Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's battle royale spin-off, Warzone, has been immensely popular, but if you've wanted to try the core game's regular multiplayer modes, then you have your chance right now. Modern Warfare's multiplayer will be free until April 6 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. That's only three days, but even if you don't end up buying the full game, it's a good opportunity to level up your weapons and create some loadouts for Warzone--all of your Warzone purchases and levels also carry over to multiplayer.Anyone who has already downloaded Warzone can simply select the "Multiplayer" option from the main menu to access the free multiplayer weekend. If you don't currently have Warzone, then be sure to download it soon, so you can play as much as possible. Unfortunately, if you want to keep playing Modern Warfare's multiplayer past the free weekend, it looks like you'll need to pay full price--no discounts have been revealed as of yet.One of this weekend's available playlists includes "Stocked Up, Locked Down," which rotates between 10v10 Atlas Superstore and 6v6 Shoothouse maps through modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and more--unfortunately, the April Fool's Day playlists have been removed. Other game modes you can expect include the 64v64 Ground War game type and Gunfight, the latter of which is a 2v2, last-man-standing battle. It's incredibly tense and is perfect to take on with a friend.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Back when the Nintendo Switch console first released in March 2017, I started looking for the best Nintendo Switch controller to make all my games play just a bit better. While the current model (which sports improved battery life over the launch model) is great, the tiny, flat Joy-Cons at the console's sides leave something to be desired (at least the Switch Lite has an actual D-Pad). Thankfully, Switch players have all kinds of options when it comes to Nintendo Switch accessories. Whether you prefer to play the Nintendo Switch console with a PS4 or Xbox One controller, play using the Joy-Cons while they're charging, or just love gaming on the go, there's an accessory tailor-made for you. You can even make the console more comfortable by improving the grip on the console itself, so you don't drop it and damage the screen (though you should probably still get a tempered glass screen protector, just in case). The official Nintendo Pro controller is still the best Nintendo Switch controller for the console overall (it has a great battery perfect for long gaming stints, easy charging, and can be used with a Nintendo Switch dock or even if you're using the console in tabletop mode), but it's also somewhat pricey. But even if you're looking for something else, we're on the case.Whether you're looking for a cheaper Switch Pro alternative or just want something with a different grip while you play Minecraft, we have a number of other gaming options at our disposal without having to resort to a Switch mod; third-party companies like 8Bitdo and PDP have introduced some great alternatives to the Pro controller that account for personal preference while also introducing new features not found in first-party Nintendo Switch accessories. Not all of these Switch accessories are winners, but I've tested and identified some of the best Nintendo Switch controllers (most of which also work with the new Switch Lite, by the way) if you need something a little different at a more affordable price.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The line between Rick & Morty and the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to blur. Now, another alum from the series is reportedly joining the MCU. However, this one will write a film.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rick & Morty writer/co-producer Jeff Loveness has been tapped to pen the script for the currently unannounced Ant-Man 3, the followup to 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. We're living in strange times right now and the news is pretty heavy. A lot is going on in the world, so it's super important to stay informed on the latest. And that's exactly what we're here to do, both for ourselves and for you. Every week, here on Good News Gaming, we're going to highlight uplifting news stories that may have passed you by in the midst of the hustle and bustle of online news. We're going to chat about the good things that are happening, enjoy some weird memes, and just all try and smile.Kicking things off, we take a look at the charming and inventive ways people are using Animal Crossing: New Horizons to connect with their loved ones--in a time of social distancing, Nintendo's wholesome island life sim is strengthening our bonds with friends and family. Birds Of Prey may not be the deepest movie in the DC cinematic universe, but it's certainly one of the most fun. As a neon-splashed, ultraviolent romp through street-level Gotham City, it's delightfully wacky and irreverent--but one moment sticks out from the rest both in tone and context. About midway through, the film's big bad, Roman Sionis (Ewan McGregor) has a complete meltdown in his nightclub, prompting him to viciously attack and sexually harass one of the female patrons while Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) watches on, horrified. There's no punchline or wink to the audience, no slap-stick fourth-wall breaking to lighten the mood, just a power-crazed paranoid villain and his victim. In our spoiler review, we denoted the scene was one of the only gratuitous moments in an otherwise gleefully fun movie. And apparently, that was the intent. Director Cathy Yan explained the context of the scene in an interview with THR, as well as the struggle to keep the moment in the film's final cut.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is in the midst of its Bunny Day festivities, but alongside that came a new patch that fixed up some bugs. Though Nintendo hasn't shared official English patch notes yet, we have some idea from the Japanese notes (via Go Nintendo).According to the patch notes, this update fixes a few notable glitches that could severely impact gameplay, including one that makes a crucial piece of game progression disappear, and another that impacted your ability to change the island to your liking.Bunny Day is essentially the Animal Crossing version of Easter, with a rabbit visitor named Zipper coming and hiding eggs all over your island. Those eggs can then be used for a ton of special DIY recipes.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Indie outfit Chucklefish has unveiled a new isometric artstyle for its supernatural life-sim Witchbrook, and it's quite a looker. The game previously featured a more-standard top-down style in early screenshots. Here's a side-by-side comparison:Chucklefish is arguably best-known for publishing the farming sim mega-hit Stardew Valley, but its also developed some notable games, such as 2016's Starbound. The developer first announced Witchbrook back in 2018, and few details have emerged in the intervening years. Recently, it revealed an official website with some more information on the game. There's still no release date in sight yet, and we still don't know what platforms the game is going to come out for. According to Chucklefish, the game will allow you to immerse yourself as a witch-in-training, complete with a social schedule and classes. It all sounds very Harry Potter, with a bit of Persona and Fire Emblem: Three Houses thrown in.Info from Gamespot.com

Since its launch last year, Apex Legends has been experimenting with limited-time modes that introduced varying squad numbers, with playlists for both duo and solo play. The standard three-player squad mode has persisted, but on April 7 Apex Legends will let you play duos forever. The new mode is part of the larger The Old Ways event, which has fleshed some of Bloodhound's backstory while making substantial changes to the game moving forward. Duos is one such change--now you can decide on your squad size before launching into a match, as well as what map you want to drop into. Apex Legends is introducing map-rotation permanently too, letting you switch between King's Canyon and Worlds Edge.Unlike most of the event's content, these changes are here to stay. The Old Ways will also introduce a new Town Takeover called Bloodhound's Trials, feature an exclusive rewards track with daily and weekly challenges on top of those included in the battle pass, and more items in the direct to purchase store pertaining to the event and the short story that started it all.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
