Green Lantern at HBO Max has been given the green light straight to series. The ten-episode series is the latest DC addition to HBO Max's lineup following the order of a Peacemaker prequel series for next year.Announced late last year, we now have plot details for the first time. ComicBook is reporting that the show will showcase the adventures of a series of well-known Lanterns, including Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, and Alan Scott. The series will also feature classic characters such as Kilowog and Sinestro and will introduce new heroes to the ranks of the Green Lantern Corps along the way (here's hoping for a G'nort cameo).HBO Max has ordered 10 one-hour episodes that will be co-written and executive produced by Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim. Nintendo is holding another encore Splatfest in Splatoon 2 this month. The game's Halloween-themed event, Splatoween, is returning on October 30, and you'll have another chance to snag some spooky headgear in the lead up to the competition.Unlike a typical Splatfest, Splatoween is a two-day event. CBS has released the first trailer for its limited-event series The Stand during a virtual New York Comic-Con event. Based on the 1978 Stephen King novel with the same name, the CBS All Access version offers nine episodes offering "an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil." Developer Treyarch has dropped a small update for the beta to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PlayStation 4 that makes some notable changes.The first change is a level cap increase. Previously, players could reach a level as high as 16. But now, the studio has made it possible for players to reach level 25. Nintendo has rolled out a new update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This patch is another fairly minor one, primarily addressing a small handful of issues that have cropped up in the game following its big 1.5 update late last month.According to the patch notes on Nintendo's support website, New Horizons' 1.5.1 update resolves a couple of bugs, including one where Nook Miles keywords would not appear in the passport list, and another that caused villagers to talk about pumpkins when they were given a bamboo shoot. As the launch of the PlayStation 5 approaches, Sony is finally detailing important features of its new console. Along with confirmation of which games will (and won't) be backwards compatible and what accessories will work without issue, Sony has detailed how PSVR will work on PS5, along with a hint for its future.If you own a PSVR headset and want to continue using that on PS5, the good news is that you will be able to without much fuss. The PSVR breakout box and headset will work with Sony's new console, along with accessories such as the PlayStation 4 camera and Move controllers. The camera is an important accessory, too, since Sony has confirmed that the new PS5 camera will not be compatible with PSVR.Sony states that a PS4 camera adapter will be required for use on the PS5, but the support page isn't clear on whether this is included with the console or not (beyond stating that it will not require a purchase). One of the more confusing aspects of Sony's approach to cross-generation support between the PS4 and upcoming PS5 has been cross-gen saves. Sony has clarified its stance on the matter, stating that it's up to developers to ensure the feature is supported.In a detailed breakdown of cross-generation features included with the PS5 (such as backwards compatibility for games, accessories, and PSVR), Sony confirmed that players will be able to transfer their saves between the consoles using a LAN connection, Wi-Fi, or the cloud (which requires PlayStation Plus). However, Mallory presents a path forward: She's getting funding directly from Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (more on her later) so The Boys can continue their mission of keeping tabs on the world's supes. The popular Disney ride Space Mountain is being adapted into a movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Writer Joby Harold, who is also behind Disney+'s upcoming 2020 Obi-Wan Kenobi series, has been hired to pen the script for the live-action adaptation and serve as producer.Joining Harold as producer is his wife Tory Tunnell (My Blind Brother) and Rideback Productions (The Lego Movie franchise, Aladdin). Details on the newly hatched project are still fairly barebones--there's no plot or casting information yet--but the movie is expected to have a theatrical rather than streaming release.Since first debuting at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in 1975 and Disneyland in 1977, Space Mountain has gone on to become practically synonymous with the parks themselves. The indoor roller coaster has riders blast off through a swirling solar field and throttle through many twists and turns--which should provide plenty of thrills and also serve as a good launching pad for big-screen fun. Square Enix has detailed when Final Fantasy XIV's next big content update will drop. During its latest Letter from the Producer broadcast, Square Enix confirmed that Patch 5.4, titled Futures Rewritten, will arrive in early December, and it'll introduce a wealth of additional content for the Shadowbringers expansion.Among other things, Patch 5.4 will add new main scenario quests. As Square Enix describes, "Following the grand conclusion of the Shadowbringers story in Patch 5.3, players will set out on a new adventure" in December's update. The patch will also introduce the third installment in the Eden raid series, as well as the next chapter in the Sorrow of Werlyt questline.Beyond that, Patch 5.4 will also bring the dreaded Emerald Weapon to Final Fantasy XIV. Players will be able to challenge it in both normal and extreme difficulties. There will also be a new dungeon, Matoya's Relict, which is going to be part of the new main story questline.
