In 1989, writer and illustrator Kentaro Miura took readers on a decades-long journey revolving around the mercenary Guts in a fantasy world as he hunts down his enemy Griffith. Guts is primarily known for the gigantic sword he carries around, which is bigger than he is. Now, after originally ending in 2018, it looks like Berserk is coming.Manga Mogura discovered that there is a big reveal coming for the franchise on October 9, 2020. And the tagline for this announcement is "The New Beginning." CD Projekt Red's Night City Wire series has given us some very comprehensive looks at the many details and facets of the main setting of Cyberpunk 2077. During their recent stream, the developers at CD Projekt Red unveiled a fully explorable website that focuses on Night City, which you can check out right now. Similar a real-world website for any major city, the official Night City website is way more blunt and candid about the current state of things, offering us some surprising details about life in the big, expansive locale--even if most of them are somewhat terrifying. It's a cool bit of worldbuilding, and if you're interested in Cyberpunk 2077, it's a fun read to understand just how crazy the game's setting is.One of the more imaginative things about cyberpunk fiction is that it examines our present-day through an extrapolated lens, allowing us to look at our current issues in a different light. This site works well as a satire of capitalism and corporate greed, putting in similar territory to the satirical look at America in Paul Verhoeven's Robocop, but it also does a lot to show what's in store for players in the game once it releases on November 19. Here's a quick look at some of the most interesting and bizarre details from Night City's official website.A Brief History Of Night CityOne of the first features you'll see on the site is a quick rundown on the history of Night City. Located on the west coast in Central and Northern California, Night City was first established by billionaire industrialist Richard Night. He would not live long enough to see the completion of the city, but his vision would continue on. In the year 2077, Night City is a massive city-state with its own government, law enforcement, currency, and communities that inhabit it. Violence, corruption, and capitalism are the norm in Night City, and 2077 looks to be the roughest year the place has seen yet. The mayor of Night City in 2077, Lucius Rhyne, even shared his thoughts on the state of things.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's no secret that securing a preorder for the PlayStation 5 has been tough, especially after retailers began offering them right after Sony's showcase earlier this week. But it seems even if you have managed to lock down an order, you might not get a console on release day. That's the case over at Amazon, which has begun emailing customers about potential delays for PS5 orders that might result in shipping after the November 12 launch. The email cites the incredible demand for the console as the reason for delays and says that updates will be communicated to affected customers."We're contacting you about your order of PlayStation 5 Console to let you know in advance that you may not receive this item on the day it is released due to high demand. We'll make every effort to get the item to you as soon as possible once released."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

JRPG Octopath Traveler is receiving a mobile prequel, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, and the game will be released in Japan on October 28. Octopath Traveler's Twitter posted the announcement and also shared a new trailer. In honor of the game already reaching 500,000 pre-registrations, Square Enix also released a battle theme song for the antagonist Arguste.Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent's development was announced back in March 2019, and the dev team confirmed that the mobile game will retain Octopath Traveler's signature "HD-2D" look. As for plot revealed so far, the game follows characters as they confront and defeat three antagonists whose "endless ambition plunged the continent into darkness." The three enemies are the one who holds wealth, "The Witch of Greed" Helminia, the one who holds power, "The Hero" Titus, and the one who holds glory, "The Playwright" Arguste.ã€äº‹å‰ç™»éŒ²å—付ä¸ã€‘App Storeã§ã‚‚事å‰ç™»éŒ²ãŒã‚¹ã‚¿ãƒ¼ãƒˆã—ã¾ã—ãŸã€‚ãœã²ã”登録ãã ã•ã„ï¼App Store:https://t.co/rOGnYBrrGSGoogle Play:https://t.co/S9phQz5z1v※æ£å¼ã‚µãƒ¼ãƒ“ス開始ã¯10/28(æ°´)ã§ã™ã€‚剿—¥ã‚ˆã‚Šã€å„ストアã‹ã‚‰äº‹å‰ãƒ€ã‚¦ãƒ³ãƒãƒ¼ãƒ‰ãŒå¯èƒ½ã¨ãªã‚‹äºˆå®šã§ã™ã€‚#オクトラ大陸ã®è¦‡è€… pic.twitter.com/rbNpdlB2lP — オクトパストラベラー 大陸ã®è¦‡è€…ã€å…¬å¼ã€‘ (@OCTOPATH_SP) September 18, 2020ã€äº‹å‰ç™»éŒ²50万人çªç ´è¨˜å¿µã€‘西木康智( @yasunorinishiki )ã«ã‚ˆã‚‹æ–°æ›²å…¬é–‹â‘¢çš†æ§˜ã®ãŠã‹ã’ã§äº‹å‰ç™»éŒ²è€…æ•°ãŒ50万人çªç ´ã—ã¾ã—ãŸã€‚ã“れを記念ã—ã¦ã€â€œå声â€ã‚’極ã‚ã—者「アーギュストã€ã®ãƒãƒˆãƒ«ãƒ†ãƒ¼ãƒžæ›²ã¨åˆ¶ä½œã‚³ãƒ¡ãƒ³ãƒˆã‚’公開ã—ã¾ã™ã€‚https://t.co/qOd5AUgHJ5#オクトラ大陸ã®è¦‡è€… pic.twitter.com/x37Bbm0Cu0 — オクトパストラベラー 大陸ã®è¦‡è€…ã€å…¬å¼ã€‘ (@OCTOPATH_SP) September 15, 2020In his Octopath Traveler review, Peter Brown said the game "thrives on its character progression and the temptations of high-level challenges and rewards. The promise of new jobs, exciting boss fights, and powerful gear will inspire you to poke around every corner, and there are no shortage of discoveries to strive for. And all the while, you're treated to one of the most interesting and effective re-imaginings of a retro aesthetic around. Octopath will likely be a divisive game due to its fractured storytelling, but it's one worth playing despite its lesser qualities. Its high points are simply too good to ignore."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Back in June, Nintendo released a small, free fitness game on the Switch eShop called Jump Rope Challenge. If you haven't downloaded it yet, however, your time to do so is quickly running out, as the game will only be available until the end of the month. As the company previously announced, Jump Rope Challenge is being removed from the eShop on September 30. It's unclear if it will be offered again in the future, so if you're interested in grabbing it, you should do so before that date.Jump Rope ChallengeNintendo says Jump Rope Challenge was "created by a small group of Nintendo developers while working from home in Japan as a simple game to add some quick and fun movement into their daily lives." The game uses Switch's Joy-Con controllers to mimic jump rope handles and tracks how many times you've virtually jumped rope each day.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With next-gen consoles on the way, and PS5 preorders coming and going like hotcakes, one question you might be asking yourself after securing your PS5 or Xbox Series X preorder is whether you need to shell out for a new TV. The PS5 and Xbox Series X both support 4K and 120Hz. There aren't many TVs that feature both a 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, and if you're reading this article, yours likely doesn't either. The simple answer is that a 120Hz-capable TV is not required, but there are some noticeable benefits. Here's what you need to know about upgrading your TV for next-gen and the best TVs to buy for the PS5 and Xbox Series X.What's HDMI 2.1?If you want a 4K resolution with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR, you're going to need a TV with an HDMI 2.1 port. This ensures that your TV can accept the speeds afforded by HDMI 2.1 cables--48Gbps--which are what the PS5 and Xbox Series X utilize to transfer video and audio signals to your television. HDMI 2.1 is still relatively new to consumer displays, with only a select few TVs supporting it and no PC monitors currently available on the market that support it--though Asus has announced HDMI 2.1 monitors that should release in the near future.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Gears Tactics launched earlier this year on PC, and it's finally heading to Xbox Series X and Series S when the two consoles launch later this year, along with a host of gameplay and content additions. The new content will introduce Jack to the squad, who you will likely recognize as the cloaking robot companion to Marcus Fenix and co. in the original trilogy of games. Jack won't be around to rip open doors this time, giving you numerous new commands to use in combat, including area of effect skills and the ability to control enemy units. The Coalition is also adding new Deviant enemies to the game, which should help its longevity by providing additional challenges to players seeking them. These enemies will be more cunning and quick to react to your strategies, but also reward players with new high-level gear to make the demanding combat worthwhile. These content updates will be available to all console players at launch while PC players will be able to download it for free shortly after.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Developer InnerSloth has explained why its popular online multiplayer game Among Us isn't on consoles like PlayStation 4 or Xbox One yet. The biggest hurdle in the studio's way is apparently player communication. According to studio programmer Forest Willard--who played Among us with a bunch of Twitch streamers earlier this week, including 5uppp--figuring out how to implement player communication in a game that's largely text-based chat might prove difficult when porting Among Us to consoles."[A console port] is something we're starting to talk about," Willard said. "But we'd have to write a system for quick comms. It'd basically be for randoms, like Rocket League. I don't know if we'd be able to implement console voice chat or not. I know one of the first things we want to add is a friend's list-type account system because it's real hard to do anything without that s***."Among Us currently doesn't feature any sort of built-in voice chat tools. If players want to speak to each other in a lobby, they must either pull up the game's chatroom or jump to a separate app like Discord. This isn't as much a problem as is devising a way for people who prefer to not use voice chat but still want to communicate with the other players. In this scenario, Inverse reports, players would have to use a mouse and keyboard on both systems, which is possible but cumbersome.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The change from summer to fall is a big deal in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It means new weather, new fish and bugs, and one of the best holidays of the year: Halloween. Some players have gotten a jump start in decorating their islands for the jack-o'-lantern-filled holiday. They've created custom clothing designs, candy bowl hats for trick-or-treaters, and custom lanterns with spooky outlines to spread around their towns. Several players have been gung-ho about revamping their entire islands into cutesy haunted houses and pirate ships (while others are just excited to go back to the Spirit Halloween store).Daspaceinvader's Haunted Mansion DA-8725-2467-6667New Horizons doesn't have as many Halloween-themed decorations compared to Animal Crossing: New Leaf, according to players. They've had to get creative by using custom hat designs to fill out pumpkin patches and let weeds spread to create abandoned cemeteries. Others have made use of the haunted art that Redd sometimes sells.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In October 2018 Mike Flanagan adapted Shirley Jackson's novel The Haunting of Hill House, which has become one of Netflix's most popular horror series to date. This time around, it takes viewers into the world of Henry James. He's famous for his gothic romance novellas like The Turn Of The Screw, which follows a young governess (live-in nanny) and two children who may or may not be experiencing a haunting, and Bly Manor's source material comes primarily from there.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There are only two radio channels in the slice-of-life driving simulator, Road to Guangdong--one plays some blend of milquetoast "oriental" music, while the other broadcasts more upbeat and decidedly modern synthwave-inspired melodies. It's this gulf between the two genres that also seems to inspire one of the few highlights behind Road to Guangdong: the light-hearted ribbing between you and your Guu Ma--the Chinese honorific for aunts--as you embark on a road trip together. The elderly Guu Ma's disdain for the pulsating grooves of electronic music means she will always try to change the radio channel back to the vaguely Guangdong-esque music she's more familiar with, after much grumbling about the unrefined state of modern music. You can, of course, flip the channel back again, if only to annoy her--and cackle at her exasperation as she reaches out to change the music once again. While this small interaction is mildly amusing, it doesn't sustain the game's novelty for long. Road to Guangdong is a long-winding, exhausting ride--and I don't mean in terms of hours. Not only is its pacing extremely sluggish, its characters' minimalist expressions are also overly mechanical and too limited in their range to convey any emotion--an unfortunate design choice that only brings more attention to the game's flat, lacklustre dialogues. This is made more apparent when Guu Ma occasionally sprinkles some canned advice over the course of your endless drives, one of which is a recurring suggestion to change your radio channel. But why would you suggest that, Guu Ma, if the only other option is these trance-like bangers you hate so much?Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's been a big week for streaming MCU TV show news. She-Hulk has found its lead with Tatiana Maslany and pilot director, and now, The Hollywood Reporter reports that the upcoming Ms. Marvel show has locked down a directorial team--and not just any team at that. Bad Boys for Life's Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be working on the series alongside two-time documentary short Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and The Walking Dead and Punisher alumni Meera Menon.First announced back in August of 2019, Ms. Marvel will feature the MCU's first Muslim superhero, Kamala Khan, who inhereted the Ms. Marvel name from her own personal hero, Carol Danvers. Since then, Kamala has also been featured in the Avengers video game as one of the lead characters. Her powers, originally triggered by the Inhuman-creating Terragin mists, allow her to bend, stretch, and grow her body--an ability she calls "embiggening" to any size she wants.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is now available on Nintendo Switch. The collection is a limited-time release; physical and digital editions will only be on sale until March 31, 2021, after which point it will no longer be available from retailers or the Nintendo eShop. However, those who purchase the collection digitally will still be able to redownload it after that date. Our full review of Super Mario 3D All-Stars follows.Mario's never been one to turn down a shindig--one need only look at the numerous Mario Parties he's thrown over the years for proof of that--but his anniversary is one occasion that is rarely celebrated. His 25th anniversary was marked with a Wii re-release of Super Mario All-Stars, of all things--hardly the most auspicious way to commemorate such a remarkable milestone. This year, however, Nintendo is giving Mario a more fitting anniversary tribute, headlining the festivities with Super Mario 3D All-Stars, a Switch compilation featuring a trio of the plumber's most influential adventures: N64's Super Mario 64, GameCube's Super Mario Sunshine, and Wii's Super Mario Galaxy. But while Mario 3D All-Stars is ostensibly a celebration of Mario's history, a chance to revisit the plumber's genre-defining leap into the third dimension, it's still lacking in some regards. For one, you won't find anything in the way of supplemental material here: just Mario's first three 3D adventures, modestly touched up for high-definition displays, and their accompanying soundtracks. The presentation is minimal but handsomely designed, and the soundtracks are a nice bonus, but the package on the whole hardly feels like a celebration of the series in the way that, say, Kirby's Dream Collection or even the original Super Mario All-Stars did.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
