During Gamescom Opening Night Live, we got a lengthy look at Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. The Oculus Rift game takes place entirely in first-person and without cutscenes, so you'll be right in the thick of the action. You can watch the presentation below.According to game director Peter Hirchsman, you play as soldier in the OSS, the organization that eventually became the CIA. Though you're working with the French resistance and taking on some spycraft, the trailer also showed plenty of big bombastic action scenes too--from almost being run over by a tank in the French countryside to storming the beaches of Normandy. Hirchsman said it has roughly 120 pages of narrative. The developer chat ended with a hint of multiplayer, though specific plans weren't shown. Meanwhile, the trailer ended with a display of Oculus Quest, though the studio has previously said that it's a Rift-exclusive. That appears to have been an allusion to the ability to play on Quest through an Oculus Link.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Raya and the Last Dragon, an upcoming computer-animated Disney movie slated for 2021, is shaking up some of its previously announced casting choices. Replacing Cassie Steele (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Rick and Morty), according to Deadline, will be Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) in the titular role. Tran's casting is historic: It marks the first time a Southeast Asian performer has led a Disney animated film.Joining Tran are Don Hall (Moana, Big Hero 6) and Carlos López Estrada (Blindspotting) as directors on Raya and the Last Dragon--playwright Qui Nguyen (Vietgone) will join Adele Lim as co-writer. Paul Briggs and John Ripa will co-direct; Dean Wellins, who was originally slated as director alongside Briggs, will reportedly be directing another Disney animated movie."As filmmakers, Don and Carlos bring a combination of animation know-how and emotional storytelling to Raya and the Last Dragon, bringing our fantasy adventure to surprising, original, and dynamic heights," said Walt Disney Animation Studios' Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Lee. "They both saw the potential for this film and had a strong vision for the story, especially for our lead character, played by the wonderfully talented Kelly Marie Tran. And no small feat, directors Don and Carlos, writers Qui and Adele, and the entire crew of 400 Disney Animation artists are making this film together, while separated and working from home."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While Destiny 2's Beyond Light expansion is going to shake up the game world--a bunch of removing some planetary destinations are being removed as new ones cycle in--arguably the biggest change is the new Stasis ability, which is going to make big alterations to the way you actually play the game. We got another big look at the Stasis powers and their related Supers during Gamescom's Opening Night Live show, which give a sense of how you'll freeze and shatter enemies. The new trailer shown at Gamescom gave us a little more detail about the three new subclasses Stasis will bring to the game, and a look at some of the stuff you can do with them. Bungie added slightly more detail to its website as well. The powers you'll wield include Stasis Field, Freeze, and Shatter, and it seems like each subclass will have some or all of those abilities. For Warlocks, there's the Shadebinder, which we saw firing bolts of ice at enemies to deal damage, in line with the Shatter power. Hunters get the Revenant class, which seems geared toward Stasis Fields that slow enemies. Finally, there's the Behemoth for Titans, which seems to be all about the Freeze ability, sending ice ripping through the ground to solidify enemies and then using Titans' big melee hits to crush their icy forms. We also got the sense that you'll use Stasis crystals to instantly create defensive structures like walls, which can help you close the gap on enemies to deal punishing blows. The Stasis abilities are a big wrinkle in Beyond Light, and not just because they give you new options for killing your various foes around the solar system in exceedingly cool ways. Stasis is the power of the Darkness, the nebulous big bad enemies that Destiny Guardians have been worrying about since the original game's first day. In the current season of Destiny 2, the Darkness has finally arrived, but it's not attacking--it's handing out gifts. Stasis seems to be one of those gifts, and its appearance should have a big impact on the story.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Frank Herbert's Dune is arguably one of the most famous sci-fi novels of all time. The sprawling epic about spice and sandworms (among other things) has been adapted to live action not once, but twice--the first by director David Lynch (yes, that David Lynch) back in 1984 and the second as a mini-series on the SyFy channel back in 2000. There was even a failed attempt by surrealist auteur director Alejandro Jodorowsky (Tusk) which never saw the light of day--but was turned into a much-loved documentary back in 2013.Neither were particularly well received by fans--though the memes, particularly of Lynch's version--which included musician Sting in a sci-fi thong--still hold up.Now, director Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Arrival) is hoping that the third time will be the charm. He is directing his own adaptation consisting of two movies to cover the first Herbert novel, starring Timothee Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Josh Brolin. The production has been kept closely under wraps thus far, with only a small handful of stills and images from set making their way onto social media--but that's all about to change. The first trailer for Villeneuve's Dune is set to land online on September 9.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Those of you excited about seeing Christopher Meloni finally return to the Law & Order franchise aren't going to like this. Law & Order: Organized Crime, the limited series that will see Meloni reprise his role as Elliot Stabler, has been delayed. The news comes from GameSpot sister site TV Guide, which reports the project has been pushed back to sometime in 2021, instead of the planned 2020 release. It's possible this has something to do with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, given that most TV shows have yet to begin production again. Those that have are working with many new procedures and rules, as was revealed by the cast of The Goldbergs.Organized Crimes centers around Stabler's return to the NYPD, as he heads up the city's organized crime division. However, according to a series description, "the city and police department have changed dramatically in the decade he's been away, and he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning. Throughout the series, we will follow Stabler's journey to find absolution and rebuild his life, while leading a new elite task force that is taking apart the city's most powerful criminal syndicates one by one."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
