It's been 20 years since the release of the Dreamcast cult classic Jet Set Radio, and fans are still waiting for Sega to do something with the license besides sit on it like Billy Hatcher with his egg. The studio behind Lethal League is the latest indie outfit to unveil an indie-fied unofficial follow-up to 2002's Jet Set Radio Future, and it looks slicker than most. Titled Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, the trailer features the cel-shading rollerblading that you'd expect, along with a big helping of graffiti.Team Reptile has made no attempts to hide its Jet Set Radio fandom. After all, the artstyle of Lethal League and its sequel Blaze bears a certain resemblance to the bright, busy aesthetics of JSR, as well as featuring a similar electrofunk soundtrack. Blaze featured a track from Hideki Naganuma, the composer behind many of the most beloved songs in both JSR and its follow-up JSRF.'Bomb Rush Cyberfunk' pic.twitter.com/OzHK5bhYQi — Team Reptile (@ReptileGames) July 22, 2020As true JSR heads know, this is far from the first project to attempt to revive the spirit of the GG's. 2015's Hover was one of the first, as well as Neon Tail, which is still in Early Access. (Naganuma even contributed to the Hover soundtrack.) Given the Lethal League pedigree, perhaps Team Reptile will be able to do something new with the inline skating concept other than stoking nostalgia for a beloved (albeit very dead) franchise.Info from Gamespot.com

Two of Ubisoft's delayed games are still on-track for their release dates, despite not appearing in the most recent Ubisoft Forward presentation. During Ubisoft's Q1 financial earnings call, the company stated that both Gods & Monsters and Rainbow Six Quarantine have not been further delayed, but could be if necessary. The answer came during the Q&A session of the earnings call. Ubisoft confirmed that both are still coming this fiscal year, which means they'll release by March 2021. CEO Yves Guillemot did say the two are "doing well" and the teams are happy for the extra development time. He also suggested they may be released in Q4, which would include the period from January-March 2021.Guillemot also suggested that either of the games could slip to fiscal year 2022--which begins April 1, 2021--if it would help improve their long-term impact. In response to a later question, he said that they're both in the polish phase now. He also remarked that we'll hear more in the coming months, possibly alluding to another Ubisoft Forward that's due in September.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ubisoft has responded to the possible price hike in games from $60 to $70 during its latest earnings call, saying that the company "plans to come with the same price as the previous generation of consoles.""For the Christmas games, we plan to come with the same price as the previous generation of consoles," Ubisoft said. "That's what we're focused on at the moment."Ubisoft has some heavy-hitters coming this holiday season, with Watch Dogs: Legion arriving on October 29 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla launching on November 17. Logitech has revealed its collaboration with Herman Miller, the makers of luxury and ergonomically engineered office chairs. The result is a gaming chair that looks nothing like you would expect it to, and costs far more than you might want to spend. The Herman Miller X Logitech G Embody Gaming Chair is (aside from being a mouthful) almost unchanged from the original design Herman Miller has been selling for a while now. It features a range of comfort adjustments, including a back support segmented into 150 individual pieces that can be adjusted to perfectly match the curvature of your spine. There's also a finely tuned recline support as well as a seat adjustment that lets you get the perfect angle between your knees or thighs and your lower leg.Gaming-specific features are almost non-existent, aside from the all black finish and a very Logitech-looking blue hue to the back support that you can see on the rear of the chair. The one notable addition is the inclusion of a copper-infused material on the back cushioning, which is meant to help distribute heat and keep you cool while using the chair for hours on end. This is, for all intents and purposes, the same chair Herman Miller has been selling to offices for years, just marketed to Logitech's gaming audience.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Recent allegations of a toxic workplace environment at Ubisoft have dominated headlines, so the company's corporate earnings call was sure to have the stories looming over the proceedings. And while CEO Yves Guillemot and other executives addressed the allegations, those answers left a lot to be desired. Before the call began, Ubisoft said in its earnings statement that it would be proactively tying management bonuses to creating "a positive and inclusive workplace environment." When executives were asked direct questions during the Q&A period, though, the answers were less satisfying. The longest answer came from CEO Yves Guillemot, in response to a pointed question about his own responsibility and awareness of the problem. The questioner suggested he didn't know, he did know and did nothing, or he had been alerted but didn't act fast enough--none of them positive possibilities."Each time we have been made aware of misconduct, we made actually tough decisions and made sure that those decisions had a clear and positive impact, so that's very important," Guillemot said. "It has now become clear that certain individuals betrayed the trust I placed in them and didn't live up to Ubisoft's shared values. So I have never compromised on my core values and ethics, and never will. I will continue to run and transform Ubisoft to face today's and tomorrow's challenges."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Just a few months ago, a Bloomberg report claimed that Oculus was developing a Quest 2 as a follow-up to the year-old standalone VR headset Quest 1, and it looks like it might have leaked. Twitter user Walkingcat, who posted an image of the HP Reverb G2 a week before its official reveal, tweeted out a picture that appears to be a new Oculus headset.pic.twitter.com/rBvJpCfRmT — WalkingCat (@h0x0d) July 22, 2020While we don't know for sure if this is the Quest 2, given WalkingCat's track record, it certainly seems possible that it's legit. The original Quest 1 was GameSpot's overall pick for the best VR headset. Based on the Bloomberg report, the Quest 2 will be 10-15% smaller and lighter than the Quest 1. The most obvious difference between this apparent Quest 2 and its predecessor is the switch from the all-black of the Quest 1 to the white-and-black approach shown here. The strap also appears to be a new design, which would require only two adjustments for the sides and back, rather than the three straps of the Quest 1.This new headset would appear to lack the IPD (interpupillary distance) slider of the Quest 1, which allows VR users to adjust the headset based on the distance between their eyes, which varies widely in the general population. It's unclear if the Quest 2 will introduce a new slider in a different location, or if it will forgo it entirely, as is the case with the now-discontinued Oculus Go. If you're still in the market for a Quest 1, they're in stock on Amazon.Info from Gamespot.com

We're still waiting for the day when we can pre-order the Xbox Series X, but in the meantime, Seagate has revealed the first third-party external storage option for the next-gen console. The Series X plans to exclusively use a new type of storage expansion card to ensure fast speeds for Series X games, as opposed to the external hard drives we used to store our games this past generation. Since only one company has revealed a storage option for the Series X, it's unclear if we'll see more or if Microsoft has partnered with Seagate to be the sole manufacturer of the console's storage cards. Unfortunately, no price was revealed, but you can sign up at Seagate's website to stay up-to-date.Seagate's Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X is a custom PCIe Gen4x2 NVMe SSD, which means it's pretty dang fast--NVMe SSDs are the fastest storage option you can currently get for PCs. The next generation of games has emphasized these speeds in both quick load times and stutter-free, open-world streaming. Unfortunately, we don't have the exact clock speeds of these storage cards.Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series XSeagate Storage Expansion Card (right) See at Seagate Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Darrah said in a blog post in 2018 that the new game had been in the works for "quite a while."
