With Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, Nintendo is leaning into its weird side once again, much like we've seen with other Nintendo Switch experiences like Labo and Ring Fit Adventure. It essentially brings Mario Kart to life in your living room. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, you'll probably want to keep a close eye on retailers' preorder listings ahead of its October 16 release. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is currently only available to preorder at Walmart.Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit comes in two distinct sets, one with a Mario RC kart and another with Luigi. Each set also comes with four checkpoint gates, two arrow signboards, and a USB-C charging cord to power the kart. The game will be free to download from the eShop.The kart has a mounted camera that keeps track of progress as you maneuver it around the room with the Nintendo Switch (or Nintendo Switch Lite). You can get creative with the layout of your track, provided you have the room to move the checkpoint gates around freely. The kart's movements will appear on the Switch's screen alongside added elements such as boost pads, items, and defined track limits. The kart will react to obstacles and power-ups in the game. After a rocky launch, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint has steadily added more content over the last several months, and on September 15 the game will receive Title Update 3.0. The third episode, which goes under the name of Red Patriot, tasks players with hunting down Sentinel Corp leader Trey Stone and a Russian separatist group who are planning to launch a neurotoxic attack on the US.Red Patriot will also include a new class called Pathfinder. Several games on both Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will offer free upgrades from their current-gen counterparts, and now we know what it will look like when a PlayStation game is eligible. A look at the box art for Immortals: Fenyx Rising shows a small, unobtrusive sticker along the bottom.As noted by Wario64 on Twitter, the box art shows a small tag along the bottom, just next to the PEGI rating, saying "PS5 Upgrade Available." Ubisoft just showed Immortals--the rebranded project once known as Gods & Monsters--at the most recent Ubisoft Forward event. In the process, it announced free upgrades from current-gen to next-gen systems.The relatively small sticker appears to be a departure from Microsoft's much larger "Optimized for Xbox Series X" sticker, which will also appear on some cross-gen games. While the PlayStation sticker is a narrow strip across the bottom, the Xbox sticker takes up more room than the PEGI rating itself. In August, BTS and developer Netmarble announced a new free-to-play mobile game called BTS Universe Story. Fans of the superstar boy band will now be able to officially play it on September 24.Billed as an "interactive social game" that features stories with BTS members as characters, BTS Universe Story offers two main modes: Story Playthrough and Story Creation. In the Story Playthrough option, players select stories from an existing set of storylines, and in the Story Creation route, players can use in-game production tools to create a custom story. A third mode, Collection, allows players to style characters and take AR photos with their customized characters. Disney's gambit of producing live-action adaptations of its animated back catalog has, on paper, sounded like a savvy strategy. Star Wars Squadrons puts you behind the yoke of Rebel and Imperial starfighters, complete with joystick and throttle support. The Prince of Persia: The Sand of Time Remake was confirmed during the Ubisoft Forward presentation on September 10. Though fans were excited for the return of the classic action-adventure platformer, some haven't been quite as impressed with the game's character models and expressed their dissatisfaction online. While a release date and price for the PlayStation 5 remains unknown, despite Microsoft revealing the same information for the Xbox Series S and Series X just this week, the box contents for Sony's next-gen console has apparently been revealed.According to Niko Partners' senior analyst Daniel Ahmad, the boxes for both the Digital and Standard editions of the PlayStation 5 feature the same things. Alongside the console and wireless DualSense controller, you get the attachable base, an AC power cord, HDMI cable, and more. Both systems come with a pre-installed copy of SIE Japan Studio Asobi Team's 3D platformer Astro's Playroom.Ahmad points out that this list of items featured in the boxes of the PlayStation 5 comes from a Hong Kong distributor, likely meaning that it's region-specific. Still, it's likely that any PlayStation 5 box in any region will, at least, have the controller, HDMI cable, AC power cord, and other necessary components.
