You're stuck in a village, there are vicious-looking werewolf people, and Chris Redfield is seemingly a very bad dude: welcome to Resident Evil 8, known as Resident Evil Village. We got another look at the game during Sony's latest PS5 showcase, and although the trailer didn't reveal much in the way of new story details, it did give off some serious Resident Evil 4 vibes. You can check out the trailer from the showcase below, which seems to pick up where our last look at Resident Evil 8 left off--immediately after Chris Redfield seemingly kills off a key character from Resident Evil 7. Although we know this story seems to start with and revolve around this character's death, the latest trailer gives the serious sense that they've still got a big role to play. Ethan, the protagonist of the last game, is also back to survive more monster-filled mysteries. At the center of this new trailer is a voice-over from Ethan's wife Mia as she tells a folklore-like story about a mother and daughter who head into the woods to gather berries for the girl's father. During their hunt, the girl gets ahead of the mother and disappears into the woods. We don't hear more than that, but it certainly sounds like nothing good happens after the girl vanishes into the forest. Given that the tale is cut with images of hairy, monster-like humans and occult-looking symbols, chances are pretty good you're going to be dealing with whatever she met out there.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

At Sony's PlayStation 5 Showcase, the company showed our first glimpse at a sequel to 2018's God of War. We got almost nothing in the way of details and didn't see the game in action at all, but we got one key tidbit: "Ragnarok is coming." We also know the game is coming sometime in 2021. An official title wasn't confirmed either, though fans have taken to calling it God of War 2: Ragnarok for the time being. A PlayStation Blog post merely refers to it as "New God of War title." God of War director Cory Barlog hinted at a possible announcement earlier in the day by changing his Twitter avatar, but it wasn't clear at the time if he was dropping clues or just teasing fans. The previous God of War game left the door open to a sequel, with an original story that took series protagonist Kratos out of the Greek pantheon and into Norse mythology. In the video, we see an icy God of War omega logo adorned with Norse runes, while Kratos intones over the image, "The time draws near. You must prepare yourself."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales got its first gameplay reveal during the recent PS5 event, and if you're sold on what you saw, then you can preorder the game now. It's coming to PS5 and PS4 on November 12, alongside the PS5 itself. And if you missed out on the first game, or just want a remastered version of it on your brand-spankin' new next-gen console, then you'll be happy to know that it's included with the Ultimate edition. As the name suggest, the upcoming Spider-Man game follows the wall-crawling exploits of Miles Morales as he takes on the Tinkerer and their army of cyber-looking cronies. The gameplay demo we saw today showed some bad guys crashing Miles' mother's election rally, forcing him to suit up as Spidey and take them on. We also saw gameplay of Miles fighting off the baddies on a bridge and, soon after, saving a number of citizens from the falling debris. The $50 standard edition comes with the base Spider-Man: Miles Morales game.As for its Ultimate edition, it costs $70 and is exclusive to the PS5. This is because it includes a PS5 remaster of the original Marvel's Spider-Man. Developer Insomniac says that players can expect to see "improved skin, eyes, hair, and facial animation" as well as ray-traced reflections, ambient shadows, and improved lighting--more pedestrians and vehicles are also said to be present in the remaster. And if you prefer performance over visuals, Spider-Man: Remastered has the same 60 FPS mode as the Miles Morales game. Insomniac also teased three new Spider-Man suits for the original game as well as new photo mode features and a trophies.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Turns out Sony isn't making as clean a break with this next console generation as previously thought--much like Microsoft, several of Sony's first-party titles are releasing on both PS4 and PS5. During the September 2020 PS5 Showcase, we learned that Horizon Forbidden West will be one such game, along with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales."We know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we're happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives," Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan wrote in a blog post about the price and release date for PS5. "Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4."Ryan went on to clarify that because these three games are specifically designed for the PS5, the PS4 versions will lack support for certain features, like the PS5's SSD's fast loading times and DualSense controller's haptic feedback. They'll be the same games otherwise, though.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The much-anticipated remake of Demon's Souls is now available to preorder. Bluepoint's rendition of From Software's PS3 classic is set to launch alongside the PS5 on November 12, and if you want to play it on release day, you can preorder a copy ahead of time.During the recent PS5 showcase event, Sony gave us our first look at Demon's Souls gameplay. It showed off the very first area you play through, with what appears to be no loading times between warps. It all looks similar to the original game but with much more detailed visuals and in 4K accompanied by 60 frames per second. We see the player take on the area's enemies and then finish off with the Vanguard demon boss--and just like the first game requires, they die. From there we see a montage of different areas and enemies. Some next-gen games will cost $70 instead of this generation's typical $60. This happens to be the case with Demon's Souls as well. The PlayStation Store's listing isn't live yet, so we can't compare the price digitally, but we don't expect the prices to differ.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
