Here is what Disney has planned for the month of June.The biggest release for next month is none other than Artemis Fowl. Back in April Disney announced the film would be skipping theaters and going right to the streaming service, as the COVID-19 pandemic is keeping theaters closed. Based on the book series by Eoin Colfer, and arriving on June 12, the film follows the preteen genius Artemis Fowl, "a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he desperately tries to save his father who has been kidnapped. In order to pay his ransom, Artemis must infiltrate an ancient, underground civilization--the amazingly advanced world of fairies--and bring the kidnapper the Aculos, the fairies' most powerful and coveted magical device. To locate the elusive object, cunning Artemis concocts a dangerous plan—so dangerous that he ultimately finds himself in a perilous war of wits with the all-powerful fairies."Additionally, the final three episodes of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian arrive on June 5, 12, and 19. If you've been playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a few weeks now, you've probably noticed that a special NPC visits your island each day. The April update even added two more visitors to the mix: Leif, who sells shrubs and flower seeds, and Jolly Redd, who sells art. However, you might not be seeing Redd--or some of the other desirable NPCs--very often. According to datamining, that's due to how the visitor schedule works.Twitter user @_Ninji, who has shared accurate, datamined information about much of New Horizons, explained how special visitors work in a brief thread. When auditioning to get the roles they want, sometimes actors make strange choices. For instance, Anne Hathaway went into her The Dark Knight Rises audition dressed as Harley Quinn, before realizing she was there for the role of Catwoman. Sometimes, though, it's not the actor's idea to do strange things when auditioning. Take Nicholas Hoult, for example.The actor has played the role of Hank "Beast" McCoy in four different X-Men movies, beginning with 2011's X-Men: First Class. To get that role, a peculiar request was made of Hoult. "[Director] Matthew Vaughn asked me to do a couple of takes in an American accent as you kind of saw the character. But then also do a take doing an impression of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy," he remembered in an interview with GQ.Thankfully, Hoult knew the show well. "I had watched a lot of Family Guy in my teen years growing up, so I was like, 'OK, I think I've got a pretty good impression of Stewie Griffin lined up,'" he said. Add another name to the list of new cast members for Season 2 of The Mandalorian. The Disney+ Star Wars TV show has already wrapped filming and there have been plenty of reports about new additions, from the first live-action portrayal of Ahsoka Tano to the iconic character Boba Fett. Now another acclaimed actor is reportedly being added to the list.According to a report from Variety, Deadwood and Justified star Timothy Olyphant has been cast for the show. If you're wondering who he's going to play, those details are being kept a secret for now. Big changes are coming in Destiny 2's fourth year, and new details have shown just how much they're going to affect players and the loot they've been chasing. According to Bungie's latest rundown of what's to come, some of the best, most sought-after and most-used guns in the game will become obsolete in the coming months. That includes The Recluse, The Mountaintop, Luna's Howl, Not Forgotten, and more.In its This Week at Bungie blog post, the developer outlined new details about changes to its weapon and armor Power system that will be visible in Season 11, which starts in June, and go into full effect in Season 12, which kicks off in the fall. A TV show based on the John Wick movies has been in development for some time now. The series, titled The Continental, was first announced back in 2017, and it's been a while since there was any news about it. However, it seems the series is still happening, and now John Wick director Chad Stahelski has spoken about what we can expect from it.In an interview with Fandom, Stahelski explained that the show will have a much broader focus than the movies and will explore the assassins underworld in greater detail. With Grand Theft Auto 5 being given away for free on the Epic Games Store today, the digital store has been receiving a substantial amount of traffic. It is getting so much traffic, in fact, that it has completely crashed before the game was even made available, which is even leading to problems for those trying to play Fortnite and other games through the Epic Games Launcher.We are currently experiencing high traffic on the Epic Games Store. Developer Gearbox Software will roll out a quick hotfix update for Borderlands 3 on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One later today, May 14, that addresses some community concerns and more. We've compiled the full patch notes below.The leading feature of this hotfix update is the continuation of the looter-shooter's mini-event, Loot the Universe. The event will now take place on the lost Eridian planet of Nekrotafeyo until May 21, where you can farm Legendary Eridian weapons and get the chance to score other Legendary gear types (such as class mods, artifacts, shields, grenade mods, and more).The patch also makes some adjustments based on community feedback. Nvidia's GTC 2020 keynote was delivered from the kitchen of CEO Jensen Huang, but the scaled-back presentation didn't mean the content was lacking. Although Nvidia has yet to reveal its new gaming-focused GPUs, it did focus on what will power them.Ampere is the latest Nvidia processing architecture that will move from 12nm down to 7nm, akin to the jump AMD performed with its RX 5000 line of GPUs. The shift should theoretically bring with it a jump in performance, as Nvidia can now fit more transistors onto the processor. Ampere's A100 system board already has 54 billion transistors on it, making it the largest 7nm processor in production.Nvidia didn't go into detail about what that means for gaming specifically, or if the A100 board would be used as-is in its next-generation cards. But it did announce an update to the AI-processing Tensor cores on its current Turning -powered RTX GPUs. The mobile game Elder Scrolls Blades has finally been ported to the handheld hybrid Nintendo Switch, following an announcement last year. The dungeon-crawler is free-to-play.Blades is an action role-playing game that takes place in first-person perspective like other Elder Scrolls games. It's more combat-focused than the other games, however, with encounters making up the bulk of gameplay. It also isn't as free-roaming as some of its counterparts.As detailed in the Nintendo Eshop listing, you can customize your character, take part in Arena battles against single opponents, or travel into the Abyss for an endless challenge. It has cross-play so you can join up with your friends on mobile devices, and cross-save in case you've already started it elsewhere or just want to swap back and forth.
