Dead Island 2 has been in development hell for several years and has shifted studios multiple times, but it appears the first version by Yager Development was actually pretty far along before it got canceled. An unfinished build for Dead Island 2 has found its way online via 4Chan, and was originally from June 2015. Players have begun uploading footage, which features voice acting, first-person combat, and much of the world seemingly complete. Survivors hack and slash through multiple zombies, with blood gushing but not all gore implemented yet. Some obstacles sport a green, flat look instead of finished textures, as do certain buildings.Though basic, it certainly seemed like the game was going to be in line with what the first Dead Island and its standalone sequel Dead Island: Riptide offered. The original game was developed by Techland, which then broke off to create Dying Light. A sequel to that game is also in development at the moment, but it seems much more ambitious than the original and puts more emphasis on story and a dynamic world.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After you convince K.K. Slider to visit your island for the first time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (and unlock the ability to terraform), the wandering musician will return there every Saturday night to perform a small concert, just like in previous Animal Crossing games. You'll find him sitting in front of your Resident Services building all day, but he'll only play music for you between 6 PM and midnight. As in past titles, you can either let K.K. play a random song or request to hear a specific tune, and he'll give you a record of the first song he plays that night. While you can purchase most of these songs through the Nook Shopping terminal, there are a handful of "secret" songs that K.K. will only play by request, so if you want to get your hands on those records, you'll need to specifically request them.Below, we've rounded up the full list of K.K. Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The secret songs that K.K. only plays by request are denoted in bold. Keep in mind that you'll need to type each song title out as it is written below (meaning you need to have the proper punctuation and capitalization) when requesting the songs; if you spell the title incorrectly, K.K. will instead play a backup song that you can't take home as a record and say he didn't understand your request.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Acquiring them also relies quite a bit on chance, as you'll primarily need to shoot them down from balloons or find them washed up in bottles.Since the summer shell recipes are only around for a brief period, you'll want to get your hands on them while you can. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are set to release this year, kicking off the next generation of consoles, and our first look at what the PS5 will be capable of came from a demonstration of Unreal Engine 5. But producing such highly detailed graphics will not come cheap, and could lead to an increase in the development cost of AAA games.Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan has talked to gamesindustry.biz about the cost of creating a game that will look like the Unreal Engine 5 reveal video, "Lumen in the Land of Nanite" (see our breakdown below), will cost a lot."I think, to the extent that the technology enables the graphics side of it to become more interesting and life-like, [the games] will become slightly more human intensive and capital intensive to produce," Ryan told the site, noting that there will "probably will be an increase in development budgets." However, he doesn't expect these changes to be too extreme. "We don't see it as being a massive increase," he says.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Thanks to some Japanese-language news sources, we now know the nature of the big Sega reveal that was teased for this week's Famitsu. The publisher is working on some kind of initiative that it's dubbed "fog gaming." While it's not exactly clear what that is--or if it's comparable to cloud gaming services like Google Stadia--according to analyst Serkan Toto, it will likely involve using the guts of arcade machines during off-hours. They'll be good for more than just playing Dig-Dug and Street Fighter now. According to this news source in Japan (https://t.co/mWggsCOmIS), Sega is working on a new kind of platform they apparently dub "Fog Gaming".That term is NOT the Japanese equivalent of cloud gaming, but no further infos as of now.Sega is having a weird day. https://t.co/jYoqaUBD6O — Dr. Serkan Toto / Kantan Games Inc. (@serkantoto) June 3, 2020Article now with info:- yes, "Fog Gaming" is the "scoop"- Sega will use arcades in Japan as the technical backbone- CPUs and GPUs housed in arcade machines are mentioned specifically- ultra-low latency is touted- commercial idea is to use arcades outside business hours https://t.co/LWOiYuDAYj — Dr. Serkan Toto / Kantan Games Inc. (@serkantoto) June 3, 2020Given that arcades are far more common in Japan than elsewhere, it's unclear how much of an impact that this service could have in the Americas or Europe.Sega also announced a new console for Japan, the miniaturized throwback Game Gear Micro. The extremely tiny console will come in four different color options, each with its own set of games. The console will launch on October 6 in Japan, and there's no word on a release in the West. Still, if you've ever wanted OutRun literally in the palm of your hand, this might be your best bet.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Update: Well, it's over. Rasputin destroyed the Almighty, and after a long wait as missiles arced through the sky and then finally slammed into the ship, the Almighty was torn apart, crashing in the mountains just beyond the Tower. Some debris came down near the Last City, but the crisis was averted. If you missed it, you can still see the wreckage of the Almighty in the distance from the back of the Tower, opposite where Zavala stands. Debris is still falling from the sky and the ship is still burning, but it's not clear if there might be more going on with the Almighty--perhaps visiting the crash site--in the future. Watch the embedded video to see what happened if you couldn't be there in-game.Visit Zavala to unlocks some new dialogue about what happened. You can also talk to Ana Bray on Mars to get another bit of story, although her dialogue is in text form. Beside Zavala on the left is the small amount of damage the Almighty managed to do to the Tower, in the form of a hole that was ripped in a wall. Hop down into it and you'll be prompted to "Inspect the Crash Site." Doing so will earn you a commemorative emblem, "Seraph's Wings," for taking part in the Season of the Worthy and helping to destroy the Almighty.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Over the past few weeks, a number of posts from prominent Fortnite leakers have suggested that the upcoming Chapter 2 Season 3 will have players dive underwater to battle it out. Now, the most compelling evidence yet has emerged, further suggesting what's to come following the upcoming Doomsday event. Get your swimsuit and flippers ready, because it looks like the game will be heading underwater--at least a little. A Twitter user recently noticed that the PlayStation Store had mistakenly changed Fortnite's icon on the storefront ahead of time, and it depicts the familiar battle bus slipping beneath the sea. It wouldn't be the first underwater foray for the game, as players were plunged beneath the surface as part of the recent Travis Scott event.#Fortnite Season 3 Icon Has Been Leaked On Playstation! 👀 pic.twitter.com/CNitJdP1qc — Fortnite News (@FortniteBRFeed) June 1, 2020The start date for Fortnite's Season 3 has just been changed again and will begin on June 17. Editor's note: This review is currently in progress to allow more time to experience more of Valorant in a post-launch environment. We'll update and finalize the review as the author digs deeper and plays more of the game.Think Counter-Strike with hero elements. That's the elevator pitch for Valorant, Riot Games' first foray into competitive first-person shooters. I say that not to disparage Valorant, though. In fact, that's what I love most about it, especially since it executes on the formula extremely well. Valorant thrives because of tight, tactical gameplay and a mix of character-based abilities that provide a necessary strategic layer. Although it's a slim package with limited features and barren presentation, Valorant has the potential to be great. The core mode of Valorant revolves around five-on-five matches where one team (defenders) defends bomb sites while the other (attackers) tries to plant at bomb sites, switching sides about halfway through a best-of-25. The stakes are high as everyone gets only one life per round, and the focus on precise gunplay with low time-to-kill leaves little margin for error. You also have to consider the team's economy--depending on performance, money gets distributed to players each round which is used to buy gear before the round commences. This factors into a team's decision to buy better equipment or save for future rounds. In turn, each round ratchets up the intensity as the tide of advantage can shift at any moment or between rounds.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Epic Games is gearing up for another huge Fortnite event to mark the end of Chapter 2, Season 2. Officially called "The Device," the upcoming finale--popularly referred to as the Doomsday live event--is still mostly a mystery, at least based on what we know officially. The Doomsday event was supposed to have already taken place, but following a delay to the start of Season 3, Epic also pushed back the event. Now, as of June 3, Epic has opted to delay both the event and new season once again. Here's the full rundown on what we know about Doomsday, when it will start, how to watch or participate, and more. What Is The Doomsday Live Event? The much-rumored "Doomsday Device" that Fortnite players and leakers have been discussing for the past few weeks is at the core of this event, with some speculating that the large orb-shaped device with pipes running everywhere in Midas's office is The Device. The introduction of the Storm the Agency challenges in the game's latest update might suggest that Team Shadow may soon usurp Team Ghost in the Agency, which could lead to the device being triggered. When Is The Doomsday Event? The Doomsday live event takes place on June 15. A specific start time has not been shared; the previous date was set to take place at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET, but this latest delay shifts the event from the weekend to a weekday, so it's unclear if that time will be adjusted. The new season will kick off just two days later, so you won't have to wait too long before getting major changes to battle royale. Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

If you're building a gaming PC, then one thing that you can't be without is a solid-state drive. SSDs deliver the fastest speeds, and in addition to moving files and performing tasks, they also load games and stream open worlds at a much faster rate than disk-based hard drives. This results in quick loading times and stutter-free open-world gameplay, something that's harder for your PC to handle with an HDD.However, selecting a solid-state drive for your PC isn't as easy as just buying the first one you see. There are a few different types of SSDs that you should know about before you pick the right one. SATA SSDs are the most common and require you to connect them to your power supply and motherboard's SATA ports. M.2 SSDs are a faster option and require you to plug them into the M.2 slots on your motherboard--you'll want to make sure your motherboard has M.2 slots prior to your purchase.M.2 SSDs also come in a number of different configurations. M.2 SATA is the slowest, as it uses the same standard that hard drives have used for years. M.2 PCIe, on the other hand, is much faster. Most M.2 PCIe SSDs make use of the NVMe memory standard, which lets the SSDs read and write at their full speed potential. Both M.2 SATA and M.2 PCIe can be inserted into the same slots on your motherboard, but you'll likely benefit more from an M.2 PCIe SSD because of that extra speed. M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs typically cost more, but you can often find NVMe SSDs at a lower price than their regular, thanks to sales.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
