The series, which has traditionally debuted new releases in September, will instead release its latest game in October this year. An exact date has not been announced. In a post on the game's website, the community team has promised that we'll get a definite release date, a first look, and "plans for the next-gen consoles" in August, and NHL 21 has been confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X will not receive their own versions, but the game will be playable on those systems through backwards compatibility. The delay has come due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has slowed work on the game.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Anthony and Joe Russo directed Avengers: Endgame, which went on to be the highest-grossing film of all time. The Russo brothers have since produced Extraction, the most successful Netflix original movie, and have just broken yet another record for the highest budget for a Netflix movie with their new project, The Gray Man. But there's one thing that would pull them back to Marvel.Talking to Bro Bible, the Russos were questioned about earlier comments they've made about Secret Wars, an 80s comic run in which a cosmic entity transports many of Marvel's heroes to the planet "Battleworld" to fight against various foes. According to Joe Russo, this comic was big for him as a child--and he'd love to help realize it on-screen."I read that when I was 10 or 11, and it was the scale of getting all of the heroes together," Joe recalls. "It was one of the first major books to do that--that was really event-storytelling to me at its finest." He also enjoyed that the heroes and villains had to team up at various points. "(Anthony) and I like complicated relationships between heroes and villains, we like villains who believe they’re heroes in their own stories," he says.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In the 26 years since Revolution Software released Beneath A Steel Sky, the adventure game has come full circle. After the genre struggled to adapt into 3D and was briefly declared dead by pundits, the genre's resurgence occurred on two main fronts--the simplified, story-driven 3D games of Telltale, which focused on choice and consequence over puzzles, and retro-styled 2D games released like Unavowed, Kathy Rain, and Broken Age, which included a lot of the esoteric puzzle-solving the genre used to be known for. Beyond A Steel Sky, the long-awaited sequel to the 1994 original, is an attempt to bridge the gap between those two styles--but unfortunately, it ends up feeling like some of the messier 3D adventure games from 20 years ago rather than another classic like its predecessor.Beyond A Steel Sky brings back Robert Foster, the protagonist of the first game, and picks up 10 years after his escape from Union City and LINC, the half-mechanical, half-organic being that runs it. Robert has returned to the "gaplands" surrounding the city, where he lives a happy, earnest life within a small society. However, he's soon forced to return to Union City after a young friend, Milo, is kidnapped by a huge robot and taken somewhere in the sprawling metropolis. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Australia, but references to the country are unfortunately fleeting, despite the game's aesthetic invocation of the British colonization of the country--the gaplanders are largely people of colour, and Union City is predominantly white. At first, it's great to be back in the world of Steel Sky. The nods to the first game start flowing in from the first moments--like the original game, the opening is made up of comic panels drawn by Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons, whose most famous work receives a few fun nods and Easter eggs throughout the game. Joey, Robert's robotic sidekick, also returns, and seeing these two characters reunited is one of the game's highlights. The city, which is rendered in glorious 3D is lovely, too--the skyline stretches far into the background, and the cel-shaded aesthetic suits it.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ghost of Tsushima is a pretty forgiving game in terms of Trophies, all things considered. Despite there being a ton of collectibles, most Trophies don't require you to find all of them--only the most important ones that usually have a direct impact on gameplay. There are a few hidden Trophies that require you to explore the game a little more, but they're usually not too tough to figure out. And then there's the game's toughest challenge: the Cooper Clan Cosplayer Trophy. This hidden Trophy gives you very little to go on if you check it in the Ghost of Tsushima Trophy list. It suggests you need to "dress up as a legendary thief." The name of the Trophy and its description are references to Sucker Punch's Sly Cooper franchise, in which players take on the role of a heist-pulling raccoon--but figuring out exactly what you need Jin to wear in order to conjure up Sly Cooper's classic yellow-and-blue costume can be tough.Luckily, we've found literally everything in Ghost of Tsushima: every piece of armor, every piece of vanity gear, and every sword kit. We've hit 100% completion in the game and even unlocked the Platinum Trophy, and we figured out how to earn the Cooper Clan Cosplayer Trophy. Here's exactly what you need to wear to unlock it and how to find all the pieces.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Warning! Information about one of these hidden Trophies is a spoiler for a story beat toward the end of Act 2 of Ghost of Tsushima's main quest line. We've left it at the bottom of this list and blocked out key info to help you remain unspoiled, but we recommend you proceed with caution if you don't want to know anything about what might happen. You'll earn a whole bunch of Trophies as you explore the world of Ghost of Tsushima, and if you're the kind of completionist who likes to unlock everything, you'll find plenty to seek out in the game. But in addition to Trophies unlocked for completing story missions and discovering locations that upgrade your abilities, there are also several tougher-to-get hidden Trophies that require extra effort.Ghost of Tsushima's hidden Trophies can be tough to find and unlock--some of them are the hardest to get in the game. The good news is, we've unlocked them all and earned the coveted Platinum Trophy in Ghost of Tsushima, and solved every puzzle along the way. Here's a rundown of every hidden Trophy in the game and what it takes to unlock them.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In Ghost of Tsushima, protagonist Jin's actions will actually influence the weather--and we don't just mean when he plays his flute, a mechanic which allows you to switch between sunny, foggy, rainy, and storms whenever you want. No, how you choose to fight the Mongols will change the weather as well.In an interview with Ghost of Tsushima creative director Nate Fox, he told me, "The game is definitely scripted to provide more storms as you do things which are extremely Ghost driven."It's a rather clever feature. Jin is an unrelenting force of nature in Ghost of Tsushima, abandoning his identity to embrace the symbolic power of the Ghost in order to defeat the Mongols via means that lack honor. At the start of the game, you'll likely defeat most enemies with the tools of the samurai as they'll be all you have access to. But as encounters increase in difficulty and you unlock new Ghost skills, the game naturally encourages you to adopt a more stealth-focused approach.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ghost of Tsushima has no lock-on mechanic, encouraging players to remain in the middle of a fight as opposed to keeping all enemies in front of them, so as to keep an eye on all possible threats. In an interview with Ghost of Tsushima creative director Nate Fox, I asked him why Sucker Punch chose to not include a lock-on mechanic."Well working on the combat, we watched samurai films, which are of course an inspiration for the feeling of this game," Fox answered. "And the fighters in those movies will often have to switch their attention very fluidly from one incoming foe to another. So the combat is built around dealing with a variety of enemies, a group of them."Though you will face other foes, you will primarily fight against Mongols in Ghost of Tsushima. "We tried to give [the Mongols] a feeling of being like a wolf pack that would surround you," Fox said. "And only through skill, could you fend them off as they came at you from all sides. If we had a lock-on you wouldn't have been able to move as quickly between the different opponents as they came in at you."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It seems like a lifetime ago now, but last summer, Nintendo offered a nice--and all-too-brief--game voucher program for Nintendo Switch Online members. Subscribers could purchase a pair of vouchers for $100 USD and redeem those for select Nintendo-published games from the Switch Eshop, saving up to $20 off of their regular combined price--a nice chunk of change considering how rarely Nintendo drops the price of its titles, particularly digital versions, which seldom go on sale even when their physical counterparts are discounted at other retailers.Of course, if you only purchased one set of vouchers, then the program was a bit of a wash as your savings would amount to the cost of a Switch Online subscription (and you could often find physical copies of some of the eligible titles at an even steeper discount on Amazon or at another retailer). If you were already a subscriber, however, it was a tempting perk, especially if you preferred to buy games digitally. Moreover, you weren't required to use both vouchers immediately, so you could save them for upcoming titles and snag Nintendo's newest releases effectively for $10 off.Unfortunately, the voucher program was short-lived. The last day you could purchase vouchers was July 31, 2019--a little over two months after the promotion began. Any vouchers you bought would also only be valid for one year from the date of purchase, which means if you snapped some up last July and have been hanging on to them since, as I have, then you only have a few days left to redeem them before they expire.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It appears there could be some changes in the works for Microsoft's Xbox Live Gold program, as the company has discontinued year-long subscription plans. As of now, only monthly and three-month Xbox Live Gold subscriptions are available from Microsoft's website, and this change was not accidental. As confirmed by Microsoft to True Achievements, the company has officially delisted the 12-month Xbox Live Gold plan. These were available for $60, while month-long plans are $10 and three-month plans are $25. Because of this, it will apparently cost about $100 to get a year of Xbox Live Gold now, which is just slightly less than a Game Pass Ultimate subscription that bundles a year of Xbox Live Gold with a year of Xbox Game Pass.Xbox Game Pass has been one of the best values in gaming since its launch back in 2017, and it now receives all first-party Microsoft games on the same day as their official release. It will also include access to Project xCloud starting this fall, but Microsoft hadn't made any indication it would be moving away from the Xbox Live Gold program. By increasing the price of the service, it could be encouraging more people to simply make the jump to Game Pass, instead.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Bloodborne is one of the best games on PlayStation 4 and hopeful PC players have been asking for a port for almost as long as the game has been available. That has never happened, but an impressive "demake" has turned it into a SNES-style action-RPG, and the transformation is gorgeous. The free game even gives you a chance to fight some of its iconic bosses.Available as a free download now, Yarntown takes Bloodborne's iconic Central Yharnam area and turns it into a 16-bit top-down game. It's much more than just the basic visual style of Bloodborne that gets converted, however, as you still have a stamina bar and can make use of the pistol, light and heavy attacks, and a dodge roll. The game also contains the Hunter's Dream hub area, as well as lanterns to travel back to it from the other locations. The basic enemies certainly evoke that feeling of dread and tension in the 2015 original, but it's the boss fights that really show how impressive Yarntown is. Father Gascoigne is still a huge pain, with several melee attacks as well as his blunderbuss shot to knock you away if you get directly in front of him. He isn't as aggressive, however, so you might have more of a shot of defeating him than you did in From Software's version.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
