Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2's development team had the steep challenge of remaking a classic game more than twenty years since it launched. The original's arcade action is just as fun as it was back then thanks to updated gameplay features and visuals."Playing through the newly remade levels is immensely enjoyable, and that on its own is enough to call Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 a success," said Mat Paget in GameSpot's Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 review. "However, smart additions and an engaging challenge system make it an experience that's more than just a brief skate through Tony Hawk's past."Critics from around the web have applauded Vicarious Visions and Neversoft for nailing the feeling of the original games. Modernizations, like graphics that let you actually recognize which skater you're playing as, make the two games feel like they fit right alongside new skating games like SkateBIRD, Skater XL, and Session.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Developer Respawn Entertainment has implemented a new update for Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One that adjusts in-game armor. The full patch notes are outlined below. At the start of Season 6: Boosted, Respawn tweaked how armor works in Apex Legends by making them all Evo Armor and reducing their values by 25 points. Now, the studio is reverting all armor values back to pre-Season 6, meaning the 25-point reduction has been reversed. However, the studio clarified that all armor will remain Evo. This change is now in effect on all platforms.Design director Jason McCord detailed why Respawn made the change and the rationale for reverting it back, saying the entire point of the Season 6 change was to ensure that players getting the drop on someone gave them an advantage in battle. To that end, the Evo Armor and value adjustment was put in place to "promote strategy in battlefield positioning and map control" when confronting a team.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

At a certain point, Sony's Spider-Man-free universe is going to eclipse the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which actually has the web-slinger in it. Another project is in the works at Sony, making use of a character from the Spider-Man franchise. This isn't a new movie, though. Instead, it aims to be a live-action TV show.According to a report from Variety, Sony and Marvel are developing a series about Silk, otherwise known as Peter Parker's Korean-American classmate Cindy Moon. Shockingly, she also gets bitten by a radioactive spider, which gives her special powers. In the comics, she was trapped for years in a secret bunker to protect her from a guy who hunts down spider-people, which is a long story in itself. She then becomes a superhero in her own right under the name Silk. The character was first introduced in 2014, in the comic book The Amazing Spider-Man #1. It's also worth noting that it was reported in 2018 that a Silk movie was being developed.Should the TV show become a reality, this will not be the first time Moon has appeared in a live-action project. Tiffany Espensen played a version of the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which she was on Peter's academic decathlon team. At this point, there's no indication as to whether Espensen would reprise the role, which would link the project to the MCU.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

My wife and I are big Disney fans, so there's a great friendship there, and he's always looked for the right match where there was a way that Metallica could contribute to some project of theirs," Ulrich said. It's wild to think that long before there was a new Call of Duty game every year, Activision's big annual franchise was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. It's a series in which you only have to worry about tying off each ludicrously long combo before you bail and lose hundreds of thousands of points. With the sounds of bands like Goldfinger and Rage Against the Machine burned into your head, you scour each dense park in search of S-K-A-T-E and that elusive secret tape. And as soon as you finally find them, it's time to restart the two-minute timer and jump back in for one last go--which you already told yourself was three sessions prior. The stimulating trick system keeps you clawing for larger numbers, while the cleverly crafted levels lead you to new gaps, lines, and secrets to add to your combo's path. It's a special series that is infinitely playable, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 captures that nearly perfectly.Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 revamps the levels and skaters of the first two games, though it borrows many aspects from later titles as well. While the trick system's foundation stuck through the entire series' history, various trick types were added with each new release. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 features many of the best ones, including reverts and spine transfers, and thankfully, it doesn't stray further than Underground's wallplants and grind/manual transitions. This makes 1 + 2's trick system feel complete, neglecting the less crucial mechanics--like Freak Out from Underground 2--and focusing on the best aspects of the series' tricks. One very nice touch, however, lets you switch between the revamped trick system and the first and second game's trick systems, offering a more authentic experience akin to the originals. No matter which trick system you go with, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 plays fantastically. While you still control it the exact same way you would the originals, it feels a lot less stiff. Tricks are as exciting to pull off as they've ever been, but the speed of the game moves faster and the skaters' animations are a lot more fluid. Transitioning from grab tricks and spins into a string of manuals and then finishing with a set of grind transitions feels incredible--it evokes the series' early days of nailing unrealistic and goofy combos, while also remaining engaging and exciting when you're checking off goals in 2020.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
