If you've been following news of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, you know that the consoles are still extremely difficult to find in stock. While retailers have been selling a handful of consoles online per week, they've been even rarer at physical stores. According to a new report, though, Best Buy may be preparing to sell the PS5 and Xbox Series X at some of its stores this week.According to reporting from TechRadar, Best Buy will have stock of the Xbox Series X and the disc drive version of the PS5 in stores on Thursday, September 24, which will be for the first time in over a month. If the retailer lets customers actually purchase a PS5 or Xbox Series X in person (as opposed to ordering it online ahead of pick up), it would be one of the first instances of a major chain selling them in stores since last year.TechRadar's story suggests that Best Buy still has not indicated whether it will allow people to buy them in stores. Previously, the retailer has made customers buy them online and wait a few days before picking them up in person; however, Best Buy's recent stockpiling of inventory may be in preparation for in-store shopping. Regardless, the report says Best Buy is planning on putting the consoles on sale on Thursday, September 24. This means you might have to get ready to line up Thursday morning for your shot at getting your hands on one.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty: Vanguard's final beta weekend is still live and extended until September 22 across all platforms, but players are already facing off against hackers. This is Call of Duty: Vanguard's second multiplayer beta weekend, and it added cross-play across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Unfortunately, it also brought the nefarious hackers, who are ruining matches with the usual mix of cheats, such as aimbot and wallhacks to see and shoot opponents through walls. Some players are also posting clips of hackers ending the matches early, which are abruptly concluded with the message that the host ended the game.Wait this cheater had walls in the Vanguard Beta and when we called him out he made the whole game end. I'm actually mindblowd! pic.twitter.com/2rz9ARSOVd — EasyStomps (@EasyStomps) September 19, 2021Activision continuously works to ban cheaters in Call of Duty, with over 100,000 accounts already banned, and it seems players who have already been hardware banned for Warzone are finding they are also banned in the Vanguard beta. While this does help to reduce the number of cheaters, players are still encountering plenty of hackers in Call of Duty.Hacking in the Vanguard beta is very concerning, but hopefully the cheaters will be better kept at bay once Call of Duty's new anti-cheat system arrives later this year with integration of the new Warzone Pacific map.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Nvidia has been steadily growing its library of games that make use of DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, to help improve performance across a wide range of compatible cards. It's still incredibly impressive technology, and arguably one of the best reasons to stick with Nvidia's latest GPU offerings over AMD. And today, that list got substantially larger thanks to Unreal Engine.Unreal Engine had its DLSS plugin released several months ago, and the benefits are already being felt today. A total of 28 new games are getting DLSS support with Nvidia's latest Game Ready Driver for GeForce GPUs, bringing the total to over 100 games. New games with DLSS support include the imminent Alan Wake Remastered, Industria, and Severed Steel, among many others.Nvidia provided some internal testing figures for Alan Wake Remastered, showing how its DLSS performance settings can double frame rates on most GPUs that support it. On an RTX 2080 Ti, for example, the game jumps from just over 70fps to 120fps at 4K and max quality settings thanks to DLSS, which renders the game at a lower internal resolution and then reconstructs it using deep learning algorithms.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Diablo II: Resurrected will bring Blizzard's 2000 action-RPG classic into the modern age when it releases later this month, complete with updated visuals and small quality-of-life changes. What it won't have, at least at launch, is new content, but that's something that could come down the line according to a new developer interview. As part of a group media interview (via Windows Central), Vicarious Visions studio design director Rob Gallerani and project lead Michael Bukowski discussed the creation of Diablo II: Resurrected and also touched on what the future might hold. Gallerani said the team is focused on getting the core game right first, but that there are plenty of ideas for what could come next."We wanted to build a really strong foundation before we started talking about the third and fourth floors on this building," Gallerani said. "If we misstepped on what the core game was, anything else we were doing would have been kind of meaningless. [...]We definitely have lots of ideas, but right now we're waiting to make sure that we get the core game right. [...] We'll have to see once the game goes live what we do about new runewords, new items, rebalancing, things like that."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Rumors suggest that there is another Star Wars game in the works, this one developed by Quantic Dream, which previously worked on Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human. The rumors began when French YouTuber Gautoz posted a video in which he claimed that Quantic Dream might be working on a Star Wars game, which was picked up by VGC.Shortly after, Tom Henderson of DualShockers posted an article stating that an independent source provided evidence that the game was real and had been in development for the past 18 months, which Kotaku was able to corroborate from its own sources. The Star Wars game in question is supposedly different from Quantic Dream's other, quick-time event-heavy games, like Detroit: Become Human. Instead, the game will have more traditional action gameplay, possibly in an open-world environment and with multiplayer elements.Quantic Dream, helmed by studio head David Cage, announced back in 2019 that it would be ending its deal with PlayStation and working on multiplatform titles moving forward. Similarly, earlier this year Lucasfilm Games announced that Electronic Arts will no longer be the exclusive developer of Star Wars games and announced that Ubisoft has an open-world Star Wars title in the works. It was also recently announced that Aspyr is working on a full remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
