Call of Duty: Warzone has most of the features players have come to expect from battle royale games, including a high player limit and different party sizes, but Duos mode has been mysteriously absent so far from the game's flagship mode. That is going to change in the future, but the game's development team has encountered issues that have delayed its rollout.Speaking to French publication GamerGen (via VGC), Raven Software creative director Amos Hodge explained that there are still bugs that need to be ironed out before it can be implemented into battle royale. He also wants to ensure that the timing is right for the mode and that players are interested in playing new content while building on what was there before. This includes identifying the most popular modes, which will remain in the game as others are swapped in and out. It's this strategy that Warzone's developers are still adjusting, as players have reacted negatively when certain modes, like Trios, have been removed from the game several times. In response, they've been added back in, but too many options could split up the player-base.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It appears the battle royale game Warzone will be supported on the soon-to-release next-generation consoles. Infinity Ward's Taylor Kurosaki told GamerGen that the plan is to support the game for "quite some time," and this will include a release for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X."I know that our plan is Warzone is going to be around for quite some time, so as soon as those new systems are out and available I’m sure we'll support them," he said.Presumably, Infinity Ward is also planning for Modern Warfare to be supported on the next-gen consoles as well. The two games exist in the same universe and are built on similar technology. They share the same Battle Pass, including weapons, items, gear, and more. A new month is here, which means New Releases is taking a wide look at the biggest games May has to offer. There's a lot of variety, as the vocaloid crowd can get down with Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix, and Platinum Games fans can relive a cult-classic action game with The Wonderful 101: Remastered. That's not the only re-release on the horizon, either: both Star Wars Episode I: Racer and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition also launch in May. Last but not least, Minecraft Dungeons is ready to be explored.Star Wars Episode I: Racer -- May 12Available on: SwitchThe racing game you might have played a long, long time ago is back. It's got modern controls, but you'll still be racing across the same tracks as Anakin Skywalker, Sebulba, and more. There's no online multiplayer, unfortunately, but you can race others via splitscreen or the Switch's LAN connection. PS4 players will sadly have to wait a bit longer, as that version of the game has been delayed.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty's free-to-play battle royale game, Warzone, is performing incredibly well right now, and Activision is apparently going to continue to support the game even after the next mainline Call of Duty game comes out later this year. In a new interview, Infinity Ward's Taylor Kurosaki teased that Warzone will be the "through line that connects all the various sub-franchises of Call of Duty."Reading between the lines here, it sounds like Warzone will continue to be supported with content based on the year's new Call of Duty game."We're in kind of uncharted territories here," Kurosaki told GamerGen. "Call of Duty has been on a very regular cadence for many many years, and Warzone has made us rethink exactly how best to release new content and how to integrate it. Call of Duty is a genre in itself, there are different branches in the Call of Duty tree, but they're all connected in some ways. Warzone will be the through line that connects all of the different various sub-franchises of Call of Duty."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Xbox Series X games showcase on May 7 promises to be a big and exciting event, featuring next-generation gameplay footage for a series of titles. But there is something very important to remember. Microsoft has said this event will focus on titles from its "global development partners."This means you should expect to see footage of titles like Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla and others from third-party publishers, but not games from Xbox Games Studios like Halo Infinite.Xbox marketing executive Aaron Greenberg confirmed on Twitter that Microsoft is planning a separate, later event to showcase the work of Microsoft's various Xbox Games Studios teams. The Evo 2020 fighting game tournament is now the latest event to cancel over coronavirus concerns. Event organizers announced the cancellation with a promise of ticket refunds and some form of online event to happen instead. The tournament had been planned to start in late July in Las Vegas and is considered the most prestigious fighting game event in the world. "Due to COVID-19, we are sadly canceling Evo 2020 at Mandalay Bay and refunding all purchased tickets," the statement reads. "But to keep the Evo spirit alive, we're bringing the event online this summer. More information coming soon! The health and well-being of our community is our highest priority. We hope everyone stays safe during this time."The announcement didn't note specifics about the summer event or how it will be scored. Since Evo is a high-level fighting tournament for professionals, face-to-face play is usually preferred to reduce lag and ensure competitive matchups. The rules may need to shift this year to account for players participating from home with their own internet connections.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty games have occasionally featured third-person modes over the years, but 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is not one of them—or it wasn't one of them. A glitch discovered in the game's Survival mode on PS4 turned the game into a third-person shooter for one player, and it shows potential for an official mode.Discovered by Reddit user Tkade14 by accident, the third-person "mode" in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare puts the camera far behind the player-character, and their movement remains smooth enough that it doesn't look like a glitch. The player stuck with a knife for much of the footage and no target reticle made shooting a challenge, but they still managed to take out several enemies first. It isn't the only instance of the glitch happening recently. You can watch another video, also in Survival mode, below.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In early April, veteran voice actor Rick May died after contracting COVID-19. May was known for his work in Star Fox 64 as Peppy Hare, and the actor also played the Soldier character in Team Fortress 2. As a memorial, Valve has included a tribute to May in the game's latest update.Listed only as "a tribute to Rick May, voice of the Soldier" in the game's patch notes, the latest Team Fortress 2 update erected statues on the game's maps as well as a changed main menu theme. Players have been hearing May's voice lines since the game launched over 12 years ago. Some players have decided to pay tribute to May in Team Fortress 2 themselves, as well, choosing to play as Soldier and holding a ceasefire when a match begins. Instead of firing at each other, they instead fire their weapons up into the air while standing at one of the statues. Others have used Source Filmmaker to create their own short films paying tribute to him.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

For as long as there have been talks of an Uncharted movie, there have been calls for Nathan Fillion to play Nathan Drake. The actor's sarcastic demeanor and physical similarities make him a natural fit for the character, and a deepfake video shows just how easily he could settle into the role. Of course, the technology is also downright unsettling.Taking a scene from 2016's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, YouTube user Jarkan used deepfake technology to replace Nathan Drake's computer-generated face with Fillion's. The voice remains the same, and it's extremely difficult to tell the clip has been altered. No other characters were changed for the deepfake. After the scene is played in full, you can view a side-by-side comparison of the deepfake clip compared to the original game. Nathan Drake certainly has a more expressive mouth, but the resemblance is uncanny.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

However, it's unclear how many people watched either movie in their entirety.Netflix originally required a title to be viewed 70 percent or more in order to count for a view, but this has been changed to two minutes or more. It's done to create parity between shorter and longer titles, but could also make it difficult to gauge a film's actual popularity.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
