Netflix recently discontinued free trials in the US, meaning that potential viewers need to subscribe to the service to watch content on there. When watching the original The Fast and the Furious back in 2001, no one could've guessed what kind of mileage Vin Diesel would get out of the series. But the longest quarter-mile in movies had to end eventually, and it will end with the eleventh Fast & Furious film. Justin Lin is in talks to direct the final two installments, according to a report from Deadline, ending the core series of Universal's most successful franchise ever.Lin is currently in post-production on F9, which Universal recently delayed even further into 2021, which means these films are nowhere near even starting. Lin has worked on the series on and off since 2006, when he directed The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Since then, he's also directed Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and of course F9.F9 is set to continue the events of Fate of the Furious, with Charlize Theron once again playing villainous hacker Cipher. The movie also adds John Cena as Dom Toretto's never-mentioned brother (what happened to "family," Dom?) and Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw. Series stalwarts like Diesel, Ludacris, and others return, along with Sung Kang as Han. We still don't know how Han is alive, although we have some theories. While it's not unusual for a new game to require updates, patches, or downloads, Control: Ultimate Edition is a collection of already released material--and the PS4 version can be played offline.505 Games has cleared this up on their support website, explaining that the Xbox One disc for Control: Ultimate Edition does not contain the full game, because it could not fit on a single disc."We have used Xbox intelligent delivery to provide some content on the disc and the rest via download," the page explains. "On PlayStation 4, this isn't the case as Control Ultimate Edition fits on a single disc, due to compression and other variables."Intelligent delivery is an Xbox system that allows players to only install the parts of a game that they want. You're prompted to download the rest of Control after reaching the maintenance elevator near the game's opening.However, while the Xbox version will only need to go online once, TheGamer reports that this download also performs a one-time DRM check. Having this ability on one of my many runs always reassured me that I could be a little more reckless with my navigation through Noita's dangerous biomes--at least it did, until I discovered that I could just as easily drown myself in many of its narrow and twisting procedurally-generated mazes.A big part of Noita's appeal is watching how all its physics-based systems interact with each other. This 2D roguelike's dynamic world is brought to life with vibrant pixels, each one reactive to the world and circumstances around it. Fires will spread and engulf nearby wooden structures, slowly burning them away. Those wooden structures might support a giant vat of toxic sludge, which will quickly pour through the tunnels of a mine once its supports are gone. This sludge, in turn, can erode enemies, infect life-giving pools of water, and melt away the ground. But it can also just as easily kill you. The simple act of knocking down a lantern creates a deadly domino effect, and part of Noita's appeal is learning to spin that into an advantage.Noita doesn't give you the means to control this chaos, but with a variety of wands and spells you can learn how to nudge it in advantageous directions. It's easiest to think of wands in Noita as weapons, while spells are the ammunition loaded into them. Escape From Tarkov patch 12.8 is now live following last week's delay. Like the last major update, there is no wipe associated with 12.8. The update size appears to be about 675 MB, which is smaller than July's update, but the changes are still significant. The addition of a heavy bleeding status effect is particularly important to note, but 12.8 also adds the compass, a handful of new weapons and skills, and more. Call of Duty: Warzone's limited-time The Haunting of Verdansk event hits tomorrow and runs through November 3. It includes a nighttime version of Verdansk in some modes, a Zombie Royale mode where dead players have to kill to revive themselves, and a trick-or-treat reward system with special blueprints and cosmetics.Activision and Infinity Ward released a trailer today that shows off many of the new costumes, game modes, and new elements coming with The Haunting of Verdansk. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, GameStop is following the lead of other major retailers, including Walmart and Target, by announcing its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day this year.
