Next-gen consoles are almost here so the embargoes are lifting. On this episode of GameSpot After Dark, Jake, Lucy, and Tamoor talk about their experiences so far with the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. And Kurt was there too.Actually, Kurt brings a refreshing perspective to proceedings as someone who is excited for the new consoles but has had limited exposure to them. What he has had a lot of exposure to, however, is Minecraft, an interesting indie game that not many people at all have heard of but is cool enough to potentially be a success. We'll see.Kurt is also able to ask Jake, Lucy, and Tamoor what they think of the two new consoles, as well as Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales--all games that the trio have been enjoying over the last few weeks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

N7 Day--the annual celebration of all things Mass Effect--is finally upon us, taking place on Saturday, November 7. And it seems developer BioWare is teasing some sort of news related to the critically acclaimed and massively popular sci-fi action-RPG franchise for tomorrow.Apparently, Mass Effect fans should watch the BioWare blog on November 7 around 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. BioWare hasn't publicly said anything as of yet, but the studio has been talking about N7 Day all over social media, teasing merchandise and table-top RPG livestreams. It's unclear if the rumored Mass Effect Trilogy will be revealed tomorrow. With N7 Day celebrating all things Mass Effect, though, it's safe to assume it may at least be mentioned, especially since the original cast has plans to host a special panel during Saturday's festivities. In either case, the rumored bundle--which includes enhanced versions of all Mass Effect games except for Mass Effect: Andromeda--is allegedly coming sometime next year.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With the PlayStation 5 just a few days away from launch, now is a good time to just take stock of your PlayStation Network account and be sure you know what is coming with you when you make the console transition. The good news is that you lose nothing when moving over your account, with Sony offering easy ways to do so, too.Just sign inPretty much all your need to do on the PlayStation 5 to bring over your PSN account is log in. You can do this by entering your PSN username and password (and entering any two-factor authentication codes you should be using), or you can make use of Sony's recently revamped PlayStation app. Just download the app onto a smartphone or tablet, log in using your credentials and hit "Sign in on PS5". Your PS5 will provide you with a QR code that you can scan with the app to log you in instantly.Don't create a new account for a new nameThis might be obvious, but you don't need to create a new PSN account to change your Online ID. Doing so will lock you out of content stored on your existing PSN account, such as games and content purchases. Instead, you can edit your Online ID just like you can on PS4. Your first change will be free, but Sony will charge you for any changes thereafter.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In a year packed with more movie delays and cancellations than anyone could reasonably keep track of, it's completely reasonable to have lost some awareness of what has been going on with films slated for release in December. Unfortunately, Disney has announced that two such movies it had teed up for release right around the corner--Free Guy (scheduled for December 11) and Death on the Nile (was expected to release on December 18)--have drifted back into the abyss of release dates unknown, according to Variety.Free Guy, a comedy starring Ryan Reynolds as an NPC in a video game that's a blend of Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto, was originally due out in July--and given its lead and co-stars of Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) and Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), it is unlikely the movie will never see the light of day. The same also holds true of Death on the Nile, an Agatha Christie adaptation from director Kenneth Branagh (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) with a huge built-in audience. So, as seems to be the standing order with so much currently, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. With only a few weeks left in 2020, Disney's last--barring any other delays--expected release this year will be Pixar's Soul, which is coming straight to Disney+ on Christmas Day. It was originally intended for a Thanksgiving release.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In another timeline, we'd all be watching The Eternals, the second of Marvel's anticipated 2020 releases that was scheduled to premiere on November 6, right now. Instead, we're facing our first year without an MCU movie since 2009 with both Eternals and Black Widow bumped up to new release dates in 2021.Still, while releases and premieres are facing some major setbacks, production and behind-the-scenes work is still clipping right along--with the proper precautions in place, of course. One movie that is currently rolling is the highly anticipated Spider-Man 3, which is reportedly set to return Jamie Foxx to his role as Electro, blurring even more lines between the MCU shared universe and the other live-action Marvel hero franchises after JK Simmons made a surprise appearance as J. Jonah Jameson back in Spider-Man: Far From Home.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After a year away, 100 Thieves is returning to the Call of Duty League and competing under the moniker Los Angeles Thieves. 100 Thieves purchased their re-entry by acquiring Immortals Gaming Club's OpTic Gaming LA slot. We’re coming home. @LAThieves @CODLeague https://t.co/Fx7aVCbc6A — 100 Thieves (@100Thieves) November 6, 2020100 Thieves is a gaming organization/lifestyle brand with multiple esports teams under its management. It is founded by a well-known and decorated Call of Duty player, Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag. The organization has also achieved impressive results in the CoD World League, including placing second place in 2019. To the surprise of many, 100 Thieves left the CoD esports circuit in 2019 when the new Call of Duty League launched. Haag cited the prohibitive cost of entry as the exit's reason. Activision priced CoD league spots at $25 million, so any organization needs that at a minimum in order to compete. It is undisclosed how much 100 Thieves shelled out for a CoD franchise.Haag explains 100 Thieves' change of heart by stating, "We won two Call of Duty championships in 2019 so our year away reminded us how amazing Call of Duty fans are, and how much we missed them. Our fans deserve the best Call of Duty team in the world - and we’re gonna do everything in our power to give it to them."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
