After a cheeky tease on Twitter, Microsoft has announced that Remedy Entertainment's third-person action-adventure game Control will come to Xbox Game Pass on December 3, alongside a slew of other titles like Doom Eternal, Haven, and Va-11 Hall-A. And plenty more will be coming to Game Pass in the following days and weeks. This follows a similar tease the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account made of Doom Eternal before the brutal first-person shooter arrived on the service a week later. And like Doom Eternal, Xbox dropping the critically acclaimed action-adventure game onto Game Pass is a big win. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the version of Control available through Xbox Game Pass is the Ultimate Edition, meaning players won't have access to the next-gen version once it's out.A bevy of other games will also be available on December 3 and over the next week, including the PC version of Doom Eternal, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition, GreedFall, Rage 2, Superhot: Mind Control Delete, and Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. A personal interest of mine is Unto The End, a narrative-driven, cinematic action-platformer with gorgeous visuals and challenging combat developed by a husband and wife team. That one comes to Xbox Game Pass on December 9.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

History Channel's Vikings--a historical drama inspired by the sagas of legendary hero Viking Ragnar Lothbrok--may be wrapping up after Season 6, but it's far from the end of the partnership between the show's creative team and the powers that be at the channel. Vikings creator Michael Hirst will be executive producing a new History Channel miniseries titled The Plague Year, according to Variety. As the name suggests, the upcoming show takes place during one of the worst outbreaks of the Bubonic Plague--in London, during 1665. The show is described as a series of portraits of Londoners "of all stripes" as they decide whether to flee or remain in the city, learn "how [to] keep going when everything around you has fallen to pieces." It should be just the thing to get our minds off the coronavirus when the show premieres. A&E Studios will produce The Plague Year. In addition to Vikings, Hirst's pedigree includes similar works of historical fiction including 1998's Elizabeth, 2007's Elizbeth: The Golden Age, and the Emmy Award-winning television series The Tudors. The miniseries originates from a script by writer Coleman Herbert, whose past work includes Big Love, The Killing, and Rectify. No casting information or premiere date has yet been announced.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The CW's Arrow may have wrapped earlier this year, but in true DC multiverse fashion, some of the familiar faces you got to know and love across the show's eight seasons aren't ready to call it quits just yet. Twitch streamers hoping to get in on the Fortnite excitement today faced an unexpected hurdle. Epic Games announced that it had no way of preventing clips from today's Galactus event from getting flagged by Twitch's copyright detection systems, and it turns out it was due to the use of an AC/DC song. This led to streamers such as DrLupo temporarily cutting the game's audio in order to avoid encountering any issues."For Twitch Creators streaming the Galactus event: Due to a lack of solutions similar to Lickd, we cannot prevent your VOD/clip content from getting flagged by the platform's copyright detection systems," a tweet from Epic Games read ahead of the event. "The general recommendation is to either mute your VoDs or turn off VODs/clips entirely to protect yourselves against any kind of claims or strikes as best as possible."Hypex, a notable Fortnite leaker, said in advance that the copyright issues would only come from a small segment of the event, and that proved to be true. "Fun-Fact for streamers: Not the whole event is copyrighted music, just a 20-30 seconds part, and its gonna be so obvious to notice," they tweeted. "So I suggest you to prepare some hotkey to mute the game audio in OBS!"Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The thriller game Martha is Dead is coming to PS5, along with the already-announced PC and Xbox versions. It's scheduled for Q1 2021, and the announcement suggests that all three versions will hit simultaneously. The game takes place against the backdrop of World War 2 amid the Italian countryside. A young woman, Martha, is found drowned on the shores of a lake. Her twin sister sets out to solve the murder as the war approaches closer to their home. LKA says that the story ties in history, superstition, folklore, and psychological trauma. That all sounds pretty spooky by itself, but it's matched by an equally shudder-inducing trailer depicting the basic plotline with marrionettes. There's nothing creepier than marionettes. That's just a science fact.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After the Dark Universe debacle in 2017, the success of this year's The Invisible Man showed that Universal's catalogue of movie monsters could still produce a box office hit. The studio has several other classic monster movies in development, and it's been revealed that Conjuring and Aquaman director James Wan is working on a new movie about Van Helsing. As reported by Deadline, Wan will produce what is described as "an original horror/thriller" featuring the iconic vampire hunter, who was created by writer Bram Stoker and first appeared in his classic novel Dracula. The film will be directed by Julius Avery, who previously helmed the JJ Abrams-produced World War II horror Overlord. The movie does not have a release date yet. This isn't the first time that Universal has produced a Van Helsing movie in the last couple of decades. In 2004, Hugh Jackman starred in the critically-panned Van Helsing, and a "present day" movie about the character was in development back in 2016.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

No one predicted that Fortnite's Galactus event would have players flying battle buses in a mission that felt like it was straight out of Star Fox. The event, which played like a souped-up Disneyland ride, was a lot of fun, but it only added to the random jumble of themes that makes up the Fortnite universe. The event saw the entire lobby, along with Iron Man, Galactus, and other heroes, get sucked into what's called the "Zero Point" after Galactus tried to absorb it. The Zero Point has been a part of Fortnite's storyline since Chapter 1's Season 4 and is said to be a singularity that doesn't abide by the laws of space and time. That's the reason why different realities from the Marvel and Fortnite universes collided this season.Galactus trying to absorb the Zero Point. The event ended with Jonesy, one of the mainstays of Fortnite's narrative, lying face down in his office. He wakes up right before the screen cut to black. We saw Jonesy two seasons ago during The Device event in the same office, although he wasn't knocked out that time. Players believe that Jonesy works for a company that runs Fortnite as some sort of simulation and Season 5 may explore more of his background.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fortnite's big Galactus event has come and gone, and it was an exciting, if somewhat brief, live event. It concluded with the confirmation of when Season 5 will begin, but perhaps more notable right now is that you can't play Fortnite. Servers are down, and that's by design. The live event concluded with a "to be continued in Season 5" message, along with a seven-hour countdown that reveals a start time for Season 5: 12 AM ET on December 2. However, rather than sending players back to the menu to continue playing or grinding away at the battle pass, the only option is "exit." That closes out the game, and re-opening it only replays this short message from the end of the event. There's no way to access any component of the game right now, even including something like Fortnite Creative or Save the World, let alone the Battle Royale mode that functions as the game's main aspect. As Epic said in advance, you can't replay the event, but it turns out you can't do anything. Hopefully you didn't have plans to play Fortnite tonight. This isn't the first time Epic has done this--previously, it shut down Fortnite for days, which proved to be quite the unexpected viral moment. It's not often a massively popular game is shut down in that fashion. In this case, the wait won't be quite so long--following the conclusion of the Galactus event, there were just over seven hours until Season 5 begins and Fortnite returns.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Halo Infinite's road to release hasn't exactly been smooth. Developer 343 Industries has experienced a good deal of high-level staff turnover, the game was delayed from its place as an Xbox Series X launch title, and what we have seen of the game has been underwhelming in the eyes of some in the Halo community.Halo community director Brian Jarrard responded to these concerns on Twitter recently. He said he understands the frustration fans are feeling, because he has felt it too. He asked for patience and understanding as 343 finishes the game."As an avid fan of many properties (games, movies, TV, music) I 100% understand and appreciate the passion the Halo community has. I also understand the frustration when things don’t go the way you want or it feels like you're somehow being wronged or not heard," Jarrard said.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
