "I'm like three pints in, haven't eaten much, and I get a phone call from an unknown number," Holland said. "I have a feeling, 'I think this is Bob Iger, but I'm drunk!' So my Dad's like, 'Just take the call, you'll be fine!'"Holland did take the call, and Iger informed him that "there is a world in which we can make this work." After more phone calls, and going back and forth with Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman, they got a deal done, and Holland said he felt thankful that both high-ranking executives listened to his thoughts about the future of the Spider-Man series. Holland was said to have been instrumental in helping the deal get done, and it all started by picking up the phone after a few pints. Also in the interview, Holland said even if Spider-Man never returned to the MCU, the character's future on film was still bright at Sony, with more movies lined up. At the same time, Holland acknowledged that "it would have been a shame to take him out of the MCU."With the deal now closed, it's been announced that Spider-Man will appear in at least one more MCU movie, with executive producer Kevin Feige continuing to work on Sony's Spider-Man films for the remainder of the new deal. The next time we'll see Spider-Man on the big screen is in the currently untitled third film in the Spidey franchise that opens on July 16, 2021.For more on the future of MCU movies, check out GameSpot's rundown of all the new movies and TV shows on the way. The Season of Dawn is almost here in Destiny 2, and as is usually the case with a new content season, Bungie is making a bunch of changes and additions to the game with an update that also adds its new activities. We already knew that Dawn would see tweaks to various character subclasses, but now we have a better sense of what else will change when the new season drops on Tuesday, as well. Destiny 2 News And Guides Destiny 2's Next Update Raises Power Cap, Tons Of Handy Tweaks Destiny 2's Eververse Store Gets Much Better Next Season Destiny 2 Stream Confirms You Can Ride Sparrows On Mercury Next Season Everything Coming In Destiny 2's Season Of Dawn PSA: Everything Leaving Destiny 2 In One Week The developer dropped the details in its This Week at Bungie blog post, giving a sense of everything we can expect from the update. First and foremost is the tweak that will affect players as they climb toward the endgame: the Power cap. That's the overall rating of your character's strength based on the gear you possess. In the current season, the Season of the Undying, the soft Power cap is 950, which is only accessible by getting weekly "Powerful" gear drops for completing certain activities. The hard Power cap, the highest you can get your gear in Undying, is 960, and it requires you to complete the toughest endgame content, like the Garden of Salvation raid, to receive "Pinnacle" drops. In the Season of Dawn, the soft cap rises to 960, while the hard cap will reach 970.Bungie is also introducing a bunch of useful quality-of-life changes to Destiny 2 alongside the new season, and one major one is a change to how Exotic Engrams work. These are rare, random drops you get as you play the game that give out Exotic weapons and armor, the best and most unique stuff in Destiny 2. Right now, Exotic Engrams give a random Exotic item (not including the ones you need to earn by completing specific quests or activities). Meanwhile, you can buy Fated Engrams from Xur, Destiny 2's weekend Exotics vendor, which gives you an Exotic you don't already have for that particular character class. In the Season of Dawn, Exotic Engrams and Fated Engrams become the same thing. When you receive an Exotic Engram while playing the game normally, it'll no longer just dish out a random item--it'll give you something you don't already have for that character. Once you have everything available to that specific character class, the engrams will once again drop random Exotic armor. That should make it a lot easier to fill up your collection without a struggle, while still allowing you to try to find the best possible stats for your Exotic armor over time.Bungie's making some changes to bounties with the new season that will make leveling up and earning certain rewards a little easier, too. The Gunsmith will now offer repeatable bounties, and his weekly bounties for completing Crucible, Strike, and Gambit matches will be simplified so that you don't have to do each activity every week. A bunch of Crucible bounties will have easier-to-fulfill requirements as well. There are a lot more little tweaks coming with the Season of Dawn, according to Bungie--including some improvements to the Eververse store that will make the premium currency store more transparent. Check out the full list of changes below.Destiny 2 Season of Dawn Update ChangesRewardsIncreased the drop rate of the “Scourge of the Past” raid Exotic weapon Anarchy from 5% to 10%The Exotic Engram and the Fated Engram have been collapsed into a single new Exotic Engram itemWhen opened, it awards a new Exotic if any remain to be collected; otherwise, it contains a random piece of Exotic armorNote: Contents are still class-specificPowerful and Pinnacle Reward CapsPowerful Cap: 960, up from 950Pinnacle Cap: 970, up from 960Escalation ProtocolEscalation Protocol wave 7 chest no longer requires a key to open Chest can be opened upon every successful completion of wave 7Each time opening the chest awards one piece of EP armor for your character class until you have the full setAfter full set is acquired, subsequent opening of the chest awards a random piece of armorCharged Decryption Keys and Key Fragments are being removed from the game; these items will be removed from player inventories Armory keys to spawn Valkyrie Javelins are unchanged and will remainEP weapon drops were not touched and are still cumulative-stream boss dropsWeapon ModsThe cost of slotting a weapon mod has been reduced from 5,000 Glimmer to 500 GlimmerFixed an issue where Ada-1 could grant duplicate weapon modsBountiesRepeatable bounties have been added to the GunsmithMerged strike/Crucible/Gambit objectives on the Gunsmith weekly bounty "Field Calibration" into a single objective that shares progress from all sourcesRemoved Valor/Infamy and Vanguard tokens from "Field Calibration" as there is no longer a requirement for any of these linked activitiesAdded new mode-specific daily Crucible bounties (one per day, selected from full-time playlists and active rotators)Reduced the completion requirements of several daily and repeatable Crucible bountiesRemoved grenade and melee bounties from the Crucible bounty repeatable poolStriker Code of the Missile (Middle Path)Thundercrash Increased base damage from 2,700 to 3,200Increased in-flight damage from 100 to 200Slightly increased the amount of time you have in the air after activationNightstalker Way of the Pathfinder (Bottom Path)Vanish in Smoke Added a short period (0.8 seconds) after the invisibility is applied where firing weapons or performing other actions will not break invisibilityThis should help prevent allies from accidentally breaking invisibility the moment it’s granted to them if unexpectedVoidwalker Attunement of Fission (Middle Path)Handheld Supernova Adjusted grenade charge time so it lines up with the animations and FX; this should make it feel more consistent to activateCrucible MapsAdded Rusted Lands to appropriate playlistsAdded The Dead Cliffs, Legion’s Gulch, Retribution, and Solitude to appropriate playlistsRemoved Emperor’s Respite, Equinox, Firebase Echo, and Vostok from all Crucible playlists These maps are still available for play in private matchesInfo from Gamespot.com

Destiny 2's Eververse store has always been a contentious thing among fans, as is to be expected from a microtransaction-based store. With the launch of the upcoming Season of the Dawn update, Bungie is making some welcome changes based on player feedback. In the latest This Week at Bungie blog post, a number of changes to Eververse are outlined. It starts out by acknowledging that certain items will still remain only purchasable with Silver--a premium currency acquired only with real-world money--as opposed to Bright Dust, which is obtainable by simply playing the game. "Offering some amount of Eververse content for Silver only is part of ensuring we are able to fund our ability to keep creating and maintaining Destiny and supporting the team that makes Destiny," it explained. However, Bungie is shifting the proportion of content that is Silver-exclusive. Whereas it says the current season has about 50% of its content also sold for Bright Dust, Season of the Dawn will see that figure increase to 80%. That means that only around a fifth of what's sold on Eververse will require you to plunk down real-world money to acquire it.In another improvement, Bungie is also going to be clearer about which items you'll be able to purchase with Bright Dust. In the past, players have been left to guess whether they would eventually be able to purchase a given Eververse item using Bright Dust as part of the weekly inventory rotation. Going forward, it will announce on social media which items in the weekly refresh will only be sold for Silver. That way, you can confidently purchase something you're interested in right away without having to worry about buyer's remorse later in the season. Destiny 2 News And Guides Destiny 2's Next Update Raises Power Cap, Tons Of Handy Tweaks Destiny 2's Eververse Store Gets Much Better Next Season Destiny 2 Stream Confirms You Can Ride Sparrows On Mercury Next Season Everything Coming In Destiny 2's Season Of Dawn PSA: Everything Leaving Destiny 2 In One Week Additionally, Eververse will no longer allow you to buy anything you already own. In the past, you'd have to either remember or consult your in-game Collection menu to verify if you owned, say, a given shader being sold on the store. The blog post also notes some changes to how Bright Dust is awarded. Completing Dawning weekly (200 Bright Dust) and repeatable (10) bounties will grant you just as much as Strike, Crucible, and Gambit bounties. The same will be true for Crimson Days once the Valentine's Day-themed event arrives."We're committed to continually and thoughtfully adjusting the Eververse store to ensure it's a balanced and optional part of the Destiny player experience while also ensuring that we can support the team creating and evolving Destiny," Bungie said. "Please keep the feedback coming, and thanks for all you do to support the team."These are just some of the many changes outlined the blog post, which previews the patch notes that are to come with next week's Season of the Dawn update. That patch will bring not just a variety of new playable content (and sparrows on Mercury!), but changes to each of the three playable classes, some nice changes to Gunsmith and Crucible bounties, and much more.Info from Gamespot.com

Concrete Genie is getting into the holiday spirit with a free DLC pack that will let you paint the town with Christmas cheer. The game's creative director Dominic Robilliard has announced on the PlayStation Blog that today's new 1.06 update--available to download now--comes with the Holiday Brush Design Pack. When you load up the game after the patch you'll be asked if you want to activate the pack, and if you opt in your in-game painting designs will have a festive touch added to them. You'll be able to toggle the holiday brushes on or off from the top menu, so once December 26 rolls around you can keep playing without a Christmas theme if you so desire. According to Robilliard, these brushes have been added to give back to the community after a successful launch, and is inspired by the families who are playing the game together. "We designed the game and its story to appeal to all ages but, in particular, we hoped that families could benefit from the universal themes and creative gameplay," he says. "This has been so rewarding to watch! We hope that many more families over the holiday period (and beyond) continue to enjoy everything that Concrete Genie has to offer."Concrete Genie received a 7/10 in our review. Reviewer Hope Corrigan wrote that "most of what Concrete Genie has to offer is fun and beautiful in a sort of childlike way."Info from Gamespot.com

The first scene from Warner Bros.' upcoming Harley Quinn movie--full title Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)--has made its official debut, according to reports out of Comic Con Experience in Brazil. Beyond the Birds of Prey trailer that debuted back in October, and the short teaser that preceded it, this is the first public footage that's been seen of the movie--and unfortunately, it doesn't look like WB will be releasing it online right away, so we'll have to rely on the accounts of Brazil Comic Con attendees to find out what happened in it.The scene features Harley Quinn explaining the status of her relationship with the Joker, The Wrap reports. “We broke up,” Quinn says. “Mr. J was super broke up about it.” She adds that she has a new place that's all her own, where she can reflect on her past mistakes--presumably indicating she regrets shacking up with "Mr. J" in the first place. The title of the movie has the word "emancipation" in it, after all, which is not a term you'd generally use for an amicable breakup.During the panel, star Margot Robbie reportedly revealed that she initially pitched the idea for Birds of Prey while filming Suicide Squad because she "wanted to see more female ensembles onscreen."Speaking of Suicide Squad, let's not forget that there's a new one in the works--though whatever you do, don't call it Suicide Squad 2.Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) sees Harley Quinn (Robbie) team up with GCPD detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco). It features the villains Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina), and it's directed by Cathy Yan, whose previous directing credits include 2018's Dead Pigs and various short films. Birds of Prey hits theaters February 7 2020. Until then, we'll be looking out for any new information that arises.Image source: Margot Robbie (Instagram)Info from Gamespot.com

Halo: Reach has just released on PC for the first time as part of the Master Chief Collection, bringing the beloved game to the system nine years after it released for Xbox 360. The game, which was brought to Xbox One as well and is available on both systems through Xbox Game Pass, was the final Halo game made by original developer Bungie before they moved onto Destiny. Many of the folks who worked on the game are reminiscing about it on Twitter using the hashtag #reachmemory, and some interesting information has come out about the game's name.David Candland, who designed much of the game's user interface, says that the original intention was to just call the game "Reach", without a "Halo" attached to it. Microsoft objected, insisting that the game be called Halo: Reach, for "brand recognition." As Halo was and remains a major flagship of the Xbox brand, this makes sense--but as Candland's tweet points out, they retained their simpler name on the game's title screen. We’d been calling the game “Reach” for a while before MS insisted we call it “Halo Reach” for brand recognition. I remember discussing the title screen with @game_fabricator. We concurred, let’s call it what we want. They’ve bought the game at this point. #REACHmemory pic.twitter.com/msCKV5IIR4 — David Candland (@drcandland) December 4, 2019As Candland told USGamer, this was probably, ultimately, the right decision. "I'll bet it did impact sales. It also made googling the game much easier." He also reveals that the cumbersome "Combat Evolved" subtitle on the original Halo was added by Microsoft, which is why it's not on the title screen of the original game. You also may have noticed there’s no “combat evolved” on the original Halo title screen. That was tacked onto the box logo because the MS marketing team feared some people wouldn’t know “Halo” would be a combat game otherwise. — David Candland (@drcandland) December 4, 2019Elsewhere on the hashtag, Bungie art director Jason Sussman revealed that the game's iconic finale (which we won't explain here to avoid spoilers) was nearly cut for time, but that "everyone knew it needed to be part of the game," and they managed to fit it in.The original Halo is returning to PC soon too as The Master Chief Collection continues to roll out.Info from Gamespot.com

Beyond A Steel Sky, the long-awaited sequel to 1994's Beneath A Steel Sky, has been delayed. The game, which was first announced in 2012 and was properly revealed as an Apple Arcade game earlier this year, was due to release before the end of 2019. This will no longer happen, developer Revolution has confirmed on their website, and the game will instead release in 2020.In the post, Beyond A Steel Sky is called Revolution's "most ambitious adventure to date," and it's said that more time is needed to "realise (their) vision" for it. The game is being made for Apple Arcade, PC, and console, and a release date will be confirmed early in 2020. The game's Steam page gives us some more details, calling the game "a dramatic, humorous, cyberpunk thriller in which engaging puzzles drive a fast-paced narrative set in a dynamic gameworld that responds to--and is subverted by--the player’s actions."The original Beneath A Steel Sky was designed in part by Charles Cecil, architect of the Broken Sword series, and Dave Gibbons, the artist responsible for the iconic style of Alan Moore's Watchmen comics. Both have returned for Beyond A Steel Sky, too. We gave the remastered iPhone version a 9/10 in our 2010 review, writing that "despite its sober setting, the game comes with a script full of laughs and lighter moments, and even the most inconsequential of conversations will raise a smile or hint at each character's own little universe."Info from Gamespot.com

Apex Legends recently received a major update that increased the level cap and introduced numerous other changes to Respawn's well-liked battle royale game. But amidst these big changes, one element remained the same - the dominance of the Peacekeeper shotgun, which remained overpowered after an earlier, light nerf. Thankfully, Respawn promised that the gun would be fixed, and after a very short wait a change has been implemented. The Apex Legends Twitter account has explained that the latest server patch curbed the shotgun's main problem--the pellet spread and damage numbers allowed players to score cheap kills with it. After these changes, that will be more difficult.Earlier today, we pushed a server patch, now live on all consoles, that included the following shotgun balance changes:🔸Decreased bolt hit size for Peacekeeper and EVA-8🔸Increased shot spread for Peacekeeper 🔸Increased spread on final Precision Choke level — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) December 5, 2019These changes mean that the gun won't be quite so deadly now, even if you have the Precision Choke equipped. While the gun is still very powerful, players will now need to have better aim to do the most damage possible with it. The EVA-8 has also had its bolt hit size decreased to deal with similar issues. These changes were promised in the 3.2 patch notes, and it's great to see them implemented so quickly. Players who jump on before January 14, 2020 can also get themselves a free Star Wars skin for Pathfinder. Info from Gamespot.com

Fortnite Chapter 2's Week 9 challenges are now live on all platforms. As usual, if you complete eight tasks from the set, you'll unlock a special loading screen that features a subtle clue pointing you to a secret item that's hidden somewhere around the game's map.Up to this point, that item was a different letter that ultimately spelled out "FORTNITE," but now that all the letters are available, this week's loading screen leads you to an XP drop, which is essentially like the secret Battle Stars from past seasons. If you need help tracking down the XP drop, we show you where it's located below.Where Is The Hidden XP Drop Location? As previously mentioned, the clue that'll guide you to the XP drop is hidden in the Chaos Rising loading screen, which you'll unlock after completing eight challenges from that set. The loading screen features a character gazing at different monitors. Look closely at the monitor in the middle of the image and you'll see the XP drop beneath the infamous purple cube that appeared way back in Season 5.As it turns out, there's a statue of the purple cube in the Kevolution Energy Plant, which is located in the northeastern portion of Steamy Stacks--that's where you'll need to go to find the hidden XP drop. We've marked the location of the area on the map below.Fortnite hidden XP Drop location How To Complete The Challenge Now that we know where the XP drop is hidden, make your way to the aforementioned Kevolution Energy Plant and the drop will appear on the ground near the cube statue, just as the loading screen teased. Interact with it as you would any other item to collect it and complete the challenge. As was the case with this season's hidden letters, however, the XP drop won't appear on the map until you've unlocked the Chaos Rising loading screen and its corresponding challenge, so you'll first need to complete this week's other missions before you can go pick it up.The first season of Fortnite Chapter 2 was originally slated to end this month, but Epic recently announced it would be extending the season into February 2020. It's still unclear if that means we still have more weekly challenges to look forward to, but in the meantime, you can find maps and guides for this season's previous missions in our Fortnite Chapter 2 challenges roundup. Adam Sandler is best known for his hugely successful comedies, but he'll occasionally stretch himself with a more dramatic acting role. His latest movie, Uncut Gems, has given him some of his best ever reviews, and there's now talk that he might get his first Academy Award nomination. Sandler has now revealed he has a plan to ensure that he gets that Oscar nod.Sandler appeared on The Howard Stern Show to promote the movie, and explained that would be a "funny big thing" if he did get nominated. If he doesn't, Sandler revealed that he would live up to criticism that many have for his more puerile comedies. "If I don't get it, I'm going to f***ing come back and do one [movie] again that is so bad on purpose just to make you all pay," he said. "That's how I get them."Elsewhere in the interview, Sandler stated that he was doing a lot more publicity for Uncut Gems than he normally does for his films. "[Directors] the Safdie Brothers and everybody worked so hard on the movie that I didn't want to do what I usually do and just go, 'Eh, I can't help you out there'," he admitted.Uncut Gems is a crime-thriller that follows the story of Howard Ratner (Sandler), a New York City jeweller intent on amassing more wealth, who finds himself in debt to some very bad people. It's getting a limited release on December 13, before expanding wide on December 25. In his review for GameSpot, Rafael Motamayor stated that Uncut Gems "is not a feel-good movie, but one that leaves you with the sensation that you just experienced two filmmakers and a star at the height of their craft."Info from Gamespot.com
