The Addams Family just continues to be creepy, kooky, and fertile ground to revisit. According to Deadline, filmmaker Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Pee-wee's Big Adventure) is developing a new live-action TV series version of the popular satirical black-comedy series about a wealthy family who delight in the macabre.Burton is reportedly seeking to executive produce and direct all episodes of his take on the long-running franchise that dates all the way back to 1938 cartoons created by Charles Addams. Incredibly, the family has come back in new versions for new adventures steadily since the '30s--the most recent being 2019's CGI film simply titled The Addams Family. It feels like a lifetime ago when Final Fantasy VII Remake dropped on PlayStation 4 in April 2020. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta has come to a close after a short extension on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. And it seems a lot of people played it.The Call of Duty Twitter account said Black Ops Cold War's beta was the most downloaded in franchise history. There are no statistics to corroborate this. The statement also echoes what publisher Activision said in 2019 about Modern Warfare's beta being the "biggest ever in franchise history."Activision recently detailed Black Ops Cold War's new 40-player game mode called Fireteam. It puts four teams of 10 against each other to complete objectives and engage in skirmishes. Microsoft's xCloud game streaming service allows users to play titles with either a wireless controller or through touch controls. Watch Dogs: Legion is releasing very soon, and to promote the game, Ubisoft has updated some the company's previous big games with "hacked" box art. The new box art for back catalog games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey, The Division 2, Far Cry 5, and Ghost Recon Wildlands shows characters from those games wearing the pig mask from Legion. It's a very clever piece of marketing, and you can see a selection of the new box arts in the Twitter post below. It had been a while since we've seen anything out of Team Meat about the upcoming Super Meat Boy sequel, Super Meat Boy Forever, but that's now changed. Lead developer Tommy Refenes recently streamed over 10 hours of gameplay from the game's current build, and it involves a lot of bloody deaths.The game, which we last covered in 2018, has been in the works ever since, and it's looking pretty good--and challenging. While Refenes points out some areas that are still too easy for his liking, including the first boss fight, in other sections he dies plenty. This aforementioned boss fight also shows off a cutscene featuring Meat Boy and Bandage Girl's kid, named Nugget. The kid is cute, as far as lumps of meat go.You can watch the game in action below. This stream is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the original game's release on Xbox 360. It was originally announced that Super Meat Boy Forever would arrive first on Switch, but the press release sent to GameSpot just says that the game will come to Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC "when it's ready."Thanks to a semi-random generation system, Super Meat Boy contains thousands of levels--but which ones you face will change each time you play. Making Marvel comics move, whether it's for movies or television, is big business these days, and that means it's attracting some pretty big names. Lena Headey and Luke Wilson are the newest names attached to the upcoming Marvel animated series, New-Gen.New-Gen is part of the Marvel comics book universe, but it's a far trip from the places occupied by Captain America, Spider-Man, and even Thor. The story starts in another dimension where nanotech controls everything from buildings to the weather. Deadalus, the apprentice of a scientist named Dr. Gabriel, tries to use the nanotechnology to become more powerful, and accidentally infects a bunch of kids with it in the process, turning them into super-powered but apparently non-human creatures. Gabriel tries to train the infected kids and sends his infant sons back in time to modern-day New York City, while Dr. Deadalus finds he can control robotic insects with his mind and make them burrow into other dimensions. We can only hope the show gets this weird.Headey (Game of Thrones) is set to play Dr. Gabriel's wife, Thea; Wilson (Stargirl, Idiocracy, Old School) will play Roboduck.
