Gearbox has been steadily raising overall power level of Borderlands 3 with events that offer more generous drops and level cap increases. Still, you may be missing out on some high-level gear, so the developer--just after the release of the Lovecraft-themed Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC--has made it easier than ever to get great loot for a limited time. Until April 2, you can just buy it.A "Door Busters Mini Event" in the game adds legendary weapons and items to vending machines. That applies across all types of gear, so you can get legendary mods and shields from med vending machines, and legendary grenades from ammo vendors, in addition to legendary guns. Some legendary items are one-of-a-kind collectibles with special properties, which you can usually tell if the name of the gear makes some kind of reference to another piece of Borderlands lore or even other video games. Others are just super-charged versions of epic or rare guns with stronger stats or more modifiers. Note that some special legendaries are locked to story missions, and as a result probably can't be found in vending machines. As usual for vending machines, the gear offered will be roughly matched to your current level, so the higher your stats the better loot you can buy.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is launching on Steam Early Access on March 30, a day earlier than expected. The sequel, developed by TaleWorlds Entertainment, has been eight years in the making. On top of releasing a day early, Mount & Blade II will also be available for 10% off during the first two weeks of sale. Anyone who owns a previous title in the series will be eligible for an additional 10% off in select digital stores, too. The reason for this? The coronavirus, of course. "It might seem like a pretty ideal time to release a game (after all, everyone is at home right!?)," the studio said in a blog post. "But we know that the current situation has placed a lot of people in a difficult position when it comes to balancing their finances and risking their health," so it decided to introduce some discounts.TaleWorlds has recently been working on the game remotely, but that hasn't slowed down development. "We have tried to make the best of a bad situation and thankfully, with the help of our IT team, have been able to continue work on the project from home. This has come with its own challenges of course, but we are still very grateful and lucky to work in an industry where it is possible to work remotely, which we know isn't the case for many of you."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When it comes to playing the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode, it can be a bit difficult for those with big hands. Whether it's cramps or my hands falling asleep, it's not a very comfortable experience. Thankfully, there are a lot of great options, including Switch grips and one particularly great controller. The Hori Split Pad Pro was released alongside last year's Daemon X Machina, but thankfully, it works great with almost every single game on the Switch--and right now, it's discounted on Amazon. The Hori Split Pad Pro is currently $40.54 on Amazon right now, down from its original price of $50. It comes with free Prime shipping, though depending on your location, it may take a while to arrive. It's unclear how long this deal will last, so if you're interested, it's best to act sooner rather than later.Hori Split Pad Pro$40.54 ($50)Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

One of Netflix's more popular animated series, Castlevania, is coming back to the streaming service, as it was announced the show is getting a Season 4. The news was revealed in a three-second video on Twitter. There's not a lot to go on here, just some typical summoning of Sir Mirror. Check it out for yourself.pic.twitter.com/ZuPyKxGRDF — NX (@NXOnNetflix) March 27, 2020The original tweet asks you to reply with the clapping hands emoji. We're not sure if anything is supposed to happen if you do, as we've replied to the tweet and have not received a response. So it doesn't seem this is like the recent Candyman promotion, where if you tweeted something specific, you'd get to see a clip from the movie as a reply to the tweet. The third season of Castlevania hit Netflix on March 5, and in his review, Mike Rougeau said, "Netflix's Castlevania is absolutely a guilty pleasure; a grindhouse cartoon for adults who grew up playing Symphony of the Night, listening to metal, and watching shonen anime. But it's also an exceptionally well-made guilty pleasure, with a fantastic cast, unique animated action, mature tone, decent writing, smart pacing, and generally gorgeous look, feel, and sound. In the end, you'll want to pick up a controller and revisit your favorite game in the series, which, in the troubled landscape of video game adaptations, is maybe the biggest compliment one can pay."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fortnite's Week 6 challenges of Season 2 are now live, and like last week's batch, these are themed around the Meowscles skin. That means that you'll need to do some cat-like things to complete a few of the missions, such as destroying dog houses. If you're not sure where those can be found, we've put together the map and guide below to help you out.Where Are The Dog House Locations?Dog houses aren't exactly prominent fixtures, so you may have some trouble tracking them down. Fortunately, there are quite a few of them scattered around the map, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find three and complete this challenge. Many can be found by houses in big residential areas like Pleasant Park and Holly Hedges, so you'll definitely want to narrow your search to places like that. To make it easier, we've marked down some areas where you can reliably find dog houses on the map below.Fortnite dog house locations Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The second of Borderlands 3's DLC expansions--Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock--has been released and so I figured it would be as good a time as any to jump back into Gearbox's first-person loot shooter. The Borderlands franchise has a decent track record when it comes to DLC and it's been a few months since I played the third mainline installment so, ya know, why not? However, I wasn't particularly enthused by my time with Guns, Love, and Tentacles, largely because Gearbox's interpretation of H.P. Lovecraft's work incorporates some of the problematic parts of the author's worldview and then does nothing to address them. It's the DLC's portrayal of black people that irks me the most, largely because of the Borderlands franchise's style of storytelling. Borderlands games traditionally explore concepts or pieces of pop culture through sarcasm, satire, or playful homage. Gearbox takes something that already exists and adapts it to match its style of irreverent Borderlands mayhem.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Id Software's return to Doom in 2016 was a phenomenal update of the franchise's classic shooter formula. It was fast and intense, full of huge monsters and scorching metal tracks, modernizing the feel of the 1990s original while adding some new-school flourishes. Where Doom 2016 brought the original Doom into the present, Doom Eternal feels like a big step forward in making the franchise something new: It's a master class in demon dismemberment after the introductory course to ripping and tearing of four years ago. Like its predecessor, Doom Eternal makes you feel like a monster-shredding badass--not just because you're the strongest Doom Slayer, but because you're also the smartest.Doom Eternal is all about effectively using the huge amount of murder tools at your disposal. Health, armor, and ammo pickups are at a minimum in Eternal's many combat arenas, and the game instead requires you to earn these by massacring monsters in a variety of different ways. Stagger an enemy and you can tear them apart with a brutal glory kill, which refills your health; douse a demon with the new flamethrower and they'll start to spout armor pickups; or cut them in half with the chainsaw to grab some much-needed ammo.In order to stay alive, you can't just run around blasting madly, expecting to tear through everything in your path; you have to run around blasting rationally to keep yourself at fighting strength. Keeping all your numbers up means continually rotating through your glory, chainsaw, and flamethrower kills while also making sure you're using the right gun for a particular job. Many of the toughest enemies now have weak points that allow you to snipe off their most lethal weapons, and you'll need to assess threats and knock them out quickly.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Housing is hard to come by in the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, as there's limited space and lots within the game's residential areas. It's why Square Enix also has a condition that if a house hasn't been accessed for 30 days, it'll be marked for automatic demolition--and after 45 days of inactivity, the house will then be removed. However, citing the effects of coronavirus and its impact on people's situations--and by extension, its player base--Square Enix has enacted a temporary freeze on its housing policy. On the official FFXIV site, Square Enix put out a statement about the change and stated, "Taking into account the world-wide spread of the COVID-19 (also known as 'novel coronavirus') and the economical effects of various cities going into lock-down, we have decided to temporarily suspend automatic housing demolition."The freeze on housing demolition went into effect immediately. However, if your house had already been marked for demolition prior to the change in policy, you'll need to access your house in order to save it. The freeze will be in effect indefinitely as the FFXIV team said that it will "monitor the situation in the coming days, and inform you all when we have come to a decision that auto-demolition can commence again."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The latest Call of Duty from Infinity Ward shipped without an answer to Black Ops 4’s Blackout, but it has since been supplemented by Warzone--a completely standalone battle royale built off of the backbone of Modern Warfare. Not only is it a smarter way to ensure it's not tied to each annual release in the series, but Warzone gives the series its own identity within the competitive genre. It might not be apparent at first, though, especially when you take into consideration how much Warzone borrows from other popular battle royale games. It incorporates a ping system similar to the one in Apex Legends, letting you tag enemy positions, points of interest, and loot for teammates at the press of a button (albeit mapped to a button that's harder to reach quickly, mitigating some of its convenience). It plays out on a massive map akin to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, where large swathes of open land are ripe for snipers while dense suburbs make for exhilarating and chaotic close-quarters skirmishes. And like the ones in Fortnite, color-coded chests overflowing with loot are easy to hunt down when you are within earshot of their signature emanating jingle.None of these competitors are defined solely by the elements Warzone borrows from them, and Warzone isn't defined by the sum of their parts. Instead, Warzone uses them to establish a solid foundation for its own distinct elements. It starts with a larger player count than the aforementioned battle royale games, with Warzone currently supporting up to 150 players per match, with modes for three-person squads or solo play. Having so many players active at once keeps you constantly on alert, but also increases the odds that you'll at least have some action (and likely a handful of kills) each match. This makes even some of the least successful drops feel worthwhile--even if your entire match lasts only a handful of minutes, you'll likely get some valuable time in with some weapons, better preparing you for another fight in the next match.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When you start a new island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you'll find an assortment of flowers of one type on your cliffs. As you play, you'll be able to buy more flower seeds and plant a variety of flower species to spruce up your island paradise. All of these flowers will be red, yellow, or white, but there are also quite a few other colors you can get if you learn to garden the Animal Crossing way. These "hybrid" flowers include black, blue, purple, pink, and orange variations of the flowers you can plant normally. Hybrid flowers aren't just pretty--they can sometimes attract rare bugs you couldn't get otherwise and can also be used as crafting ingredients, so it's a good idea to have at least a few on your island.Types Of FlowersLike with your native island fruit, there will be one type of flower that grows on your cliffs when you start the game; keep in mind that you'll need a ladder to scale the cliffs. You can buy other varieties of flowers (in seed form) from Tommy in Resident Services or at Nook's Cranny when it opens. The flower varieties include:Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
