Blizzard has announced that Overwatch's 32nd hero Echo, the final character for the game until Overwatch 2, is now live on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One after a new update.Neural network initialized.Echo is now live on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One!🤖 https://t.co/JCSkZJGOzc pic.twitter.com/EfFOeEwTdm — Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) April 14, 2020Echo is an adaptable robot capable of fitting into just about every role despite being a Damage character. She carries a lot of similarities to heroes like Genji, Mercy, and Pharah, making her a pesky aerial expert that can whittle down the shields of the bulkiest Tanks. And her ultimate ability, Duplicate, lets her mimic the moveset of any enemy hero in her sights. In other words, she's almost never limited to her own arsenal of tricks.Though Echo marks Overwatch's 32nd hero, she also makes for the game's 17th Damage character. This means 53% of Overwatch's roster is damage-focused. Blizzard is aware of this disparity, saying that more Support and Tank heroes are on the way. But these will have to wait until Overwatch 2 comes out.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

On the new Quibi series, Fight Like A Girl, WWE superstars team up with people in need of some change in their lives. The short-form series features some familiar faces like Alexa Bliss, the Bella Twins, and Sonya Deville. In a time of uncertainty, everyone needs a little positivity, motivation to keep chugging along, and changes in our routines to become better people during a scary situation. "We have a platform that we're blessed with at WWE where we can have a positive influence on the world through social media and through our weekly television series," Deville told GameSpot. "But it's really cool to break that down on a more personal level and kind of talk to a fan one-on-one who's experiencing something, and hopefully, you can help push them through. And with my girl Samantha [the woman Deville worked with in her episode], that was exactly what we were able to do. And it was just such a rewarding experience for me, hopefully as it was for her."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Last week, Gearbox introduced a mini-game to Borderlands 3 called Borderlands Science, a block-matching puzzler similar to Bejeweled or Puyo Puyo that allows players to compare microbes. According to Gearbox and the project's co-developers, since even supercomputers can't effectively compare these microbes to each other as well as a human, players are advancing the cause of science by simply spending time with the game.Since then, Gearbox has posted a blog that answers some of the questions that players have been asking about the mini-game, which was developed in conjunction with McGill University, Massively Multiplayer Online Science, and The Microsetta Initiative. For one, the developer has now confirmed that the mode is a permanent addition to Borderlands 3, rather than a limited-time mode. Gearbox also says that it's "looking into" introducing the mode to mobile devices, since many players have specifically requested that.In other Gearbox news, Borderlands 3 recently released its new DLC, titled Guns, Love, and Tentacles in late March. It increased the game's level cap, added new legendary weapons, and a whole raft of cosmetics. The game also released some patch notes this week.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

This news comes after the departure of Scott Derrickson, who directed the first Doctor Strange film, due to "creative differences."Raimi's involvement in the project was first discussed back in February as rumors of negotiations began circulating. If you've been enjoying the increased melee damage associated with certain Exotic gauntlets in Destiny 2, we have some very specific bad news for you. Bungie has determined that due to a bug, the Winter's Guile and Wormgod Caress gauntlets exhibit their effects longer than their intended timer cooldowns, and it's made the decision to disable them until a fix can be made. This isn't the first time that these gauntlets have presented a problem for Bungie. As several players in one Destiny community noted, this is the fourth time that Wormgod Caress has been disabled, and the third time for Winter's Guile. In fact, the text of the announcement tweet is identical to that of a previous one from back in January.Bungie hasn't exactly been conservative when it comes to disabling Destiny 2 Exotics as of late. Back in 2017, the game's Curse of Osiris expansion was marred by a broken weapon called the Prometheus Lens, which was too powerful due to a bug. While it dominated the game's PvP mode Crucible for a time, Bungie took the alternate route of allowing players to buy the weapon from Xur. After the revamp to Exotic weapons in 2018, Bungie has taken the disable route more aggressively than in the past, starting with the Rat King hand cannon. Destiny 2's playerbase has remained steady in the interim, due in part to a promotion that allows Stadia Pro users to play much of the game's content for free.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Following a surprise announcement that XCOM: Chimera Squad, a standalone spinoff that takes place after the events of XCOM 2, would release next week, developer Firaxis revealed additional details about the upcoming tactics-based game. Namely that Chimera Squad was not designed to be a direct sequel or expansion, but as an entry point for new players."[XCOM: Chimera Squad] is neither a sequel or expansion to XCOM 2, though its story is set after the events of the past games," a Firaxis spokesperson said, in an interview with USgamer. "As reflected in our pricing, we're lowering the barriers of entry to the game and making it easier for fans new and old to check out XCOM: Chimera Squad."Chimera Squad makes several big changes to the franchise's traditional formula. One of the more noticeable adjustments is having a set squad, a change that Firaxis believes is a natural course for the series. "The decision to move toward having unique agents in XCOM: Chimera Squad was partly driven by some of the choices we made in the War of the Chosen expansion for XCOM 2, where you had characters with distinct personalities like the Chosen, Elena Dragunova, and Pratal Mox," the developer said. "Having your full squad composed of unique characters with unique abilities felt like a natural evolution of those decisions."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
