Don't Nod announced its next game, Aphelion, at the Xbox Games Showcase. As seen in the announcement trailer, Aphelion sees you play as Ariane, an astronaut lost on the newly discovered ninth planet in our solar system (sorry Pluto) named Persephone. She's searching for Thomas, a fellow astronaut who got separated from her at the start of the game. The duo are surveying the plant to see whether it's habitable after humans mucked up Earth. In terms of gameplay, not much is shown in the trailer. Presumably, the game will have a focus on story and choices like past Don't Nod titles, but the trailer suggests platforming (and falling) will be a regular part of the experience as well. The ending of the trailer teases some sort of alien or otherworldly element, likely one that's dangerous to both Ariane and Thomas--the description beneath the trailer describes "shifting realities."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, At Fate's End is the latest game from Spiritfarer developer Thunder Lotus Games. This is the studio's second game in development, with 33 Immortals releasing in early access earlier this year. The action-adventure game stars Shan, who wields the legendary God Sword Aesus in a war waged against her own family. These skirmishes will require more than skill with a blade, however, with At Fate's Ending putting dialogue and familial insights at the heart of its combat system. In the gameplay trailer, you can see Shan deciding between dialogue responses during an intense duel. According to the game's Steam page, you'll have the option to either defeat or reconcile with each of Shan's relatives, with each choice impacting how the narrative unfolds. Shan's skill tree is Shan's family tree; with each member, you overcome granting you new abilities to help further explore At Fate's End's world.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A pair of Final Fantasy games are coming to Xbox, and one of them is coming extremely soon. As announced during the Xbox Games Showcase, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming this winter. And the most recent numbered series entry, Final Fantasy XVI, is coming to Xbox today.A brief trailer showed off both games back to back. An associated blog entry noted that every mainline, single-player Final Fantasy game is coming to Xbox platforms, so that will surely include Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as well. No release date has been given for that second part of the Remake trilogy.Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is the full version of Remake, including the Yuffie-centered DLC that leads the story right into Rebirth. Final Fantasy XVI, meanwhile, is its own story following Clive Rosfield as he navigates global politics in a world where kingdoms have access to massive destructive summoned creatures called Eikons as their ultimate power.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Invincible is all about superheroes absolutely pummeling each other in ludicrous blood-soaked battles, and in 2026, you'll be able to join the fray in Invincible VS, a fighting game based on the comic series and its animated adaptation.Skybound Games announced the title in the Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2025. You can check out the trailer below.Invincible comes from writer Robert Kirkman, best known for The Walking Dead comic series, and like that story about survivors of a zombie apocalypse, it brings a similarly dark and dismal take to the superhero genre. The series focuses on Mark Grayson, a young superhero figuring out his place in the world as he struggles under the shadow of his father, Omni-Man--the world's most powerful hero. Things go south, however, when it becomes obvious that Omni-Man isn't quite the hero he appears to be, and Mark--as the superhero Invincible--chooses to stand against his father and the empire of superbeings he's a part of.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Keeper, the newest game from acclaimed adventure-game developers Double Fine and veteran designer Lee Petty, was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase. As the name implies, the game involves a moving lighthouse--though whether you're playing and the lighthouse or a being managing it (a "keeper") isn't quite clear. A green bird appears frequently alongside the lighthouse, seeming to aid and guide the lighthouse as it travels through a variety of colorful environments including gemstone-adorned caves, treacherous cliffsides, ancient ruins, and a desolate plain. The bird also seems to be important for solving puzzles, as the trailer demonstrates. We also get a brief look at some very large beings that could either be mechanical monstrosities or organic giants. How the lighthouse will deal with these obstacles, or if they're even threats at all, remains unclear. Keeper will release on Xbox Series X and PC on October 17, 2025.Xbox Games Showcase 2025: All The Biggest AnnouncementsSee MoreInfo from Gamespot.com

As part of the Xbox Games Showcase, Activision announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Didn't we just get a new Black Ops game in 2024? That's more than 40 years after the events of Black Ops 6 and 10 years after the events of Black Ops 2. Activision said the story in Black Ops 7 will be the "most mind-bending" ever, and that's saying something for a series known for its twists and turns.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Persona 4 Revival was officially unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025 today, following several recent leaks. Like last year's Persona 3 Reloaded, this new version of Persona 4 is a brand-new edition of the classic 2008 RPG by Atlus. The announcement teaser is light on information, aside from confirming that it takes place in the quiet countryside town of Inaba away from the bustling metropolis of the other entries, with a few shots of its high school classrooms and the town's streets, with just a few seconds of the protagonist running through them. It of course won't be too long before he goes head-first into a strange mystery storyline, as he joins his friends to investigate seemingly unsolvable murders while harnessing the power of Personas to crack the case.A remake of Persona 4 became the worst-kept secret in gaming, as prior to its announcement, voice actor Yuri Lowenthal confirmed that he would not be reprising his role as Yosuke Hanamura for the game. "For those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake," Lowenthal said in a since-deleted post on BlueSky. "I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

For the better part of two decades, the Gears of War franchise has been exclusive to Xbox consoles and PC. This summer, that's going to change with Gears of War: Reloaded, the second remaster of the original game from 2006. A new trailer for Reloaded dropped during the Xbox Games Showcase, and it gives PlayStation 5 gamers a chance to see what they've been missing. The game takes place on a colony world named Sera where humans are quickly becoming an endangered species thanks to the emergence of the Locust, a subterranean group that first struck 14 years earlier. Players assume the role of Marcus Fenix and his fellow Delta Squad troopers as they attempt to reverse humanity's fortunes in the war and reclaim Sera as their home.According to Microsoft, the new remaster will support 4K-resolution 120fps support, and multiplayer. It will also have cross-play and cross-production on all platforms. Additionally, players who already own the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition can get Reloaded for free.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After releasing to critical acclaim back in 2023, Planet of Lana is getting a sequel. Revealed as a part of the June Xbox Games Showcase, Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf will pick up where the first game left off, and follows Lana and Mui as they embark on an even greater adventure across the enchanting world of Novo. After saving their home from a robot outbreak in the first game, Planet of Lana 2 sees Lana and her companion Mui take a deep dive into the history of Novo in an effort to uncover its mysterious past. What ensues is an adventure featuring a "deeper, longer story," more challenging puzzles, and a touching story about the duo's "unbreakable bond."Though Planet of Lana 2 will still retain the series' signature side-scrolling gameplay, it seems as though the overall experience will be more fast-paced this go around. According to its Steam page, Planet of Lana 2 will contain more challenging action sequences that make use of Lana's newly heightened agility. Whereas the first game focused largely on her puzzle-solving skills, Lana will now be able to wall jump and break into a slide while running to evade dangerous situations. Additionally, Planet of Lana 2 sees the series refine its stealth mechanics, making the entire adventure more tense and requiring a greater level of strategy.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Activision announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during the Xbox Games Showcase, and the reveal trailer could also be hinting at Warzone's next big map for battle royale.Near the end of the Black Ops 7 reveal trailer, there is a scene of four soldiers dropping down onto a map, which looks very much like a squad diving into a Warzone match together. The map in question also looks similar to the rumored Avalon map found in Black Ops 6's spectator mode, with both featuring a cluster of islands connected by bridges. This specific scene was saved for the end of the trailer and shown alongside a brief tease of Treyarch's Zombies mode for Black Ops 7, so it is possible Activision is teasing Avalon for Warzone. However, fans shouldn't get their hopes up too soon. Black Ops 7 is revealed to be a co-op campaign, so it is possible the scene in question is just a section of the campaign used to show off four-player co-op. Additionally, known Call of Duty insider "The Ghost of Hope" claims the Avalon map was scrapped for battle royale and would be used for campaign and Outbreak Zombies mode for Black Ops 7.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Vampire Survivors studio Poncle is getting into game publishing, and its first such game is Berserk or Die. Nao Shibata, a solo developer from Japan who makes games under the name Nao Games, revealed the project--an action game with a unique control scheme--is out now.As revealed during the PC Gaming Show, Berserk or Die uses a keyboard and mouse as a controller--but not in the traditional sense. Players will smack the left and right sides of their keyboard in order to move and attack in that direction--with attack power dependent on how many keys are pressed with each slap--while shaking the mouse will activate the player character's special ability. Accessibility options--including a controller-based control scheme--will also be available.Berserk or DieWhen not in battle, players will shop at nighttime peddlers in order to heal and restore magic, and they can also visit the training grounds to learn new abilities for the next fight.
