Fortnite has two new sets of challenges this week, each of which has one mission that asks you to search for a gnome that's hidden somewhere around the island. In the Rippley Vs. Sludge set, you'll need to search the hidden gnome found between Logjam Woodworks, a wooden shack, and a bucket tree. If you're having trouble tracking it down, here's where to find it.Where Is The Hidden Gnome Location? As the challenge clue states, the gnome you're looking for is hidden somewhere between three objects. Each of these is located in the swamp in the southwestern corner of the island, so that should narrow down the search area considerably. The easiest to find is Logjam Woodworks, the mill located in the western part of Weeping Woods. The wooden shack lies southwest of the mill, while the bucket tree--which is literally a small tree decorated with buckets--is southeast of the shack. That places the gnome inside a tree that's between the three areas. How To Complete The ChallengeNow that we know where the gnome is hidden, all you need to do is make your way to that area and interact with the gnome when you spot it to complete the challenge. Keep in mind, however, that the gnome won't appear on the map until you've unlocked this mission, so you'll first need to clear a few of the other Rippley Vs. Sludge challenges before you can find it.As previously mentioned, there are two new sets of Fortnite challenges this week. The other is called 8-Ball Vs. Scratch, and it has its own gnome-related mission. If you need help tracking down that one, be sure to check out our other hidden gnome guide. It was first announced last May that Hulu was developing a live-action TV show focused on the Marvel comics character Daimon Helstrom. While a release date hasn't been announced, Hulu came to the TCA winter press tour with a bit of an update about how production on the series is going."We're in production on Helstrom. I've seen the first four episodes of that as well [as the animated M.O.D.O.K.]," Craig Erwich, Hulu's senior vice president of originals, revealed. "I'm really excited about it. And it's definitely different corner of the Marvel Universe in terms of its horror."That's right, Helstrom is a horror TV show set in the Marvel universe. Well, set in one of them. It's still not clear if this or any of Hulu's other Marvel projects are set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or not. The series follows siblings Damon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon), the children of an alleged serial killer who are attempting to rid the world of demons and other supernatural horrors. Homeland alum Elizabeth Marvel plays Victoria Helstrom, the mother to the siblings that has recently completed a two-decade stint in a mental institution."It's a really unique take on a horror show that has a very unique family situation at the center of it," Erwich continued. It remains to be seen exactly how scary and graphic Helstrom will be. Given the subject matter, though, there's plenty of room to delve into a truly dark corner of the Marvel universe. As for when viewers will get to see it, Erwich wasn't prepared to say just yet. However, he said the streaming service will be announcing premiere dates for this project, as well as M.O.D.O.K., "very soon."More from the TCA winter press tour:Starz Boss Offers Update On The John Wick TV ShowFX On Hulu: Check Out The Release Schedule For All Your Favorite New ShowsAmazon Greenlights Jack Reacher Series, Has Big Shoes To Fill With CastingWheel Of Time Update: Amazon Is Hard At Work, World-BuildingHalo Showtime Series Update Includes First Master Chief Photo (But You Can't See It Yet)Picard Star Patrick Stewart Explains Why Star Trek's Popularity Never DiesStar Trek: Picard's Dog Means Much More Than You Might ExpectChild's Play TV Show Chucky Gets Series Order At Syfy--What Is It About?Syfy Developing Gritty Peter Pan SequelYoung Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Life Explored In New NBC ComedyTwilight Zone Season 2 Cast Includes Deadpool And Westworld Stars, Among OthersStar Trek: Picard Officially Receives Second Season Before Launch On CBS All AccessHBO's The Plot Against America Reimagines WWII With Fascist Leader As PresidentInfo from Gamespot.com

Between it's stacked cast and interesting "detective-forward" concept, Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman movie, The Batman, has fans justifiably excited. This afternoon at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Los Angeles, co-star Zoe Kravitz, who has been confirmed in the role of Catwoman aka Selina Kyle, was able to offer up a few updates as to the project's progress while promoting her upcoming Hulu series, High Fidelity."She's a great character. I'm very excited to play her. The script is wonderful, really grounded and deep and I can't say more than that because I'll get fired," Kravitz said. "The whole Batman world has always been the most interesting to me. I think Catwoman is an iconic character. I was never into a lot of comic books but that world was always really intriguing to me. And then, of course, Michelle Pfeiffer and, you know, her performance is always super inspiring to me. So it just felt iconic and I think Catwoman/Selina Kyle represents really strong femininity and I'm excited to dive into that."She continued, explaining that she believes "femininity means power and I think it's a different kind of power than masculine power. And that's something I think is really interesting about Batman and Catwoman. I think Batman represents a very masculine power and Catwoman represents a very feminine power, slightly more complicated. And softer too. I like the idea that you can be soft, you can be gentle, and still be very powerful and so very dangerous."Kravitz will be joined by Robert Pattinson as Batman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffery Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Collin Farrell as The Penguin, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. The Batman hits theaters on June 21, 2021.More from the TCA winter press tour:Starz Boss Offers Update On The John Wick TV ShowFX On Hulu: Check Out The Release Schedule For All Your Favorite New ShowsAmazon Greenlights Jack Reacher Series, Has Big Shoes To Fill With CastingWheel Of Time Update: Amazon Is Hard At Work, World-BuildingHalo Showtime Series Update Includes First Master Chief Photo (But You Can't See It Yet)Picard Star Patrick Stewart Explains Why Star Trek's Popularity Never DiesStar Trek: Picard's Dog Means Much More Than You Might ExpectChild's Play TV Show Chucky Gets Series Order At Syfy--What Is It About?Syfy Developing Gritty Peter Pan SequelYoung Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Life Explored In New NBC ComedyTwilight Zone Season 2 Cast Includes Deadpool And Westworld Stars, Among OthersStar Trek: Picard Officially Receives Second Season Before Launch On CBS All AccessHBO's The Plot Against America Reimagines WWII With Fascist Leader As PresidentPatton Oswalt's MODOK Marvel Series Gets Update From Hulu BossHulu Boss Gives Marvel's Helstrom Update: Get Ready For Comic Book HorrorInfo from Gamespot.com

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge is the latest animated feature under production from Warner Bros. Animation. Set to come out in the first half of 2020, the movie has cast two major characters.Joel McHale (Community) and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) have joined the project to voice Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade respectively, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While we won't see McHale on the big screen as Cage--as it's an animated movie--his voice should do the Hollywood superstar/Earth-realm savior justice. Also, McHale totally looks a bit like Cage, so that's a nice bonus. They're joining a long list of familiar faces from the video game series--which you can see below.Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge Cast:Joel McHale as Johhny CageJennifer Carpenter as Sonya BladePatrick Seitz as Scorpion and Hanzo HasashiSteve Blum as Sub-ZeroJordan Rodrigues as Lui KangRobin Atkin Downes as KanoArtt Butler as Shang TsungDarin De Paul as Quan ChiDavid B. Animation previous. Mortal Kombat's Ed Boon is signed on as a creative consultant for the project. At this time, there are no story details for the animated feature, but it's a safe bet to say the film will revolve around the murder of Hanzo Hasashi, how he becomes Scorpion, and his return...for revenge.Scorpion's Revenge isn't the only Mortal Kombat movie in the works. Warner Bros. has a live-action film underway, which is shooting in southern Australia. Most of the casting has been revealed, including Kano, Sonya, Sub-Zero, Lui Kang, and Jax. The live-action Mortal Kombat movie will arrive in March 2021, about a year after Scorpion's Revenge. Info from Gamespot.com

Hot off of a run on the latest Star Wars trilogy, actor Oscar Isaac has signed on to an adaptation of one of the best comic series of the early 21st century, Ex Machina--now called The Great Machine for the big screen.Isaac has signed on to play the lead character Mitchell Hundred. In addition to starring, Isaac will also produce The Great Machine alongside Jason Spire and Vaughan. In the Ex Machina comic--written by Brian K. Vaughan and drawn by Tony Harris--Hundred is the first and only superhero who becomes mayor of New York City after the events of 9/11. The book primarily revolves around politics, with the flashbacks to Hundred's time as a superhero, The Great Machine--a superhuman who can talk to and control machines. The series ran for 50 issues at Wildstorm Comics, a DC Comics imprint. In 2014, Isaac also starred in the Alex Garland film Ex Machina--a movie that has nothing to go with Vaughan and Harris' comic. Obviously, the name of the comic has to be changed for the big screen, as it would be a bit confusing if there were two movies titled Ex Machina and both of them starred Isaac. The Great Machine isn't the only Vaughan adaptation coming soon. His brilliant comic series Y: The Last Man is coming to FX, but it's still in pre-production. "It's in pre production," chairman or FX Networks and FX Productions John Landgraf explained at the TCA winter press tour. "Eliza Clark is is running that show with Brad Simpson and Nina Jacobson. We've seen, five [or] six scripts now. That's that's all I can say. We haven't scheduled because it hasn't gone into production yet. We changed showrunners and did a big sort of reboot on it and so that was a big redevelopment. But that seems to be going well."Info from Gamespot.com

Following a shockingly enjoyable third installment, Bad Boys For Life, Michael Bay's cult classic franchise Bad Boys is on track for a fourth film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.Writer Chris Bremner, who worked on Bad Boys For Life, has been tapped to write the script for the film. Stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are, naturally, expected to return. According to THR, the plan for the fourth film is to eliminate the "time lag" between installments, referencing the 17-year gap between Bad Boys II, released in 2003, and Bad Boys For Life in 2020. Of course, this likely means we'll be seeing the return of some of the franchise's newer characters introduced in For Life as well, like Venessa Hudgens, Charles Melton, and Alexander Ludwig--but a complete cast list for the project has yet to be revealed. In GameSpot's review of Bad Boy's For Life, Chris E. Hayner said: "Ultimately, Bad Boys for Life is better than practically anyone could expect. While it would have been easy to rely on the nostalgia of seeing the iconic trio of Smith, Lawrence, and explosions on-screen together again, the new film strives to be so much more and manages to pull it off. And what's more, it also provides a blueprint for what the franchise could become in the future, should audiences want to see more.Bad Boys For Life hits theaters today, January 17, 2020. It has been 13 years since Nicolas Cage gallivanted around America unlocking historical secrets in the National Treasure series. Luckily for fans, a third movie is in the works. While details are scarce, National Treasure 3 is in pre-production for Disney, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Bad Boys for Life's Chris Bremner will be writing the third film in the series (he is also working on Bad Boys 4). Jerry Bruckheimer will produce the latest National Treasure adventure. At the time of this writing, there's no indication as to whether or not Nicolas Cage will reprise his role as the eccentric Ben Gates. Both films starred Cage alongside Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha, and Jon Voight.Together, both 2004's National Treasure and 2007's National Treasure: Book of Secrets grossed over $800 million worldwide. The road to a third movie has been a rough one. Bruckheimer confirmed the film would happen back in 2010, and a few years later, writers were hired for it. News about the film went dark after that. However, during this time, Walt Disney Pictures had a few failures like The Lone Ranger and the infamous John Carter movie, which may have swayed the company away from making another National Treasure movie.Luckily, National Treasure 3 is now underway, and hopefully, it will be as glorious as the first two movies.Info from Gamespot.com

During a livestream for a PAX South panel, publisher NIS America announced that it is bringing the third entry in the cult-hit Japanese RPG series Trails Of Cold Steel to PC. Fully titled, The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel III, it originally released on PS4 in September 2017 for Japan and October 2019 in the West, and a Switch version is due later this year. However, those who are looking to continue the Cold Steel saga on PC can do so on March 23, 2020.Cold Steel III continues the story of main character Rean Schwarzer and friends from Class VII navigating tense political drama and the terrors of war as they grow into young adults and take on new roles in life. The series incorporates story elements from the Trails In The Sky series (and other Japan-only entries) as all these games take place in the same universe. When it comes to this version in particular, Cold Steel III gets the enhancements that came with the previous two games on PC. This includes native 4K support, ultrawide 21:9 support, an uncapped framerate, and a bunch of graphics options. Another important inclusion is turbo mode, which lets you fast forward 2x, 4x, or 6x the game's speed at any point. For more on the series, be sure to read our in-depth interview with developer Falcom's president Toshihiro Kondo about Trails Of Cold Steel and how it fits into the larger RPG landscape. If you're looking to take the game on the go later this year, you can check out our Cold Steel III gameplay on Nintendo Switch. Trails Of Cold Steel IV closes out the series, and while it's been out in Japan since 2018, there's currently no word on a Western release.Info from Gamespot.com

Ubisoft has announced it plans to change-up the structure of its editorial team--the group of individuals largely responsible for the design and story direction for all of the company's games. By changing how the group is organized, Ubisoft hopes to better differentiate its games from one another."We are reinforcing our editorial team to be more agile and better accompany our development teams around the world as they create the best gaming experiences for players," Ubisoft said, according to VGC. For context, in the past, the 100-or-so group of designers and producers that comprised the editorial team were the leading influence behind the similar design in Ubisoft games: open-world with lots of side quests, multiplayer or online in-game elements, and storylines themed around real-world issues, according to VGC's report."In the previous system that editorial had, there were often the ideas of just one or two people getting put into every game," an anonymous source told VGC. "That's why you tended to see such similarity, because it's the same taste and opinion being replicated."Granted, these design philosophies have been the basis for some of Ubisoft's recent successes, such as Watch Dogs 2 and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. However, as 2019 made abundantly clear, using a design that's worked before for all of your franchises does not mean they'll all be successful. Ubisoft reported disappointing sales numbers for both The Division 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint--later implying one of Breakpoint's most significant flaws was that it was too similar to The Division 2. "While many of our titles are strongly differentiated, we need to ensure this is the case for all of them," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in a conference call.Following the reveal of the disappointing sales numbers, Ubisoft announced that it would be delaying Watch Dogs: Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Gods & Monsters so as to ensure that they all launch with the right amount of polish and are distinct--both from each other and what came before them.Under the new set-up, Ubisoft chief creative officer Serge Hascoet will no longer solely lead editorial. Instead, he will simply oversee the group while seven vice presidents each lead individual teams within editorial that are devoted to one franchise. Under this new system, Ubisoft is hoping that all of its franchises will evolve in different ways, creating a more distinct feel for each.Info from Gamespot.com

Netflix has revealed the first image for the anticipated third season of Castlevania, its original animated series based on the acclaimed video game franchise of the same name. If you're looking for a first look at what to expect from Season 3, look at the header image of the show's Twitter account--or just keep scrolling, we've embedded it below. The new header image features four characters. Of the four, only one is immediately recognizable--Carmilla, the secondary antagonist of Castlevania Season 2 and a recurring boss from the video game series. The other three are brand-new, never-before-seen characters. The image offers no hint as to the allegiance of the three new characters, though spotlighting them at all implies that they'll feature prominently in some capacity to the storyline of Season 3.Carmilla is the one on the far right--the remaining three haven't been seen in the Castlevania series as of yet.Not much is yet known about Castlevania Season 3. Netflix confirmed a Season 3 would be made almost immediately after the debut of Season 2, adding that director Sam Deats, writer/executive producer Warren Ellis, and executive producers Adi Shankar, Fred Seibert, and Kevin Kolde would return. At first glance, Unity of Command 2 may look intimidating, the familiarity of the pint-sized tanks and military men that populate its World War II battlefields obscured by an impenetrable fog of unintuitive jargon and confounding icons. But once the confusion clears it reveals a surprisingly straightforward wargame whose keen focus on establishing and severing lines of supply delivers remarkable strategic depth. This isn't really a strategy game about marching your troops forward to attack the enemy. Unity of Command 2's twist on the genre makes it a game about manoeuvring your units to occupy spaces that maintain clear supply lines to your forces and deny supply to the enemy. In fact, the winning move often involves holding your position. Sometimes you don't even need to engage the enemy at all; you just have to starve them out.Placing you in charge of the Allied forces in 1943, the campaign opens in North Africa before pushing up through Italy and into the heart of Western Europe. Missions arrive in groups known as conferences, one of the first off-putting terms you'll encounter. At the start of a conference, you can spend prestige points on upgrading your field headquarters, extending their range and efficiency during combat, and on purchasing theatre cards that you can play in battle to grant additional abilities. Beat all the missions in a conference and you unlock the next, along with another chance to upgrade and purchase.Luck and short-term planning combine here in an interesting way. The cards available to purchase are shuffled randomly, meaning you can't always rely on picking up a favourite and may need to accommodate a curveball or two. And the choices you make are locked in for the duration of the conference, so you've got to manage with what you've got in terms of HQ upgrades and make those cards last over several missions. Knowing you have only three opportunities to use a naval bombardment over the course of a single mission does a lot to focus the mind. Such constraints force you to make bold choices about which targets you absolutely must hit and when precisely is the right time to do so. Get these plays right and you feel like the greatest general the world’s ever seen. Extra cards can be collected during missions as you complete certain objectives, but they arrive more as a relief package--an unexpected boon to your cause rather than a way to undermine the decisions you finalised at the last conference. At the outset of each mission you're able to survey the map and plan your approach. Usually there are a couple of primary objectives that must be fulfilled to complete the scenario, accompanied by a few secondary objectives that, if achieved, offer a bonus reward or even a slight tactical advantage in the next mission. These objectives are designed in such a way to guide you across the map, and the attentive player will glean useful advantages from them. For example, if the objectives ask you to take a certain town by turn 5 and a second town by turn 8, then it's likely that taking the first town will be beneficial to your efforts to take the second. And if you're tasked with taking and holding a location then doing so will undoubtedly accord an ongoing advantage. Clear, concise objectives provide a structure to each mission that makes it easy to digest what's expected of you, and when you should be aiming to have it accomplished.Rounding out the preparatory phase, the units at your disposal are pre-assigned as per the scenario, so you're never burdened with choosing whether or not to deploy the US 13th Airborne or the 7th British Armoured Division--they're already there, conveniently positioned on a hex, ready to go. Although units come in only two types--tank and infantry divisions--there's a host of critical attributes that can distinguish one tank division from the next, assuming you can get your head around the collection of arcane icons used to describe them.Units are composed of "steps," an offputting, unfamiliar term that basically measures the health of the unit. All else being equal, a five-step unit will beat a three-step unit. Yet in these variable battlefields, things are rarely equal. Tiny stars and crosses next to a unit indicate whether it's an elite, veteran or regular unit, but these icons are all-too-easily missed, and even after dozens of hours of play I still found myself occasionally not noticing I was sending a regular infantry to their doom against an elite. Other, multi-coloured symbols represent various specialists serving in the division, but there's no tooltip or in-game explanation as to how a specialist can benefit a unit. I had to rely on an external guide, alt-tabbing out to remind myself that the dark blue icon with the chevron indicated a self-propelled anti-tank specialist while the chevron and dot meant it was a towed anti-tank specialist. There's a lot to remember and keep track of, and unfortunately, the tutorials and in-game tooltips aren't up to the job. However, once you've taken stock there's the opportunity to make some last-minute adjustments, adding more regular or specialist units to this squad or that, to better suit the strategic gambit you wish to employ. Deploying an engineer specialist to the siege at your primary objective will help whittle away the enemy's fortification bonuses, but maybe you're better off assigning them to the infantry in the east to help ford all those rivers and secure a secondary objective? All these resources are limited, though, and the trade-offs you're forced into always carry weight. The importance of every decision you make is heightened by the tight turn limit applied to each mission. Of course, you're free to take all the time in the world on each turn. But Unity of Command 2 is a wargame with a fast turnover, and that's precisely what makes it so accessible. Brief skirmishes are the order of the day rather than long, drawn-out stalemates. Often you'll be asked to tick off secondary goals within three or four turns while 10 or 12 turns is a generous amount of time to secure the primary objectives. Experimentation is encouraged by the short time scale. Roll the dice on one strategy, fail quickly, and then before you know it you're back at the battle planning stage, pondering a more effective approach based on the lessons taught by your unsuccessful sortie.Battles are won through a combination of clear, decisive strikes and a conservative support structure that can swiftly respond to any breach in your line. The way you have to manage logistics through the supply line system turns what could have been a puzzle game about finding the correct solution into a meaty strategy game brimming with flexibility. Victory is all about identifying where you really need to break through the enemy line to secure that vital railroad junction that will cut off supply to every enemy unit in a particular region of the map. Or it's about realising that you can drop those paratroopers behind enemy lines to blow up a bridge that will deny the Germans' ability to keep supplying the frontline. Seeing your plan executed successfully is incredibly satisfying, but at the same time, it's still entertaining to see a plan fall apart as enemy tanks overrun a key chokepoint, suddenly finding yourself scrambling to hold the line and divert supply to your now-stranded troops.Unity of Command 2 is an overall excellent wargame. The early going can be tough as it takes time to acclimatise to some idiosyncratic terms and learn to interpret the raft of poorly-explained icons. Persistence--not to mention some handy community-written guides--does pay off, though. Stick with it, and you'll be rewarded with one of the finest strategy games in recent times. Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed, pushing the upcoming RPG back from its original April 16 release date to September 17. The game is still scheduled to release for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia but is also now launching in a spot that makes an announcement for next-gen versions on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 seem more plausible."We are currently at a state where the game is complete and playable, but there's still work to be done," CD Projekt Red wrote in a press release, embedded below. "Night City is massive--full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing, and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give the precious months we need to make the game perfect." CD Projekt Red added that there will be "regular updates" on the game's progress as the September 17 release date approaches. We have important news regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s release date we’d like to share with you today. pic.twitter.com/aWdtR0grYV — CD PROJEKT RED (@CDPROJEKTRED) January 16, 2020Night City is the setting for Cyberpunk 2077, and CD Projekt Red said it wants to create the design of the city so that it offers a "unique take" on cyberpunk. "When we showed the demo last year, people were surprised at first that it was so sunny," Cyberpunk 2077 concept art coordinator Marthe Jonkers said in an interview with GamesIndustry.Biz.
