A new set of changes are coming to Diablo 3, starting with a beta on the Public Test Realm (PTR). Starting October 1, the PTR will be phasing in content updates for two weeks, including new Legendary and Set item changes and Seasonal Theme content. The Legendary and Set item changes will begin on October 1, and then Seasonal Theme content will be added starting October 8.During the testing period, players on the PTR will get two unique buffs: increased Legendary drop rate and double Blood Shard drops. To help Blizzard get the most out of the testing period, it requests that players put most of their time and attention into the Wizard's etched sigils and hydras, the Crusader's steel charge build, and the Witch Doctor's crazy chicken build. Blizzard is inviting feedback on the PTR Feedback forum and the PTR Bug Report forum. As always, Blizzard also recommends generally focusing on a single build, rather than trying to sample them all. The PTR is only available on PC, but this may indicate changes coming to the full game eventually as well. You can still claim double bounties for the remaining time in Season 21.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Animal Crossing: New Horizons' fall update finally arrives on September 30, but there's more new content on the way to the game this season. Nintendo has confirmed that another Animal Crossing update is coming in late November, and it looks like it'll add two more big seasonal events. While Nintendo didn't share any further details about the November update, the announcement was accompanied by images of Franklin the turkey and Jingle the reindeer. The former hosts the series' Harvest Festival (Thanksgiving) event, while the latter appears during Toy Day (Christmas), so it looks like both holidays are coming as part of the update.Nintendo hasn't yet explained how the Harvest Festival or Toy Day events will work in New Horizons, but in the series' previous installment, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Franklin would send you around to other villagers to gather ingredients for dishes he's preparing. Toy Day was even more involved. All December, you would need to speak to villagers and make note of what they're hoping to receive on Toy Day. Then, on December 24, you would need to dress as Santa and deliver the right presents to each villager.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The PlayStation 5 is less than two months away, and while Microsoft has been straightforward about which accessories and gaming headsets will be compatible with its next-gen console, Sony's situation has been a little less clear. The company announced in August that "third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack" will work with the PS5, though only a few companies have actually confirmed their headsets work with the upcoming next-gen console. We can't be sure a gaming headset is PS5-compatible until it's confirmed or tested, so the number of reliable PS5 headset options out there right now are slim.To further complicate the situation, Sony's official Pulse 3D headset for PS5 was the first accessory to sell out at all major retailers. Though it'll most likely be restocked, you may want to consider other PS5 headset options as well this holiday season. To make your search a little easier, we've compiled a list of the best headsets we've tested so far that are confirmed to work with the PS5.Leading up to the PS5's release and beyond, we'll update this guide with more PS5 gaming headset options as we confirm compatibility and test more products. In the meantime, check out our guide to the best PS4 controllers, which covers all of the controllers you can use with the PS5 when playing backward-compatible PS4 games. If you're shopping for a new TV, we've rounded up the best 4K TVs for PS5 as well.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Video game streaming services aren't as rare as they used to be, but there are still only a handful of companies with the resources and infrastructure to support such an initiative. The latest is Amazon, the online retail giant that has made tech inroads with its Amazon Web Services (AWS).The company introduced Luna, a cloud gaming platform that will run on a variety of devices. While Luna invites aren't coming until October, the rollout was suitably impressive and promises some distinctive features like dedicated publisher channels. Early access signups are available now, but Amazon has already shown an impressive lineup of games included with its Luna Plus game channel. It also works with any Bluetooth controller, but Amazon has made its own Luna controller that connects directly to the cloud service, similar to Google Stadia.GameSpot spoke with product lead Oliver Messenger about the service, its approach with channels, and how long the early access period may last.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

This October marks the spookiest season of 2020, as the holiday Halloween closes out the month. And like most streaming services, Amazon Prime Video will have a few selections of horror movies for you to watch from the comfort of your own couch. On October 1, the bulk of Amazon's October content drops, and you should already be familiar with most of it. On the horror side of things, you can watch 30 Days of Night, a film about an Alaskan town that gets invaded by vampires during the time of the year where the town doesn't see the sun for 30 straight days. Speaking of vampires, John Carpenter's Vampires also arrives that day as well.As you've probably heard, Amazon and Blumhouse are working together on a bunch of movies, and the first four arrive in October. On October 6, Black Box and The Lie both arrive. Then on October 13, Evil Eye and Nocturne premiere. You can check out all the trailers for the Blumhouse films at the links above. Microsoft is bringing its Xbox Remote Play functionality to iOS devices. Though the functionality was recently opened up for Android users, it's reportedly in testing on Apple devices as well, and the company expects it to come to the App Store soon. The Verge reports that a hands-on with the app showed it was already working well in beta. Like the Android Xbox app or Sony's Remote Play app, it connects with your console and runs anything you have loaded onto your console--just using your iPhone or iPad as the screen. The function will also work with the upcoming Xbox Series X or Series S.This is distinct from the Xbox streaming xCloud platform, which requires no console at all because it streams games directly to your mobile device from a data center. That functionality is on Android devices already, but not iOS ones due to Apple's restrictive policies. A recent rule change made it theoretically possible for xCloud and Google's similar streaming service Stadia on Apple devices, but it's not clear how it would work and Microsoft called it a "bad experience for customers." Xbox streaming is available with a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and its library is very similar to the Game Pass library.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The rumored Mass Effect Trilogy remastered bundle, supposedly known as the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, will launch in early 2021 instead of this October. This is according to a GamesBeat report that claims "people familiar with the development" said developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts are holding off releasing the bundle because of the original game. Mass Effect, according to GamesBeat's sources, currently doesn't "live up to the quality of the rest of the package." They go on to say that based on the graphical and gameplay differences between Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, releasing the bundle without paying ample attention to the original game's mechanics and visuals would "make a poor first impression for new players."Neither BioWare nor EA have publicly commented on the matter.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Disney's live-action adaptation machine is still chugging along despite low box-office numbers for their latest, Mulan. Peter Pan & Wendy, the upcoming live-action production of--you guessed it--Disney's Peter Pan and has found its Tinkerbell in Grown-Ish star Yara Shahidi, Deadline reports.Shahidi will be the first woman of color to star in the role in a blockbuster film, following in the footsteps of Julia Roberts who played the part in 1991's Hook and Ludivine Sagnier in 2003's Peter Pan. This is Disney's second effort to diversify the casting of characters that have formerly been portrayed as white in their animated features, following the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel for the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

I have high hopes for Rogue Legacy 2. When developer Cellar Door Games announced its deserved, but unexpected sequel back in April, I didn't realize how excited I'd be to play it. The 2013 original, with its then-unique progression, was my gateway to the roguelite and is still one of the best blends of an RPG and a run-based roguelite structure. That's high praise, and it begs the question: How do you top that? In the seven years since Rogue Legacy launched, the roguelite genre has expanded. Countless games have riffed on the blend of run-based Roguelike mechanics and RPG-style progression it helped popularize. What could Cellar Door Games possibly do to make its sequel feel as fresh and revelatory as the original? After spending more than six hours with the current Early Access version of Rogue Legacy 2, the answer isn't clear. The game doesn't try to meet those expectations.Rogue Legacy 2 is building out, not up. The sequel expands on the ideas that made Rogue Legacy stand out years ago, like adding more ways to earn incremental progress between runs and creating flashier, visual-forward family traits. However, the overall experience hews very closely to the Rogue Legacy fans know. In each Rogue Legacy run, you control a new generation of a long-time adventurer's bloodline, who all explore the same mysterious, dangerous castle and usually die in the process. Between each adventurer's journey, you have the ability to spend the gold their predecessor amassed to upgrade the family castle, improving the prospects (and stats) of future generations.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

On this week's episode of GameSpot After Dark, Jake, Lucy, and Kallie are joined by illustrious freelancer and king of Twitter comedy Funké Joseph. As always, the crew talks about what they've been playing (and doing), which includes watching video game documentary Console Wars, playing Mafia: Definitive Edition, and revisiting of one of 2019's best games, Control. After a brief interlude to talk about Ready Player One author Ernest Cline's less well-known (and far less favorable) work of poetry, the crew moves on to the week's biggest news: Microsoft's $7.5 billion acquisition of ZeniMax media, parent company to Bethesda. What does the acquisition mean for Microsoft, Xbox Series X, and Game Pass--and what does it mean for Bethesda's games and creative freedom? Will we see Bethesda games on PS5? Listen to find out what we think as we answer your biggest questions about the news.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson appeared at the first day of DC FanDome, he brought with him some exciting news about the upcoming Black Adam movie. During the panel, the former WWE wrestler revealed that the film will introduce the Justice Society of America, which is a team of superheroes that preceded the Justice League. Among the JSA members slated to appear are Dr. Fate, Cyclone, and Hawkman. Until now, though, none of those roles had been cast.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Underground and The Invisible Man star Aldis Hodge is in final talks to take on the role of Hawkman. That would make him the third actor to sign on for Black Adam, after Johnson and Noah Centineo, who will play Atom Smasher. At this point, we don't know much about Black Adam, outside of what Johnson shared at FanDome, where he revealed that his take on the antihero has a strict sense of personal justice, which may not exactly align with the JSA. However, based on how the information was presented, it certainly sounds like he'll be working with the Society, rather than against them.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
