Nintendo has suspended Switch and Switch Lite shipments in Japan. As Nikkei reports, the company has been unable to keep up with growing demand for the Switch due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused delays in the systems' production.Nintendo noted back in February that the COVID-19 pandemic would impact Switch shipments in Japan. According to a Nintendo source quoted by Nikkei, operations at the Switch production factories have "recovered to a certain point," but are not yet back at full capacity. Nintendo didn't provide a timeline for when Switch shipments would resume in the region.Nikkei notes that this suspension only applies to Japan. CD Projekt Red has confirmed that, though Cyberpunk 2077 will get an updated version for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 at some point, players shouldn't expect to see these next-gen versions of the game at the launch of both consoles. There's no easing into making a competitive game in 2020. Already inundated with games like Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, the battle royales, the MOBAs, and the auto chesses, players have plenty of choices, so if you want to present an alternative, it had better be ready for prime time. Bleeding Edge, the new third-person competitive brawler from DmC developer Ninja Theory, doesn't feel like it's there yet. There's plenty of potential: Its four-on-four scrums blend the mashy feeling of an old school beat-em-up with the tactical considerations of MOBAs and hero shooters, setting it apart from anything you're going to find in popular competitive scenes. However, it suffers from "early days" growing pains that may push players away, rather than draw them in.Bleeding Edge is a self-described competitive multiplayer "brawler," but what does that actually mean? Depending on your point of reference, you could call it a "boots on the ground-style MOBA" or a "third-person hero shooter." It's an action game where two teams of four fight within the narrative framework of competing in one of two team sports--a King of the Hill-style "Objective Control" scenario and "Power Collection," a resource-hoarding mode where players need to break energy canisters and return their contents to designated points at specific times. Though the two variants have their quirks, both boil down to dynamic point control. Whether you're delivering energy or protecting your "hills," you need to defend a position. If you're trying to block your enemy from scoring in either mode, you need to take a position.Both of these things require all four players to work as a team. Though some fighters are better suited for one-on-one combat than others, moving and fighting as a squad is mandatory because the team with larger numbers almost always wins, regardless of skill. Inevitably, each match becomes a series of teamfights for control of an area. In the moment, these battles can feel a bit mashy and sloppy as you rapidly jam on the attack button, but there's a good deal of strategy involved around creating favorable matchups, combining skills to maximize damage dealt and minimize damage taken, and positioning yourself to avoid wide-reaching crowd control attacks. For fans of tense and thrilling TV, Homecoming was one 2018's best shows. The dark and paranoid series was based on the acclaimed podcast and starred Julia Roberts. Homecoming Season 2 is set to hit Prime Video in May, and the first teaser has been released.The teaser is very short and doesn't give any plot details away, but definitely sets a dark and sinister tone. EA has released a very small update for Madden NFL 20 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC that fixes some minor gameplay concerns, as well as improving the game's general stability. For one, defenders won't be able to go into the backfield unblocked in defensive formations like Nickel 2-4-5 Odd anymore. The criminally underappreciated brawler River City Girls has gotten an update on consoles, adding a secret ending that had been previously missing from the game. Developer WayForward says the patch is now on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, and should be coming to PS4 soon after an "unexpected delay."The secret ending follows after a hidden final boss fight that can be triggered by wearing two special items: the earrings from Hasebe and Mami. Hasebe's earrings are the reward for beating the game the first time, while Mami's are the reward for hunting down all the Sabu statues. Doogie Howser, MD launched the career of Neil Patrick Harris during its four seasons between 1989 and 1993. The series followed a teenage genius as he became a doctor. While the series was often pretty dramatic, as many medical shows are, there was also a fair dose of humor. After all, watching a kid diagnose and treat an adult can be pretty funny--especially given the series begins with Doogie taking his driver's license test.Now, it looks like a new generation will have their own Doogie Howser. Variety is reporting that a reboot of the show is in development for the Disney+ streaming service. This new take comes with a twist, though.
