Shortly after Halo Infinite was demonstrated on July 23 at the Xbox Series X games event, a rumor began circulating that the multiplayer portion wouldn't be ready for launch this holiday. However, it was just that: a rumor. A 343 employee has cleared things up, and you won't be limited to the campaign when the game releases.Replying to a thread on Twitter, 343 community manager Brian Jarrard assured players that the multiplayer would indeed ship with the single-player campaign that was showcased during the Xbox event.Nothing to see here folks, this is not true. — Brian Jarrard (@ske7ch) July 24, 2020We only saw the campaign when the game was demonstrated during the Xbox Series X event, but Microsoft promised that multiplayer footage would be coming further down the line. We do know that Infinite will offer four-player split-screen support and that the grappling hook will function as a pickup in multiplayer.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Stunt work can be exhausting and dangerous. And when actors step into the role of a stunt person, things can get a little sticky, literally. During a panel at Comic-Con@Home, actor Charlize Theron recounted a moment when her The Italian Job co-star, Mark Walhberg, threw up on set.Discussing her work in films, Theron explained that the stunt work in The Italian Job led to some dizzying moments, as she explained to moderator Terri Schwartz of IGN. "I vividly remember Mark Walhberg, halfway through one of our training sessions, pulling over and throwing up because he was so nauseous from doing 360s," she said during the panel.Outside of the car sick moment, Theron was a monster--no pun intended--when it came to honing her craft with the stunt driving in that movie. "The Italian Job was a great experience in the sense that I realized there was still so much misconception around women in the [action] genre--even though that film, the action is really based on cars," she said. "We had to physically do a lot of that stuff. The only good thing that came out of that experience was that there was a real pressure to pull off those stunts with the actors. And that was the first time I experienced anything like that. But there was a very unfair process that went with that. I was the only woman, with a bunch of guys, and I remember, vividly, getting the schedule in our pre-production, and they had scheduled me for six weeks more car training than any of the guys. It was just so insulting. But it was also the thing that put a real fire under my ass. I was like, 'Alright, you guys want to play this game? Let's go!' And I made it a point to out-drive all of those guys.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Respawn Entertainment has responded to an anonymous Glassdoor review that claimed the developer was overworking employees and enforcing strict deadlines during the work-from-home period. An image of the review was shared on the Apex Legends subreddit, where a number of employees responded to the post, most notably game director Chad Grenier.Source: GlassdoorThe review said that Respawn, unlike others in the industry, was not extending its timeline for Apex Legends updates nor was it being flexible with deadlines while teams work from home. The anonymous employee said they were working 12 to 13 hours a day and that the team did not plan properly around doing a live-service game.Grenier (u/HkySk8r187) wrote a lengthy response in the comments of the post, addressing the issues. "I'll chime in on this because a lot of this falls on me as the leader of the Apex team, but I truly believe Respawn has its [employees] best interest and health in mind, and always has," Grenier wrote.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Viz Media has announced it's localizing the 2019 book collecting interviews with Satoru Iwata, the late Nintendo CEO. Ask Iwata: Words of Wisdom from Nintendo's Legendary CEO releases Spring 2021 in physical and digital editions in North America. The book, in part, compiles various transcripts from a decade of interviews in the "Iwata Asks" series, a project he worked on from 2006 until his death in 2015. Iwata Asks typically featured Iwata and Nintendo developers discussing popular first-party series releases, hardware, and more. The series went in-depth on the Wii, Nintendo DS, 3DS, and Wii U, from both a hardware philosophy as well as the platforms' software libraries. There will also be contributions from Iwata's collaborators such as Shigeru Miyamoto. The book was originally edited and published by Japanese company Hobonichi, which was founded by Shigesato Itoi, the director of the beloved SNES game Earthbound. The end is near for Vikings. The cast made its final Comic-Con appearance through its virtual Comic-Con@Home panel Friday, setting the stage for the final batch of episodes that will bring about the series finale. The first half of Season 6 aired earlier this year, while the second half is completed and will be seen eventually. To tease what was to come, though, a shocking clip was shown. In the clip, Ivar (Alex Hogh) and his army are preparing for war. What he doesn't expect, though, is that his brother Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) would be the opposition. You may remember in the finale of the first half of Season 6, Ivar seemingly killed Bjorn. However, as showrunner Michael Hirst revealed to GameSpot at the time, "He's not dead yet. Honestly, Episode 11 will just knock your socks off. It's so powerful. And it's just brilliant for Alexander and in a way that's what I wanted."While the clip makes it obvious that Bjorn is not long for this world, he's clearly not going down without a fight.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Based on the trailer, he's not dead yet but doesn't seem far from it--especially now that it seems he's being hunted."There is something going on with Morgan," co-showrunner Andrew Goldberg teases of Morgan being seen with red eyes at the end of the trailer. While this year's SDCC all took place virtually, repackaged as Comic-Con@Home, one of the great things about the event was that anyone can "get into" a panel. No more waiting in line, overnight, to make sure you got a seat in the notorious Hall H. Every panel can be watched on YouTube, over and over and over again.Because of this, we now know which panels the masses are most interested in, as all of YouTube's videos display the view count. So what do people care about the most? As of Thursday, July 23, it was obvious that people wanted news about the long-delayed New Mutants movie--which, don't worry, is still aiming for August theatrical release.Below, you'll find the list of the most-viewed Comic-Con panels from this year. These panels and numbers will be updated throughout the weekend, so we won't know what the most popular panel of Comic-Con 2020 is until the end of Sunday, July 26.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's fair to say that Google Stadia hasn't lit the world on fire. Despite a promising technical test and the deep coffers of one of America's largest companies, the tech has been underwhelming and the library is anemic. This would be a problem for any new emerging technology, but a weak launch can be course-corrected given enough time. For Google, that time is running short now that Microsoft has announced its own, much more robust streaming plans and is leveraging the Xbox brand to do it.Due to some combination of curiosity and poor impulse control, I bought both an OnLive and a Stadia Founder's Edition at launch. Streaming has always been a fascinating concept, and I've wanted to see it firsthand, for better and for worse.Stadia has failed to impress. Pro customers get discounts and a couple of free games, but other promised features like 4K output have been inconsistent. (Google pointedly blamed developers for this.) When Stadia does announce a new slate of games coming to the service, it's often ones that have already been out on other platforms for months. It has precious few exclusives. The promise of Stadia is to play anywhere, but I don't travel all that often even in the best of times, much less in the midst of a global pandemic. To top it all off, the games on Stadia are full-priced, often going for the standard price on other platforms, sometimes long after other platforms have offered significant discounts for older games that are marked as "New Releases" on Stadia.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Imagine being able to take back every mistake you make, instantly, reliving each moment over and over until it plays out as you hoped. In less astute hands, it could feel like an exercise in trial and error. In Desperados 3, however, it unfolds in masterful fashion, providing ample scope for you to dream up a multitude of creative plans alongside the ability to reset the board in a flash should the plan fail. It's a rapidfire process of forming an hypothesis, testing it and tossing it aside. By encouraging experimentation at every turn, Desperados 3 proves a stealth tactics game where invention thrives.Stealth games can often degenerate into a loop of quick-saving and quick-loading. Desperados 3 is built around that loop, an aspect reinforced by a tutorial which instructs you on how to quick-save and quick-load before it tells you how to deal with an enemy. It's hammered home by regular pop-up notifications informing you of the time since you last quick-saved. You can customise this reminder--tweaking the delay or disabling it entirely--but the fact the default setting is to nudge you every 60 seconds ought to stress the importance of quick-saving.Archetypal gunslinger John Cooper and his friends are rather fragile, even on the normal difficulty setting, while the cadres of thugs, gunwomen and assorted rifle-toting outlaws they find themselves up against are very much of the "shoot first, ask questions later" mindset. So when a plan heads south--as even the most meticulously observed ones are wont to do, usually when one of the gang gets spotted or occasionally a carelessly discarded body is found--it's very much a case of the quick-load and the dead.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

I'm a bit of an Xbox guy and indie game guy so when Microsoft announces that it's releasing over 70 brand-new game demos on Xbox One via its ID@Xbox program, I already know that I'm going to try playing as many as I can. I haven't checked out all 73 yet--I'm only about halfway through the list--but one in particular stood out to me: The Vale: Shadow of the Crown from developer Falling Squirrel. While the demo was downloading, I quickly skimmed through the description of the game. In The Vale, you play as Alex, a woman who's the second born in a royal family--essentially the backup if something terrible happens to the first kid. But because she's blind, Alex hasn't had the same type of upbringing as her older brother. In fact, her father seemingly doesn't want anything to do with her. So when she's old enough, Alex's uncle (a fellow second born) takes her away to be the warden of a small castle on the outskirts of the kingdom. 500 miles into the journey, Alex and her uncle are attacked and she's separated from him. Alex decides her best course of action is to make her way home but as she sets out, she runs into a shepherd that informs her that an invading army is occupying the land between where she is and her brother's castle. My initial thoughts were that it sounded like a very typical setup for a fantasy-based RPG, save for the main character being blind. But this isn't the first video game to feature a blind protagonist--typically they rely on some form of magic or echolocation or technology in order to see the world in a different way so that even if the character is blind, the player can still see. That is not what The Vale is.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When The Walking Dead delayed its Season 10 finale due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there was no word on when fans would actually see the episode. After its Comic-Con@Home panel, though, we now know when it will air--and that it's not exactly the finale anymore.During the panel for The Walking Dead, it was revealed that the Season 10 finale, "A Certain Doom," would finally broadcast on AMC on Sunday, October 4--one week before the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead. However, showrunner Angela Kang also revealed that it's technically not the final episode of Season 10, as AMC has ordered additional episodes. Six more Season 10 episodes will premiere in early 2021, though no specific dates were announced. To celebrate the extended season, the opening three-and-a-half minutes of the Season 10 finale were revealed in the panel, showing the various settlements gearing up for war against the Whisperers and their army of walkers. What's more exciting about the clip, though, is the return of Maggie (Lauren Cohan), who is shown finding a letter catching her up on what's been happening since she left in Season 9. Since then, Maggie has only been seen once, in a hallucination by Michonne. However, based on this clip, it looks like she's headed back to join the fight. And according to Cohan herself, during the panel, "It's more than a visit. She's coming back."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
