Inception director Christopher Nolan's next movie, Tenet, is coming to theatres--yes, theatres--in the US on September 3. Reviews for the film have been generally positive, and even Tom Cruise counts himself as a fan. To help promote the film further, Warner Bros. has released a neat behind-the-scenes video featuring Nolan, the cast, and the producers who talk about what a mammoth undertaking it was to make the big-budget blockbuster. In the video, Nolan explains the origins of the project. "Tenet is an espionage story; it's a classic spy story. I grew up loving spy movies," he said. "But to make it [appeal to] today's audiences ... I wanted it to have bigger possibilities."He's talking about Tenet's take on time-travel, known as "inversion." The idea here, which some scientists support, is that the entropy of an object or a person can be reversed. In essence, the people and objects in Tenet are moving backward while others are moving forward in time.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Control's second and final DLC expansion, AWE, is out now. The DLC is also accompanied by a free update for the base game, which improves some accessibility issues and makes some areas less frustrating.Info from Gamespot.com

Frogwares, the developer behind the horror game The Sinking City, has revealed why the game was removed from several platforms recently. In an open letter, the developer has accused publishers Bigben Interactive and Nacon of withholding royalties, several contract breaches, and even attempting to imply that the studio was merely a "technical partner" on the game. When development on The Sinking City began in 2017, Bigben and Nacon signed a licensing agreement that would give the companies the right to sell and commercialize the game on Xbox One, PS4, and PC through the Epic Games Store and Steam. In exchange, Frogwares would receive financial contributions towards development and still own the intellectual property. Frogwares would receive payments whenever production milestones were completed, as well as a share of the revenue once The Sinking City was released. Not long after the deal had been signed, Frogwares claims to have encountered its first problem. Money owed for completed production milestones usually came in later than the agreed date, with payments being halted entirely for 4 months after the publishers allegedly demanded that the source code for The Sinking City be handed over to them.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

War is raging on the planet Enoch in Outriders, and you're the secret weapon for the good guys. As a titular Outrider, you not only have expert training in weapons, tactics, and survival, you also have superpowers thanks to the unpredictable effects of a storm called "the Anomaly." Your powers might give you control of fire, or the ability to teleport behind enemies to stab them in the back, or the capacity to create devastating seismic waves. With Outriders' final character class, the Technomancer, you can create gun turrets out of thin air to seriously mess up your enemies' ability to fight back.If you're not familiar with Outriders, it's pretty much one part Gears of War, one part Destiny 2, and one part Mass Effect 3. Combat has you balance taking cover to avoid incoming gunfire and pressing the attack with your superhuman abilities, ripping apart enemies and healing yourself through victory. The game is structured like an action-RPG, with hub towns full of characters to talk to for story beats and side-missions, and twisting maps full of enemies to fight and stuff to discover. As you play through the game, you level up your character to unlock skills and perks in expansive skill trees, all while chasing better, rarer loot to make yourself more powerful. We previously got a sense of how Outriders works, and recently spent a few more hours playing with the game as the Technomancer, whose powers are somewhat more support-focused in comparison to the other classes in the game. It mostly relies on creating gun turrets that employ different effects--one can freeze enemies and leave them vulnerable, while another sprays toxic sludge that damages and slows them, and a third launches rockets that can rip past cover. The Technomancer is at its best when paired with teammates, excelling at controlling crowds before they become overwhelming, or hanging back and picking away at distant enemies while other classes get in close for the dirtier work.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle's Gold edition, which comes with the Donkey Kong Adventure expansion and other season pass content, is down to $20. Though this zany XCOM-esque tactics game is regularly on sale, this is the best price we've seen for the base game and DLC together.Rayman Legends - Definitive edition is on sale for $10, a superb price for one of the best platformers on Switch that doesn't star your favorite plumber. In April, veteran video game voice actor Rick May passed away after contracting COVID-19. While May amassed quite a few credits over his career, he might be best-known as the growling voice of Team Fortress 2's Soldier class, forever baying for blood on maps like 2Fort and Dustbowl. Though Valve added an in-depth tribute to the actor for the month of May--complete with talking bronze statues--it's now built out a more permanent memorial in a quiet corner of one of the game's most iconic maps.As spotted by Rock Paper Shotgun, one of the gutted silos in the Granary map now holds one of the statues of the Soldier as a permanent tribute. Though it's difficult to see from the map itself, there's also a line of decapitated heads standing on a fence in front of the statue. As TF2 fans well-know, this is a reference to the iconic Meet the Soldier video, where Rick May says that Sun Tzu invented the concept of war, among other questionable claims.Online games often build memorials to community members who pass away unexpectedly. For example, Star Trek Online built a tribute to Leonard Nimoy when the beloved Spock actor died in 2015, and Overwatch honored a fan who tragically died one day before the game's release when he chased down a thief who stole a classmate's motorcycle.Info from Gamespot.com

If you're looking for a laptop that can handle your workday, entertainment, and gaming, then Newegg has a great deal on a laptop this week. The Asus ZenBook 15 ultra-slim laptop is $1,320--down from $1,500--with promo code 93XPR67. Boasting a 4K 15.6-inch display, the ZenBook 15 is great for design work and entertainment. It won't be able to max out your gaming to 4K resolutions, but it'll still work well with DLSS and lower resolutions. This deal is valid until August 31 and comes with free shipping. The laptop will arrive next week or as early as tomorrow if you increase your shipping speed. In addition to the ultra-slim profile, the ZenBook sports a touchscreen trackpad that you can use to launch apps and multitask. The Asus ZenBook 15 also features some pretty mighty specs that make it capable of performing heavy production tasks, such as video and photo editing. It boasts an i7-10510U processor, a GTX 1650 graphics card, and 16GB of RAM as well as a 1TB PCIe SSD. Asus ZenBook 15.6-inch 4K laptop $1,320 (was $1,500) with promo code 93XPR67 See at Newegg Of course, these specs aren't strong enough to take full advantage of that 4K display while gaming. Thankfully, it's more than capable of performing well at lower resolutions or when a game supports DLSS, which makes lower resolutions look like higher resolutions--it's a pretty impressive technology, though it's worth noting that it won't look as good as a true 4K image should. DLSS is used to improve your game's performance, so you still have a nice-looking image while also keeping that higher frame rate.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
