EA Sports has posted an in-depth gameplay video for NHL 21 that covers a number of the key features and improvements coming to this year's professional ice hockey game.Starting with offensive gameplay, EA says the game is inspired by some of the NHL's flashiest players including cover star Alex Ovechkin, Nikita Kucherov, and Connor McDavid. To that end, a number of new skill moves have been added, including "The Michigan," the "no move" deke, the behind-the-net bank, and a between-the-legs one-timer. There are also new slip and chip dekes that players can use to get around defenders. In particular, The Michigan move was performed for NHL 21 by stick-handling specialist Pavel Barber, as you can see in his own post on social media.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There were some huge announcements during the recent Nintendo Direct Mini, including a new Monster Hunter game and a Switch release of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. One that might have flown under the radar was the announcement of Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise, a sequel to the system's first dedicated fitness game.Fitness Boxing 2 will yet again task you with performing boxing moves in time with music. The game will now let you turn off certain boxing moves that you don't want to perform, and features new tracks and instructors. There are 66 courses and 23 songs to choose from. Otherwise, it looks very similar to the first game, but hopefully there will be improvements to motion tracking. Save data carries over, so if Fitness Boxing is part of your fitness routine, you can continue tracking your progress.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In Spelunky 2, the turkey's fate is in your hands. You could hop on the bird's back, making use of its double jump and Yoshi-like glide to flap your way through your run. For a solid payout, you could return it and the other birds scattered throughout a stage to the turkey farmer who oversees their pen. You could whip it unconscious, throw a bomb next to its body, and eat the resulting Thanksgiving platter for one heart--or you could do that last one in the farmer's line of sight, prompting him to take up arms against you, "you monster."This is the mode that Spelunky 2 constantly operates in. There are always risk-reward choices to make, and death is nearly instantaneous if you choose poorly. Like its acclaimed predecessor, Spelunky 2 is the rare platformer that demands to be played as much like a tactics game as it does like a Mario game. As you learn (or relearn) how to survive, success requires a willingness to think three moves ahead. Some tiles are booby-trapped to shoot arrows as you leap through their line of sight. Some vases summon a relentless ghost when smashed. Some pottery hides snakes and tarantulas. Some spiders hang from the cavern ceilings, hoping you pass by unaware. You really shouldn't even move from your initial spawn point without pausing for a moment to pore over every treacherous inch of the screen. That is, unless you spawn near a bat, which will swoop down at you--hope you're quick with your whip.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With reports circulating that the release date for Black Widow could be delayed again, potentially into 2021, this could be the first year without a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since 2009. That doesn't mean the MCU won't play any role in 2020, though.According to Disney+, the upcoming WandaVision series will debut in late 2020. Initially, the series was due to premiere in October. While that may no longer be the case, Disney+ confirms the show is still on track for this year, along with a handful of other originals, movies, and more--including the November debut of the Marvel 616 documentary series.Of course, there's also the second season of The Mandalorian, which we now know will premiere on the streaming service on October 30. The first trailer for the new season has a hint at what's to come--including a character played by WWE superstar Sasha Banks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Nintendo announced in a recent management briefing with investors that more "visual content expansion initiatives" based on its various properties "may not be limited to film." This confirmation lines up with previous reports of the company's plan to expand the usage of its IP.It's unclear exactly what Nintendo has in the pipeline. However, the company is adamant about developing more entertainment outside of video games, saying it will "continue to invest in these entertainment expansion initiatives to increase the number of people who have access to our IP." With this confirmation, something like a Legend of Zelda Netflix animated series is not out of the question. Nintendo said it has "already embarked on multiple other visual content expansion projects," but hasn't specified what these are, when they will arrive, or what platforms they will stream on.Whatever these additional "visual content expansion" projects are, Nintendo said that the scale of investment will depend on the type of project. In either case, the company clarified it will be involved in these projects in one way or another.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

WWE's Tyler Breeze has had a long-lasting and memorable career at the wrestling promotion to date. In 2015, he had a classic match against the legendary Jushin "Thunder" Liger at NXT: Takeover Brooklyn. While teaming with Fandango to form Breezango, the duo made waves with the backstage segment "Fashion Files," which spoofed Stranger Things and Twin Peaks. Now, back in NXT, Breezango is still entertaining audiences with their job-inspired entrances, along with putting on stellar matches. In late August, Breezango beat Imperium members Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner for the NXT Tag Championships, marking the first WWE championship for either wrestler. "I think just in general 2020's crazy," Breeze told GameSpot. "It's one of those things if you kind of step back and look at it, I'm like, 'Man, I've been wrestling for like 14 years and like Dango's been wrestling like 20 years' and like we've been in WWE. So the fact that we finally got to where every tag team wants to get to is pretty nuts to me. Me and Dango have been a tag team for five years. It's one of those things that there's been times along the way when we're like the 'almost guys.' We almost got there. You're so close that you can taste it and then it just kind of goes a different direction. And that's just how it happens. And the key is you have to just keep going. And you know, I mean, my nana is used to say 'good things come to those who wait.' And so good things have happened. Now, the newly-crowned tag team champions have their first roadblock, a rematch against Barthel and Aichner on the Wednesday, September 16 episode of NXT on the USA Network. "Imperium is a very talented team, separately and together," Breeze explained. "Both are very big, strong guys. They're both very, very skilled in what they do. Obviously if you guys have watched everything they've done over at NXT UK and even on NXT, you don't just become tag champions by accident.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty: Warzone could be coming to mobile in the future. A new Activision job posting is looking for a producer to help develop features for a "new mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise." The listing mentions Warzone by name several times."Harvest, adapt and deliver the essential features from Warzone console and PC into their best mobile instantiation," the now-removed job posting read. The listing was originally reported by Charlie Intel. "Improve upon the Warzone formula by proposing and producing mobile-specific additions and changes to features to ensure the best-in-class mobile experience."Call of Duty Mobile already has a battle royale mode featured in-game, so this listing could mean Activision is expanding Warzone as a standalone product to other devices. The mobile versions of both Fortnite and PUBG have both been around since 2018, although Fortnite is currently unavailable on iOS devices due to an ongoing lawsuit between Apple and Epic Games.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Sony kicked off today's PS5 Showcase event in a big way by revealing Final Fantasy XVI, the next mainline installment in the storied RPG franchise. The reveal trailer showcased the game's fantasy elements and combat, and it looks like it'll be a next-gen only title. You play as a bodyguard to Joshua, the son of the Archduke of the region the game is set in. There seems to be some sort of blight taking hold of the land around you, bringing with it all sorts of dangers. Combat was shown off, with many nods to both Final Fantasy XV and the more recent Final Fantasy VII Remake, which released on PS4 earlier this year. The "fantasy" in this particular Final Fantasy looks like it's inspired by Game of Thrones, meaning that it looks quite different from past games in the series. Note the medieval-style architecture and all the talk of fealty and oaths in the trailer. There's also quite a bit of one-on-one combat in the trailer--it remains to be seen what FF XVI's party system will look like.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Since the announcement of the Xbox Series S, one of the questions about Microsoft's cheaper, less-powerful console has been how it will handle next-generation games. Dirt 5 doesn't entirely fit that bill, but its latest snippet of gameplay is the first footage from the Series S.The footage itself isn't all that exciting, showing off a cramped course with lots of brown walls and dimly let tunnels. When the racing does emerge into the sunlight, there's some nice lighting details on mud puddles on the track and reflections on the interior of the car. Perhaps most importantly, it seems to run very smoothly.Dirt 5 will support up to 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X, but developer Codemasters has not yet confirmed if that's the case for the Series S too. Both consoles, equipped with HDMI 2.1, will support higher frame rates, with the Series X targeting 4K resolutions while the Series S limits that to 1440p. You can read up on all the differences between the two consoles and what they mean here.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
