Spider-Man has gone through a lot of casting changes in film franchises, but now the character is getting a new face for a video game. He looks pretty noticeably different, too--more boyish, like the RC Cola version of Tom Holland.A video shows a familiar early scene: Peter's first time seeing his mentor Dr. Octavius' robotic arms, as remastered with Jordan's face.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

On the heels of author Neil Gaiman announcing on Twitter that the adaptation of his landmark DC Comics series The Sandman will "begin shooting in 3 weeks, lockdowns permitting," Collider is reporting that Tom Sturridge (Velvet Buzzsaw, Mary Shelley) will have a starring role as main character Dream. It's starting to feel real. We begin shooting in 3 weeks, lockdowns permitting. #SandmanonNetflix pic.twitter.com/B4QKU9NooT — Neil Gaiman (@neilhimself) September 27, 2020Gaiman has infamously maintained for years and years that The Sandman would not be adapted until production techniques caught up with capturing the series surreal story and immense scope, so every development nailing down how this is becoming a reality brings about lots of excitement for what's in store. Serendipitiously, the 11-episode Netflix adaptation has received extra time to polish scripts due to the coronavirus-caused delays.Production was set for earlier this year, but was delayed due to COVID-19. During August's DC FanDome event, Gaiman gave a rare update on the series: "We've taken advantage of [the COVID-19] pause button just to try and get the scripts as close to perfect as possible… Right now, as the universal pause button is starting to come off, we are starting to cast again, we are starting--I'm getting these inspiring and wonderful emails with production designs, with places that I've only ever seen in the comics before now being rendered in 3D, and I'm being asked to comment on it, and that's amazing."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Pokemon Go developer Niantic has been making numerous changes to the game over the past few months to make it easier to play from home amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but some of these tweaks won't be around for much longer. Niantic has announced that some of the bonuses it implemented in the game will soon be phased out, while others will remain fixtures "for the foreseeable future."Beginning tomorrow, October 1, the distance it takes to hatch eggs will return to normal, although Niantic says it will also include more incubators in boxes you can get from Pokemon Go's in-game shop. Additionally, Incense will now only be more effective while you are walking. Your Buddy Pokemon will also still give you gifts, but only when you're close to running out, and only once per day.Although these bonuses are being reverted, a handful will remain available going forward. You'll still be able to carry a maximum of 20 gifts in your inventory, and you'll still receive triple the normal amount of XP and Stardust for the first Pokemon you catch each day. Finally, Incense that you use will remain active for 60 minutes rather than the original 30 minutes. You can read more about the upcoming changes on the Pokemon Go website.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Hori Split Pad Pro is one of the best Nintendo Switch controllers you can buy. Each handle slides into the Switch, replacing the Joy-Cons and giving you more substantial pads to use in handheld mode. Hori recently released a number of different colours, and now the company has revealed a Pac-Man-themed version of the Split Pad Pro. It's available to preorder now for $60 with a release date of November 19.The new Pac-Man design has the little yellow guy on the left controller, accompanied by the blue ghost Inky, while the right controller features red ghost Blinky, pink ghost Pinky, and orange ghost Clyde. Beneath them, the controller features the classic Pac-Man map. Nintendo Switch Hori Split Pad Pro - Pac-Man $60 The Hori Split Pad Pro provides an experience that's closer to a proper full-size controller in handheld mode. It features more accurate analog sticks, bigger face and shoulder buttons, and remappable back paddles. The paddles let you map a button on the front of the controller to the back. Unfortunately, you can't map any buttons on the right controller to the left controller's paddle and vice-versa. I found this feature particularly useful in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as I could map D-pad inputs like the tool switch to the back paddle. See at Amazon If you're interested in more product recommendations, check out our Nintendo Switch gift guide. There are a lot of different controllers, headsets, and accessories that will make any Nintendo fan happy this holiday season.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While Codemasters' Dirt 5 will offer free next-gen upgrades for both PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S players, the former will not be able to transfer any progress from the PS4 version of the game when making the jump to the newer console. This was confirmed on the game's official Twitter account in a response to a fan question. When upgrading Dirt 5 from PS4 to PS5, the game will allow you to move across any Playground track creations but no progress from its campaign, any in-game currency, and custom livery designs. By comparison, all of these are supported when moving your save from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S.Dirt 5 is supporting Microsoft's Smart Delivery program, which makes its cross-gen save situation easier to understand. But it's now another game in a growing list of PS4 titles with next-gen upgrades that won't support save transfers. Yakuza: Like a Dragon will also not let you transfer your save when it launches in March for PS5, while Sony's own Spider-Man will not let you bring over your progress to the PS5 remaster. Curiously though, save transfers between the PS4 and PS5 versions of Spider-Man: Miles Morales are supported.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

October is just around the corner, and Pokemon Go developer Niantic has already announced a handful of events happening in the game next month. Beyond the fashion-themed event, Niantic is hosting another Community Day on Saturday, October 17, and the studio has now shared some more details about it.As previously revealed, the featured Pokemon for October's Community Day will be Charmander, the runner-up in Niantic's recent Community Day poll. Throughout the event, Charmander will appear in the wild and in Raids more often than usual, making this a good opportunity to stock up on Charmander Candy. On top of that, you'll have a better chance of encountering Shiny Charmander during the event. This isn't the first time Charmander has been the star of a Community Day; the Gen 1 starter was also the featured Pokemon back in May 2018, but this time around it will be able to learn a new event move. Every Charmander that you evolve all the way into Charizard up to two hours after the Community Day ends will learn the Dragon-type attack Dragon Breath. This applies to any Charmander that evolves during the designated time frame, even if you've caught them prior to the event.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is bringing back its Zombies mode with a soft reboot, but it will still feature some familiar characters and locales. In fact, according to the announcement, the mode will take place on the very first Zombies map.The "Nacht der Untoten" map is coming back from Call of Duty: World at War. That was the first game to feature the Zombies mode, and it was a secret mode that would become unlocked after finishing the campaign. This time it's being revised to fit the new Cold War setting. You'll see the outpost as it looks in the 1980s instead of the '40s, and it's been significantly expanded to include the lab that houses Die Maschine and the outdoor area surrounding the lab.The story will bring back a familiar character, as well. Grigori Weaver from the original Black Ops will lead a CIA-backed team, codenamed Requiem. Weaver's team is investigating a bunker which has also attracted the attention of the Soviet clandestine force Omega Group. Activision promises the story of Zombies will unfold slowly over time, but this refreshed version of Zombies won't necessarily tie neatly into the previous canon.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ah yes, Among Us, the latest game that's taking over our social feeds and seizing our memes. Back in 2018, it was a way to connect with my friends back home and realize they're all still really bad liars, but have the most infectious giggles when they get caught and know I can't whoop their asses--I miss them very much. So with all that experience in catching liars, I'm here to help all you bad liars become better imposters.Admittedly, it's a bit tough to guide folks through Among Us because success revolves around social interaction, not necessarily being good at a certain game mechanic or grasping deep gameplay systems. There are optimal ways to manipulate your environment or understand how certain tasks work, but when it comes down to identifying the imposter or defending yourself from being ejected from the crew, you have to be ready to speak up. This may not be ideal for some players, so take what you feel comfortable with from this guide.Depending on the rules, Among Us pits a number of innocent crewmates against one or two secret imposters, but lumps them all into one group of up to 10 players. Crewmates need to complete a number of tasks across the map before imposters kill enough of them, and imposters need to be clever about how they blend in and commit murders. Everyone deliberates when a dead body is reported or when an emergency meeting is called, and can subsequently vote on who to eject from the group, in hopes of ridding the crew of its imposters.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After detailing the Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, publisher Activision has confirmed the game type supports cross-play.In a detailed blog post that revealed information about Zombies, Activision said squads in the mode can be "formed across platforms and generations, marking the first time in franchise history this co-op mode is available via cross-play." Regardless of whether players are on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series S/Series X, everyone can play together in Black Ops Cold War.Though the blog doesn't explicitly state it, the Zombies mode is also likely to include cross-progression support just as the rest of Black Ops Cold War does. Activision confirmed that a player's progress will be tied to their Activision account. This feature lets players freely switch between platforms, taking their save data to the console of their choosing. The same should be the case for Zombies data.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Despite being plagued with release and production delays, Disney+'s Marvel Cinematic Universe projects are still very much moving forward. The upcoming Ms. Marvel TV show has found its lead in newcomer Iman Vellani who, will be taking on the role of Kamala Khan, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The news comes shortly after another MCU Disney+ project, She-Hulk, found its lead in Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany.Kamala Khan, who recently took center stage in the Avengers video game, has become a massively popular character in the Marvel universe following her debut in 2013. A Muslim teenager from New Jersey, Kamala was introduced as a passionate superhero fan. Kamala initially believed herself to be just a regular girl, but when an attack from the Inhumans covered parts of the globe in mutagenic "Terrigen Mists," Kamala learned that there was a secret locked deep within her DNA. The mists triggered a transformation in her that activated a superpower to grow and change her body's size or "embiggen, as she puts it."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

By now you've almost definitely heard of Among Us, the exceedingly popular deception-based party game that's netted several millions of downloads in the last few months alone. While Among Us is enjoying massive success--no doubt due to lockdown, its accessible crossplay support, and the fact that it's free to play--it isn't the only game of its kind. If you're on the hunt for similar social deduction games that boast a fine balance between cooperation and deception and can be played online, no contact necessary, check out some of our favorites in the roundup below.Push the Button (Jackbox Party Pack 6)Voting players off in Push the Button from The Jackbox Party Pack 6.Platforms: PC/Mac/Linux (Steam, Humble, Epic Games), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, AndroidLike Among Us, Jackbox Party Pack 6's Push the Button is a social deception game that supports 4-10 players. It's also set in space and separates teams into humans and aliens. The humans' goal is to identify the aliens and eject them from the ship while the aliens work to sabotage those plans and get the humans to misidentify each other. I prefer Push the Button to Among Us for its more humorous minigames and deliberation sessions. In one minigame, players have to draw a picture based on a prompt, but the aliens are given a slightly different prompt. If an alien "hacks" one of the tests, a human player might be given an alien prompt, which could bring them under scrutiny from their teammates.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
