As it did back in February, developer Niantic is letting players vote on what the featured Pokemon will be for June and July's Community Days. This time around, rather than casting votes by completing in-game Field Research tasks, players will simply be able to vote for their Pokemon of choice via a Twitter poll, which will be live from May 23-24. There will be four candidates to choose from; the one that receives the most votes will be June's featured Pokemon, while the runner-up will be July's.🗳️ Community Day voting is coming back with some changes!⭐ Votes will be collected via a Twitter poll hosted on our official channels.⭐ The two Pokémon with the most votes will be featured in June and July #PokemonGOCommunityDay. https://t.co/4BMD5ZOVen pic.twitter.com/kzdKb1MT7x — Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) May 18, 2020The four candidates, and the Community Day moves they'd be able to learn if selected, are as follows:Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Reggie Fils-Aime retired as Nintendo of America president in early 2019, and since then he's become prolific on Twitter and taken up a board position with GameStop. He's also started a seven-part podcast series, Talking Games with Reggie and Harold, alongside journalist Harold Goldberg. It's available on Soundcloud, or you can also listen to it on Apple Podcasts and other podcatcher services, like Pocket Casts and Stitcher--just search for "New York Videogame Critics Circle".In the first episode, Fils-Aime shares some anecdotes about his time with Nintendo, and what it was like becoming the frontman for the company's western operations. He also says that he almost messed up his own hiring by demanding to speak with then-president Satoru Iwata during his interview process. Iwata would become a good friend of his, but Fils-Aime was not meant to speak with him during these proceedings, as Iwata would not be his direct superior.Fils-Aime reveals the reason why he needed to speak with Iwata--because of his doubts about the company. "I needed to feel comfortable with where the company was going," he says. Nintendo was struggling at the time with the GameCube, which was pacing far behind the PlayStation 2. "While the handheld business was dominated by the Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo was driving that part of the business, on the home console side things were challenging," he recalls.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is in the works for the launch of both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (as well as PC and current systems), and it's going to introduce a few changes to the Assassin's Creed formula. The two most recent games in the series, Origins and Odyssey, have taken the series in a new direction by melding the action gameplay with RPG elements. Valhalla isn't necessarily dropping those, but it sounds like progression will be a bit different in the new game.Talking to Kotaku, creative director Ashraf Ismail has delved into the game's progression system, as well as how new missions will be doled out, among other details. Ismail says that one of the goals with this game is to prevent players from hitting progression walls, so that you're less likely to need to grind to level up."We have a new take on progression in this game," Ismail says. "We have more the concept of power, power that is gained through, let’s say, the player gaining skills." He wants to avoid "big progression walls" with this game, so that players can explore freely without being held back too much. As we've previously reported, Valhalla is ditching a traditional leveling system in favor of a new "power" measurement. Ismail would not say whether the game would have an XP booster DLC, like Odyssey, simply stating that the developer wanted to "earn every single penny that you’re going to pay" for Valhalla.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
