The Xbox Series X is due at the end of 2020, and although Microsoft has revealed a lot about the new console, many things remain mysterious about it too. The new console is unlikely to radically reinvent the user interface offered by the Xbox One--in fact, all signs indicate that it will essentially be the same.According to The Verge, Microsoft will make some further tweaks to the Xbox One interface soon, improving the "Guide" functionality on the dashboard and allowing you to customize the order of your navigation tabs. A new "Parties & chats" tab will correlate social features, and a few other parts have been streamlined and simplified. As this article point out, in preview videos for the Xbox Series X, the interface looks identical to this; it's likely that these changes will carry over exactly to the new system. On Twitter, a member of the Xbox support team circa 2013, Missy Quarry, has explained that this makes a lot of sense. "One of the biggest user problems was getting used to an entirely new UI and they begged for the 360 dash," she says.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With the start of The Old Ways event, Respawn added Duos to Apex Legends, the first permanent mode to come to the battle royale game since the addition of Ranked in Season 2: Battle Charge. Both Solos and Duos have appeared in Apex Legends as limited-time modes before, though Respawn says that the former is unlikely to be permanently added to the game like Duos has."When we introduced Solos as a limited-time mode last year we saw it actually negatively impacted the game, especially when it came to new player retention," Respawn writes in The Old Ways update patch notes. "We've also purposely designed legends and their abilities to compliment teamplay and squad composition, but when played solo some legend abilities become useless."That said, Respawn added that the team hasn't completely given up on the idea of a single-player mode and will continue "exploring ways to allow a solo experience." No further details were provided.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In the opening of Final Fantasy VII, Cloud Strife, a mercenary and former member of an elite private military group called SOLDIER, takes on a job with an eco-terrorist cell named Avalanche. Their mission is to blow up a reactor that siphons Mako, the lifeblood of the planet, and uses it to power the sprawling industrial metropolis Midgar. The group infiltrates, braves resistance from Shinra Electric Company's forces, and sets off an explosion that renders the reactor inoperable. In the 1997 original, what followed was a hop, skip, and jump through a few sections of the city back to Sector 7, and the safety of Avalanche's hideout. In Final Fantasy VII Remake, having carried out the mission, you're asked to walk the streets in the aftermath and witness the harrowing consequences of your actions. The sector lies in ruin, fires rage, buildings are crumbling, and the heartbreaking human cost is laid bare.A somber violin plays as you walk Midgar's streets, with each pull of the bow across strings tugging at your conscience and stirring the heart, asking you to question whether you're doing the right thing. The cries of confused children echo, people fall to their knees attempting to grapple with the magnitude of what has happened, and citizens decry this so-called group of freedom fighters you've joined just to make a quick buck.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons community has been up to its stylish haircuts in eggs over the last week, but a new update to the game calms it down with the egg output. According to the official patch notes for version 1.1.4, which you can read below, the "appearance rate" of Bunny Day egg drops has been adjusted through April 11. Reports of the new egg drop rate first came from Siliconera prior to the patch's English translation. The adjusted drop rate will be in effect until April 11, then go back to a higher drop rate on Bunny Day proper, which is April 12. Though you may already have all the eggs you need, it does make sense for them to become more commonplace on the holiday itself.During the Bunny Day festivities, you can find eggs scattered throughout the island in all the areas you would usually farm for regular resources. An egg might pop out of the water on your fishing line, for example, or you could dig one up instead of a fossil. Then you can use them to craft special holiday-themed items. But with the egg rate so high, players have been a little annoyed--the rate of fish spawns had been particularly difficult to deal with prior to the update.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

GameStop is the latest retailer to launch its Spring Sale, which offers great discounts on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch games. GameStop's Spring Sale runs until April 11, but it's possible some of the really great deals will sell out early. Some of the best deals in GameStop's Spring Sale are on Nintendo Switch games. First-party titles including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and Splatoon 2 are on sale for $40 each. While we saw Breath of the Wild cheaper than $40 on Black Friday, it's rarely available for under $50. Splatoon 2 and Tropical Freeze discounts are more rare, with the former being one of the best multiplayer games on Switch and the latter standing as one of the best side-scrollers on Switch.More Spring SalesContinue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With its start as a competitor to Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto, the Saints Row series eventually found its identity as a self-aware and more humorous take on the AAA open-world game. While Saints Row IV saw the game at its most absurd, injecting superhuman powers and a plot involving alien invaders, Saints Row 3 balanced its over-the-top and zany action with a more grounded narrative about the titular gang becoming a franchise, and was all the weirder for it. And now, Volition and Deep Silver are revisiting Saints Row: The Third for a new remaster on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.Set for release on May 22, Saints Row: The Third Remastered will have you re-establish your gang as the world's top organization by taking on many missions and activities with an arsenal of firearms, bizarre vehicles, and obscenely-shaped melee weapons. The Remastered edition is the complete version of Saints Row: The Third, featuring all of the game's DLC and expansions in a single package. Along with that, the remaster updates the game's visuals with a new lighting engine and completely reworked textures. The original game was a mash-up of off-the-wall humor and pop-culture references, which pushed the bounds of what the developers call "exagereal"--essentially the middle ground between grounded and exaggerated realities.Prior to its announcement, publisher Deep Silver/Koch Media and developer Volition showed us an early look at the game in action, while also going into detail about the making of this remaster. According to the developers, which includes Volition and Sperasoft (the studio behind the port), they chose to remaster the third game in the series, as opposed to the first two games, because Saints Row: The Third remains a popular game, and was the one that helped define the series.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
