Control is getting its second expansion, AWE, on August 27, and it'll draw a direct connection between the game and Remedy's Xbox 360 hit Alan Wake. To celebrate, Remedy hosted a stream to show off the expansion's opening, and during it they shared some information about a major patch coming to the base game alongside AWE.The expansion gameplay starts at about the 18 minute mark of the video below, which is taken from the PS4 version. The game's developers give some commentary over the footage, and the first Alan Wake reference comes basically right away.During the demo, the free update is discussed, and it's going to make the game a bit easier to move through. Your Launch ability will now be able to pick up three objects, for instance, which gives Jesse a bit more power. There will be more Control Points added near bosses and other big fights to cut back on walking, as well as more "soft checkpoints"--meaning that if you die, you won't need to face certain combat encounters again. The dual-screen device is foldable--a gimmick that you may remember from the Galaxy Fold. It's coming in at a premium price too, starting at $1399.Due to the two-screen approach, you can have two apps running at once side-by-side. In a sample video, you can see the phone looking up a nature trail through a browser on one side and then opening Google Maps for directions there on the other. You can also make custom groups, drag from one screen to the other, or view some apps across both screens. When it comes to the early days of the FPS genre, there's really no substitute for the original trilogy of Quake games. Though each game is radically different from one another--the steampunk fantasy of Quake 1, the sci-fi Strogg slaying of Quake 2, and the pioneering multiplayer of Quake 3--each of them have held up quite well over the years. Magic: Legends is a Diablo-like action RPG based on the popular card game, and so all of its classes are based on one of the traditional Mana colors. Developer Cryptic Studios has now revealed the fifth and final Mana color's associated class: the Black Mana wielding Necromancer.According to a blog post, the Necromancer is a devotee of death and decay, letting them manipulate minions from the dead and make sacrifices to charge their attacks. The class is largely based around the power set of Liliana Vess from the Magic card game, one of the more popular Planeswalker characters. The power set revolves around reanimating corpses, debuffing enemies with curses, and sacrificing your allied creatures.Necromancer's primary ability is called Grim Siphon, a mid-range attack that also poisons the enemy and heals the player. The secondary ability, Grave Upheaval, damages enemies and summons skeletons to their side, while the utility ability Soul Wither poisons and slows enemies immediately around the player in a black cloud and healing the player.
