A lot has changed in real life since I first started playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons at the end of February, and even since I wrote my review in progress in the middle of March. Having such a wholesome game during an objectively bad time has been something of a blessing for a lot of people, myself included, and I'd be lying if I said it hasn't affected how I play New Horizons. I find myself turning to the game at night when I can't sleep, or during the day when I'm stressed and I need a break. More often than not, an adorable villager or even just a sense of accomplishment from finishing my chores will cheer me up.But that alone is not what defines New Horizons. The times I go to the game when I'm in a good mood are just as important as the times I'm seeking comfort. Even if I end the day anxious, I wake up excited to see what's new on my island. I can't wait to see who's visiting for the day, to check out the bridge I just built or the new flowers that might be growing or how my new decor looks in the daytime. And I look forward to playing with my friends, trading items and design ideas and hitting each other with nets. New Horizons inspires creative self-expression and embraces kindness and friendship, and that is really what makes it such a joy.Unlike in previous games, you're not moving to a lived-in town in New Horizons; the island is completely deserted when you and two animals arrive as part of Tom Nook's "getaway package," save for the tiny airport. There's no store or museum, all three of you live in tents, and Tom Nook himself operates out of a tent that he shares with his adorable nephews, Timmy and Tommy. Tom Nook clearly expected this whole thing to be a bit more glamorous (or at least popular), and in typical Tom Nook fashion, one of his first actions is to put you to work collecting tree branches and fruit to make a fire pit and drinks for a welcome party.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fortnite creator Epic Games and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Games have teamed up to release a mobile game for iOS and Android called Spyjinx, a game long in the works. In 2015, J.J. Abrams and Epic Games announced that Spyjinx was in development and a closed beta would be available in 2016. Obviously, that didn't happen and now, four years later, the dev team has released more details and is finally inching the game closer to launch. From the limited information currently available, Spyjinx appears to be about secret agents and espionage schemes. Game objectives such as creating and protecting your own hideout and infiltrating other players' hideouts looks like a major component of the gameplay. Spyjinx is a mix of "action-strategy gameplay, RPG character development, and head-to-head multiplayer," according to the game's description.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Night one of the two-part Wrestlemania 36 has come to a close, ending with the wildly entertaining Boneyard match between Undertaker and AJ Styles. The first night was filled with title changes, incredible matches, and memorable moments, even though there was not one single person in the audience. Check out the results below and make sure to check out our live review of 2020's Wrestlemania. This year's event is happening at the Performance Center--it was originally scheduled to take place at Tampa, Florida's Raymond James Stadium. One of the biggest matches of the night was going to be Roman Reigns vs. Goldberg for the Universal Championship. However, Reigns revealed in a video that he pulled out of the event, so Goldberg will face a replacement opponent at the show.Additionally, the Undertaker returns to Mania, and he'll be taking on AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match, and Styles explained to GameSpot why having this PPV is so important, regardless of the circumstances: "Our job is to make you forget about what's going on in the world. It's just not good right now. But we're going to get past it. We're going to get over it. And then, in the meantime for Saturday and Sunday, we'll make fans forget about what's going on and just enjoy that time and watch some television."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Surprising no one, My Hero Academia will be getting a fifth season. An announcement at the end of the fourth season's final episode confirmed MHA's continuation and teased that the fifth season was in production. The exact release date is unknown at this time, but since the next installment is still in the works and given what's happening in the world, it's likely we won't see Season 5 this year. The fourth season ended with Endeavor's showdown with a Nomu, and if the anime continues to follow the manga's progression (i.e. no fillers), the fifth season should pick up during the joint training arc. During this part of the story, Midoriya and the rest of class 1-A join up with 1-B to do some more leveling up and honing of their abilities. Season 5 might also cover some of the Meta Liberation Army arc, which gets into Tomura Shigaraki's backstory as well as new moves made by his crew.If you want to get a jump on Season 5 and see what it's likely going to cover in the manga, Viz Media publishes My Hero Academia in English online.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In the three years since Persona 5's original release, I've thought about it almost every day. Its lavish style gracefully captures its spirit of rebellion and breathes life into its dynamic combat system. The evocative, banging soundtrack perfectly encapsulates the emotion of each moment. The downtime spent in Tokyo with your friends brings you closer to each of them, invigorating your fight for what's right. All those qualities feed into a bold story that unapologetically puts its foot down against the injustices that reflect our own society. The extended version, Persona 5 Royal, brings the heat all over again. But beyond a plethora of superb gameplay refinements and features that improve an already-rich RPG comes a momentous new story arc seeded within the original narrative and paid off in full by the end. It delivers something genuinely surprising, leading to awe-inspiring moments and emotional conclusions that recontextualize what I thought the game was. Through its lengthy 120-hour runtime, Persona 5 Royal proves itself as the definitive version of a modern classic. The minute you start P5R, you're given the fantastic in media res introduction that brilliantly showcases the ride you're in for--and provides a glimpse at the Royal-exclusive character Kasumi. After this teaser, you're brought to the chronological start of the story that then walks you through the events that lit the fire inside our protagonist (aka Joker) and kicked off his journey as a virtuous trickster. The opening hours may take some time to pick the pace back up, but by easing you into the game's systems, you're set up for the rest of its flow.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will launch its third season next week. Activision announced the date with a teaser image on the official Call of Duty Twitter account. Season 3 will launch on April 8, 2020. In the meantime, Modern Warfare multiplayer and Warzone modes are offering double XP.A new season means a refreshed battle pass with new rewards to earn. Fortnite Season 2's Deadpool skin has officially arrived. Battle Pass owners can now unlock the character skin by completing this week's pair of Deadpool challenges. Like those from previous weeks, these two tasks are fairly straightforward, but if you need help clearing them, we've put together this guide on where to find Deadpool's pistols and enter a phone booth or port-a-potty.Where To Find Deadpool's Two PistolsLike previous Deadpool challenges, this task doesn't require you to hop into a match; rather, you'll find the two pistols around the main HQ. The first is laying conspicuously under the table that displays this season's challenges, while the second is located by the barbells in the lower right-hand corner of Meowscles' room. Simply click on each of the pistols to collect them and you'll complete the challenge.Where To Enter A Phone Booth Or Port-A-PottyThe second of Week 7's Deadpool challenges does require you to hop into a match, but it is likewise very simple. All you need to do is enter a phone booth or port-a-potty. There are several of each scattered around the island, and you only need to enter one of them to complete the mission.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It doesn't feel like four years have passed since Persona 5 was originally released in 2016. Atlus' PlayStation 4-exclusive RPG developed a fervent fanbase and, thanks to their efforts, the title has remained an ever-present part of gaming culture. Persona 5 is a game that, in more than a few ways, was built to linger in the mind and stay in conversations. Its themes and subject matter are complex and its characters are nuanced. Everything from their visual design, to their personalities, and their place within the story resonated with people. It can't be easy, then, to go back and introduce something new to the game after the fact. Changing something that such a huge number of people have fallen deeply in love with is a daunting challenge, but to have that change be a brand new character placed at the center of the story is a potentially overwhelming one. But that's exactly what Atlus has done for Persona 5 Royal, and the task of designing the new character fell upon Shigenori Soejima.Soejima has defined the Persona series as we know it and, many of gaming's most recognizable characters come from his mind. In this episode of Audio Logs, Soejima shows us exactly how he approaches creating a character. More specifically, how he created Kasumi, the newest member of the Phantom Thieves, who makes her debut in Persona 5 Royal.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In the times of coronavirus (COVID-19), many of us are spending way more time at home and social distancing from our friends, family, and neighbors. Suddenly being cut off from our regular social circles can be a lonely and depressing experience, but fortunately, there are still ways to connect and have fun with your loved ones online. Platforms like Netflix Party help you watch TV and movies with others; Steam's Tabletop Simulator allows for virtual board game nights. And if you're looking for lighthearted games to play online with others--especially people who aren't normally into video games--it's hard to find a better option than The Jackbox Party Pack series. Fortunately, the entire party game franchise is currently on sale at various digital storefronts. In case you're unfamiliar: The Jackbox Party Packs are bundles that each contain five different party games. All games are played by using the web browser on any device of your choice, whether that's your phone, tablet, or PC. Jackbox games will have you input answers or draw things on your device, which will then appear on the screen for everyone to see. Many of them involve answering questions, drawing weird doodles, or coming up with hilarious captions for images. One of our favorite Jackbox games, Drawful 2, is currently free on all platforms. In Drawful, you draw weird prompts like "creepy tiger" or "two moms having a great day"; then, other players will guess what they think you've drawn and vote on what they think is the correct answer. Fibbage and Quiplash are also classics; both involve submitting answers in response to different prompts, and hilarity always ensues. Fans of trivia will want to try out Trivia Murder Party, a horror-themed trivia contest where each round is a matter of life and death (but you can still compete as a ghost!).Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
