Apex Legends recently added a lot of new content to the game to accompany the launch of Season 7, including the gravity-defying new Legend Horizon and a fresh map in the airborne city of Olympus. While Olympus is certainly focused on verticality, players have figured out a new way to take advantage of the map's exclusive vehicles in the form of a glitch that launches them across the map.To be clear, this glitch seems to have dubious tactical value, since you have relatively little control of the Trident's direction and arc, and it's likely to shunt you off the map or out of the circle. Still, that hasn't stopped some players from making interesting plays using the glitch, particularly this crew who managed to launch themselves down one of the map's towers.Threading the needle from the other side of the map from apexlegendsTo perform the glitch, a player must place one of Octane's jump pads inside or right next to a respawn beacon or open supply bin. If you trampoline your Trident on that jump pad, there's a chance you'll eventually launch into the air with the greatest of ease. Developers at Respawn have already replied to some of the more outlandish examples of the glitch, though it's not clear if they plan to "fix" it anytime soon.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Easy come, easy go. That's the motto anyone who watches streaming services should keep in mind, because shows and movies are leaving services just as often as they appear. And that makes sense for an independent service like Netflix or a multi-studio service like Hulu. Warner Bros., on the other hand, owns HBO Max as well as most, if not all, of the titles available on it. That includes the list below of new titles joining and leaving HBO Max in December. We can't help but wonder, then, why so many things are leaving the service this month. Wonder Woman 1984, which debuts on Christmas Day, headlines the arrivals. The departures, though, include Batman & Robin, Batman Forever, Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition, and Jonah Hex. Whether or not any of those movies are good is in the eye of the beholder, but they're all Warner Bros.-produced movies about DC Comics-owned characters, both of which are part of WarnerMedia.Wonder Woman 1984 isn't the only thing arriving in December, though. Along with the tentpole superhero film, we'll be able to watch Shaun of the Dead, the Shawshank Redemption, the 1973 Westworld film (Michael Crichton's first movie about a theme park gone wrong), and a lot more. The majority of the content drops on December 1, though the service has an almost-daily trickle of stuff throughout the month, too. Keep reading to see what's coming and going.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

One of the big challenges when designing a game based largely around realistic sword combat is finding the right balance so that attacks feel powerful without combat relying on one-hit kills (unless you take the Bushido Blade path). When designing PS4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch Productions had to find the right balance, and now the game's senior combat designer has provided a deep dive into what their process looked like.In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Theodore Fishman has delved into some of the issues they faced while designing the game's combat. A term he uses throughout is "lethality contract"--the player's understanding that if they cut an enemy with a sharp blade, they'll likely die. While it's possible to make silent kills and standoffs instantly lethal, getting the balance on standard combat was difficult."When we did our early playtests we received very negative feedback that enemies felt like 'sword sponges,'" Fishman recalls. "My favorite quote from players was 'I felt like I was hitting enemies with a foam bat.'" Giving the enemy a form of hitpoints wasn't working, so the team ended up integrating a "maximum hits to kill" system, whereby no standard enemy could withstand endless attacks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Microsoft has focused a lot of energy over the last few years into making Xbox more accessible, with the Xbox Adaptive Controller being a positive step towards addressing the unique needs of players. A product of the Xbox accessibility movement and a team of engineers in the Xbox gaming division, the controller went through numerous iterations when it was in development. Direct feedback from gaming and disabled communities helping to shape the final product into its current form."The Xbox Adaptive Controller looks absolutely nothing like the first prototype created," Brannon Zahand, Microsoft's senior gaming accessibility program manager, explained to Game Informer. "It changed many, many times over the course of development. The reason was that we built the device with the Gaming & Disability Community, not for them. As such, feedback constantly was rolling in that forced us to continually re-examine the design of the product during development."Microsoft focused primarily on people with limited mobility for the controller, prioritizing continuity and compatibility so that users could adapt quickly to the new physical language of this device. The Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S also feature accessibility functionality in their software, such as speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and a narrator, making the gaming experience more helpful for a wide variety of gamers.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem launched earlier this year in a rough state, with numerous technical issues and some unbalanced gameplay souring a visually striking actionRPG. The update is said to be coming soon in the announcement on Steam, with specific details about the patch coming closer to release. One change that Wolcen Studio did detail is the split this update will create moving forward. Any characters you currently have in Wolcen will be marked as "legacy", while new ones will be tied to the new content. Since the entire economy is being reworked, Wolcen Studio will not allow players to trade between legacy and new characters, but will still support legacy play through a separate Legacy game mode that delivers the same experience pre-patch.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A year and a half after it debuted as an online companion to Red Dead Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online has managed to create a unique identity for itself in the competitive online gaming space as a gritty and realistic cowboy simulator that offers a more meditative experience. While you can play Red Dead Online as an outlaw roaming the Wild West in pursuit of a high noon shootout, many of the game's players prefer to eke out a living as naturalists and moonshiners, enjoying a more pacifistic approach to the old frontier that Rockstar created."With Red Dead Online, we're trying to deliver every aspect of what it might be like to live in frontier America in the late 1800s, so it offers a huge variety of options for players to create the experience they want within that world," Tarek Hamad, director of design production at Rockstar North, said to GamesRadar. "By designing it in this way, there's room for players of all kinds."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
