Microsoft debuted several Xbox Series X games during its latest Inside Xbox presentation. Now as developers and retailers are starting to follow by openly acknowledging the revealed games, we may have gotten a hint of what the box art for Xbox Series X games will look like. The box comes from a placeholder for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which was confirmed as a Series X game compatible with Smart Delivery. Not long after, a piece of placeholder box art appeared online with a few notable visual elements. For the most part, the box looks similar to that of Xbox One games, even including the green stripe across the top of the spine. But that bar simply says Xbox as opposed to Xbox Series X, which fits with Microsoft's prior suggestion that this generation will simply go by the one-word "Xbox" name and Series X is more of a model name.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The PC is the most powerful gaming platform out there, with the potential for higher resolutions, faster frame rates, and better visuals than current consoles can even come close to achieving. It can be very tempting to build your own gaming PC, but if you don't know where to start, it can also be quite intimidating and turn you off entirely. Thankfully, it doesn't have to be that way. PCs are much easier to build than they were in the past, and while it's not as easy as putting together a Lego spaceship, you don't have to be scared of it.That's why we've put together this straightforward guide on how to build a gaming PC. It's intended for those who are a little wary of building their first PC or just need a little refresher of the steps to doing so. We’ll cover everything from the prep phase and picking parts to the actual build and beyond. Of course, due to the current pandemic, many online stores are experiencing product shortages and shipping delays, so be sure to check the estimated delivery date when ordering from stores like Newegg or Amazon.Actually picking your parts can be daunting, especially when you factor in compatibility and power consumption. There are a lot of things to consider, partially because many of your components may rely on your CPU being either from Intel or AMD. Thankfully, PC Part Picker is an invaluable resource that you should absolutely refer to when building a PC. We used the website to build our rig and highly recommend using it for yours. It makes it easy to stay within your budget and lets you know if your components are compatible with each other--it'll even make suggestions if there are issues with your chosen parts.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Like any MMO, part of the experience of playing Destiny 2 is looking awesome. You customize your alien-slaying Guardian with cool armor earned through your various exploits, which you can then colorize with special shaders. But for the most part, if you like a specific armor look, you're also stuck with that armor's statistics--even if they're bad. That'll change in Destiny 2's upcoming fourth year, when Bungie adds a transmogrification option for armor.Bungie made the announcement in its This Week at Bungie blog post. In it, director Luke Smith runs down a number of changes coming to the game over the next few content seasons. Transmogrification is in "early development," Smith said, and is set to get introduced in Year 4, which kicks off in the fall. Bungie hasn't said exactly when the feature will make its way into the game, though, which suggests it could be a while into next year before Guardians become fully customizable. If you're unfamiliar, transmogrification in MMOs is the ability to change a set of armor to look like another set, while retaining the original armor's perks and stats. That changed somewhat in the Shadowkeep expansion, which allowed you buy "Universal Ornaments" for armor from the premium currency Eververse Store that let you change your armor's appearance. But ornaments were only available for purchase. You couldn't get universal ornaments that changed your gear to look like the armor from, say, one of Destiny 2's raids or activities. It basically meant that players were forced to keep multiple sets of armor if they liked different looks, the same way they might keep multiple sets for specific character loadouts.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Recently, new marketing material for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us: Part II emerged, and it shocked some people over its explanation of how the game would seemingly require players to kill dogs to survive in the apocalypse. But that is not necessarily true.Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer clarified on Twitter that the studio had no part in writing or assisting in the creation of the marketing copy that was used by GameStop before being deleted. Meyer said the retailer wrote this text as a form of editorialization to help people get excited about The Last of Us: Part II. In reality, you do not need to kill any dogs to complete the game.So @naughty_dog didn't write or assist writing this. Don't appreciate out of context screenshot crops without mentioning the source. Folks, please google these things! This text came from an independent editorial post from a retailer. It's on their website. https://t.co/nh3nw1StOa — arne (@arnemeyer) May 7, 2020Attack dogs are in fact a new feature in The Last of Us: Part II, but you don't have to kill them to get through the game. Enemies in The Last of Us: Part II will dispatch dogs to sniff you out, and you can choose to kill them, but it isn't necessary to progress.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A whole bunch of changes are in the offing for Destiny 2 in its next content year, with Bungie altering the rewards you can earn in-game and the premium customization items you can purchase. Starting this fall, you'll have new options for customizing your characters and new ways to earn currency to earn premium cosmetics without having to pay for them.Director Luke Smith detailed some of the changes in the latest This Week at Bungie blog post, which include the addition of transmogrification, which will give players a bunch of new armor customization options. The biggest alteration to the Eververse Store, where players can buy cosmetic items for premium currency purchased with real money, is in what it sells. Starting in Year 4, the Eververse Store won't sell items that are share visual themes with items you'd earn from activities such as raids in-game--meaning you won't have to purchase cool looks for certain weapons, armor, or accessories, you'll earn them. You'll also have more ways of earning Bright Dust, the premium currency you can use in the Eververse Store that you get from completing in-game activities, rather than spending real money. Smith writes that Bright Dust will be easier to earn and methods of doing so will be account-specific, rather than character-specific. Right now, players who put time into all three characters on their account can earn more Bright Dust than players who only play with one; Bungie's changes should alter that to make things a little more even for single-player characters.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
