Sucker Punch Productions showed off Ghost of Tsushima in the latest State of Play. The showcase provided an in-depth look at the game and many of its features, one of which is a Japanese voice track that will be available from the very outset of the game. Since the game is set in Japan and the main character, Jin Sakai, is Japanese, this is good news for those that want to immerse themselves deeper into the setting and characters.Jin didn't speak much during the State of Play demonstration, but fans of One Piece may have had their ears perk up when he did. That's because the Japanese voice actor for Jin is Kazuya Nakai, who plays the Straw Hat crew's very own swordsman, Roronoa Zorro. As fans of One Piece will be able to attest to, Nakai's voice is iconic, and, across the series, he has delivered some stunning performances as Zorro, which certainly bodes well for Jin and Ghost of Tsushima. The Japanese voice track for the game also includes the option to turn on subtitles. The English voice actor for Jin, meanwhile, is Daisuke Tsuji, who has previously appeared in Death Stranding, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Prey, and Letters from Iwo Jima.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

As 2020 continues, we're bound to learn more information about next-generation games coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and a recent Inside Xbox stream revealed another game coming to both next-gen consoles. Bandai Namco's upcoming action-RPG Scarlet Nexus will release on both PS5 and Xbox Series X as well as PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and while no release date has been announced, pre-orders are live now, adding Scarlet Nexus to the small but growing number of next-gen game listings we've seen on Amazon and other retailers.Scarlet Nexus takes place in a distant future where a psionic hormone was discovered in the human brain, granting some people extra-sensory powers. However, deranged mutants known as Others have appeared from the sky, thirsting for human brains. Those with powers are recruited to the Other Suppression Force (OSF) and tasked with fighting the Others using their abilities, or "psionics." You'll take on the role of Yuito Sumeragi, a new recruit to the OSF who aims to become a powerful psionic like the one who saved him as a child. In Scarlet Nexus, you'll explore the futuristic city of New Himuka, battle against the Others, and uncover the mysteries of this "Brain Punk" world. As of right now, no pre-order bonuses or special editions have been announced for Scarlet Nexus, but it's possible that will change once we have a set release date for the game. For now, check out everywhere you can already pre-order Scarlet Nexus below.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Halo Infinite will be an Xbox Series X launch game, but we haven't seen any gameplay footage from it yet. When we learned that Xbox would showcase first-party titles for the system in an upcoming Xbox 20/20 presentation in July, we assumed that Halo Infinite would be one of them--and now we have official confirmation. In the latest post on Halo Waypoint, developer 343 Industries states that we'll see more of the game during the upcoming stream. "You may have seen people talking about this lightly before, but we're extremely excited to confirm that Halo Infinite will be one of many first-party titles included in the Xbox 20/20 event in July," the post reads. There's no actual confirmation in thesse words that we'll definitely see gameplay footage here, of course, but it seems inevitable, even if the first Xbox 20/20 showcase did not deliver as promised on that front. There's no specific date for this July presentation, but the first one took place on May 7, and included a mix of new game reveals and port announcements. Halo Infinite will also come to Xbox One and PC before the end of 2020. Hopefully Aaron Greenberg's recent claim that 343 Industries is "cooking up some fire" proves accurate.Info from Gamespot.com

Ubisoft's latest earnings report contains some information about their sales across this console generation, including the franchises and games that have done particularly well. Ubisoft has announced that 11 games across 6 franchises have sold over 10 million units after releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad posted a graphic to Twitter highlighting the company's biggest sellers, and some of them might come as a surprise. Curiously, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag had shipped 10 million units back in 2014, yet does not appear. This could be because it was a cross-generational title, although by that logic Far Cry 4 and Watch Dogs should be disqualified, too. It's possible that those games specifically sold 10 million only on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, though, and that a higher percentage of Black Flag's sales were for other consoles. The phenomenon around Vocaloid-based music and the anime-inspired mascots that personify these synthetic voices is one that brings tremendous joy to many. It's not just because our beloved blue-haired virtual pop idol has been the face for a subsection of Japanese music that we hold so dear--through the Project DIVA rhythm games, Miku has represented our way of personally connecting with hundreds of songs composed by a number of incredibly talented artists. With Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix, we have yet another great collection of genre-defying tunes and all-new bangers that bring the series to Nintendo Switch in familiar, but terrific form.MegaMix's rhythm gameplay system follows that of previous Project DIVA games; note patterns fly in from off-screen to form a continuous string of button prompts that sync to the beat of each song. When you choose to ramp up the difficulty, the face buttons or directional inputs (or any combination thereof) and shoulder button prompts begin to layer over one another at a rapid pace and challenge you to keep up. And it's a gratifying thrill when you've mastered your favorite songs, as if you're playing some role in the performance of the song itself, especially at Hard or Extreme difficulty when the button patterns begin to accentuate every intricate part of the instrumentation."COOL" doesn't even begin to describe the feeling you get from a 340-note combo on Extreme difficulty. The Switch's portable nature makes it convenient to satisfy the impulse to crank out a few songs or get lost in hours of music, much like the desire to jam out for a while on an instrument you play. It's been quite some time since the PS Vita entries and the heavily modified 3DS versions, so the return to handheld form is a welcome one. Thankfully in MegaMix, you can swap out the Switch's letter-designated face button prompts to instead show up as either the appropriate directional arrows or as PlayStation's face button symbols (which is absolutely necessary since rapidly processing Nintendo's lettered-button prompts can throw you for a loop). Getting the timing right to rack up your score and the highest possible combo is nonetheless fulfilling as a long-time fan even though it very much shares the DNA of the ones I've poured hours into on Sony platforms. It's a tried-and-true foundation, but it's no less joyous here in MegaMix.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's been five years since Batman: Arkham Knight concluded the trilogy of highly-regarded games featuring the iconic comic book character, and fans are starting to get antsy. While developer Rocksteady Games have been tight-lipped about offering any details about its "next big project," the Twitter account of WB Games Montreal--which developed the 2013 series prequel Batman: Arkham Origins--tweeted some interesting concept art back in late 2019 and January of this year that seemed to imply another entry in the Arkham series. Now, the studio has tweeted for the first time in four months to share a job posting seeking an animator. Shortly after that, it tweeted again with a statement that seemed to tease that it will be a while until we hear any more news about its next project. "Thank you very much for the enthusiasm for our next project. At this time, our channel will showcase the studio," it reads in part.Thank you very much for the enthusiasm for our next project. At this time, our channel will showcase the studio: Who we are and why we love making games! Those feelings came to a head last week, when Geoff Keighley confirmed that an upcoming announcement wasn't going to be a new Batman game. That announcement ended up being a remaster of the first two Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games.Info from Gamespot.com

Gearbox rolled out its revised Mayhem Mode for Borderlands 3 a few weeks ago, and since then it's been making minor improvements and revisions based on player feedback. The studio is also working on larger-scale adjustments, as detailed in a new blog post covering Mayhem and general quality-of-life changes. The studio says the feedback it hears most often is about difficulty, gear balancing, scaled damage sources, and build diversity. To address these, it will be rolling out updates in two distinct phases. The first will deal with the stat scaling and gear changes between different Mayhem levels. Starting with the next Takedown update, enemy health, armor, and shield stat bonuses will be scaled down in higher Mayhem levels, and both under- and overperforming gear will be rebalanced. This update will also introduce a new line in the item card that will identify which Mayhem level you received a piece of gear from. The second phase will focus on character balance and diversifying builds. Non-weapon sources of damage like action skills, melee, and vehicle damage will all scale with Mayhem levels, and Grenade Mods will drop as Mayhem gear with bonuses. The update will also bring bonus Skill Damage into Class Mods, giving those an even bigger boost. Vending machines and chests will also start spitting out gear that's correctly leveled for your current Mayhem level, but Gearbox says it will take time to implement and test that functionality.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While Matt Reeves' upcoming movie, The Batman, may be delayed thanks to the global production shutdowns caused by COVID-19 (coronavirus), actors involved have been teasing hints about what fans can expect once movie-making resumes. Andy Serkis, who plays Bruce Wayne's loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, sat down with LADbible to offer some new clues."It's very much about the emotional connection between Alfred and Bruce," Serkis said, "That's really at the centre of it. The next Rainbow Six Siege season, Operation Steel Wave, has been teased on the game's Twitter account. No details have been confirmed, but the reveal features Morse code and two distant figures... --- ...... --- ...... --- ... pic.twitter.com/AU5kAPoCgF — Rainbow Six Siege (@Rainbow6Game) May 13, 2020The Morse code translates to "IOS / SOS / SOS." Of course, "SOS" is universally known as the distress signal, likely meaning someone or something is calling for help in Rainbow Six Siege. "IOS" is harder to define.Additionally, looking at the teaser, there are two figures in the back. This seems to suggest that the game will receive two new Operators of some kind. Further, the figures are surrounded by what seems to be steel jutting out of the ground in a smiliar fashion to Remedy Entertainment's Control or Quantum Break. It is possible this alludes to a new, steel-like map of some sort.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With Epic Games revealing its next-generation-ready Unreal Engine 5, more of the capabilities of both the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X have come into focus. Specifically, their custom storage solutions, with Epic's Tim Sweeney saying PCs aren't able to replicate them today. In an interview with The Verge, Sweeney explained that the PS5 and its custom SSD solution will inform the future of PCs, and that no commercially available products can replicate the speed Sony has achieved yet."The storage architecture on the PS5 is far ahead of anything you can buy on anything on PC for any amount of money right now," said Sweeney. "It's going to help drive future PCs. [The PC market is] going to see this thing ship and say, 'Oh wow, SSDs are going to need to catch up with this.'"Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Division 2's delayed 9.1 update will now arrive on Thursday, May 14. Ahead of its release, Ubisoft has shared the update's patch notes, detailing all of the tweaks and bug fixes being made to the loot shooter this week.As Ubisoft previously teased, title update 9.1 is primarily "intended to eliminate outliers with NPC weapons, abilities, and behaviours." As certain status effects inflicted by NPCs were "too strong," Ubisoft has reduced the damage players receive from the Burn and Bleed effects. Likewise, NPC grenade accuracy has been reduced, as has the damage output of NPC blindfire.Other notable adjustments pertain to NPC aggressiveness. Ubisoft says it has "reduced frequency and aggressiveness of NPC behavior to advance on hidden targets." The studio has also "further lowered likelihood of Tank archetypes to rush towards Player Hives/Turrets" and nerfed certain NPC healing abilities.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's an interesting time to shop for the best VR headset. A slow start and varying approaches to virtual reality from companies like Samsung, HTC, and Google has finally given way to a more stable industry, and interest in VR gaming has spiked considerably among gamers. Half-Life: Alyx was a big reason for that, but it's not the only great VR game out there, and there are still plenty on their way. The PlayStation VR-exclusive Iron Man VR recently got a new release date of July 3, and if you're interested in snagging a PlayStation VR bundle, there are some in stock at the moment. Valve's own Index headset is accepting orders that are expected to ship in eight-weeks time, though thankfully, Oculus has also restocked its popular Quest VR headset. Oculus Quest orders will ship June 17, but be sure to act fast as quantities are limited.Yes, the Valve Index is a popular VR headset, but it's not the only one out there. Each VR headset out there right now has unique qualities like high resolutions, AMOLED displays, or built-in speakers. Most also come with touch and motion controllers, VR headphones, and more. We know it can be an intimidating purchase if you're not already plugged into the VR gaming community. That's why we're on the case to help you figure out what the best VR headset is right for you, depending on your needs.Whether you're looking for a VR headset you can play anywhere (and want something better than the Samsung Gear), a high-end headset for the most immersive experience and motion controls on your gaming PC, or something in between, there are plenty of options to choose from. While the early days of VR headsets had us choosing between the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, more companies have entered the space. Valve stepped out on its own with the Index, Samsung created a Windows Mixed Reality headset with the Samsung HMD Odyssey+, and Sony released its PS4-only PlayStation VR, which has proved fairly popular about PlayStation players.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
