Amazon is producing a new God of War TV show for Prime Video, and the company is apparently pretty confident in it. According to writer Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, For All Mankind), Amazon has already ordered a second season, even before Season 1 has aired.Appearing on The Sackhoff Show with Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff, Moore said the God of War TV show is his current project, and writers are now putting the show together."Right now I'm working on the adaptation of this video game called God of War that Amazon has ordered two seasons of and they asked me to come in, I'm literally in the writers room and that's my new thing," he said, as reported by GamesRadar.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

As a special 24-hour promotion, developer Lucid 11 is offering Party Club for free on Steam, with the price rising to $16 afterward. There is also a special in-game outfit that players can unlock by checking out the co-op game on today's release.Party Club seems similar to the popular Overcooked series, as people work together to serve customers. In this game, however, the consumers are furry creatures and seating considerations must be addressed. For example, Lucid 11 states that putting a panda bear at the same table as a tiger could create serious issues. That's not all, either. Party Club stands out in a couple of ways from other meal-preparing experiences. The online co-op title (for up to four people) lets players set up their location before hitting a gong to open up shop to animal customers. Also, hilariously, if you're tired of working on mixology, Party Club allows for fighting clientele and removing them from the premises.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Saints Row studio Volition shut down in 2023 after 30 years, leading many to wonder about the future of the open-world crime franchise. The fate of the franchise is unknown, but Saber Interactive founder Matthew Karch shared some context surrounding the series. In short, he said the developer got too expensive to maintain."The Saints Row team is gone. They were so expensive for what they were," Karch told Stephen Totilo for his GameFile newsletter, as reported by GamesRadar. "They didn't know what they were building. They didn't have any real direction. It couldn't last. And so, who's going to fund them for the next game after that disaster?"The newest Saints Row game was the 2022 reboot. The game underperformed commercial expectations at launch, but Embracer's CEO said he was confident the game would make money and serve as a "starting point" for the series going forward.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fortnite's roster of streamers who have skins in the item shop just got a little bigger with the addition of Cody "Clix" Conrod, who, at 19 years old, will be one of the youngest people ever to have a Fortnite skin based on them. Along with the new Clix skin, there will be a full slate of Clix-related cosmetics and, in a first for this sort of thing, a Clix-themed remix of an existing skin.Clix, for those who aren't familiar, made a name for himself by earning a spot in the Fortnite World Cup in 2019 when he was just 14 years old. And while he continues to compete at the highest levels, he's also become a popular streamer and personality, which is how he's landed his very own Fortnite skin.Clix's slate of cosmetics will include a single skin that comes with two distinctive styles based on a meme you probably know even if he's new to you--one in which he's sporting a t-shirt and pajama pants, and another in which he's wearing a suit and tie. In addition to the skin, Clix's set includes two back blings, two emotes, a wrap, and a pickaxe.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Metro 2033 is celebrating its 15-year anniversary today, March 16, 2025. Below, we examine how its subtle morality system helped to illustrate its broader points about humanity and violence. In video games, evil tends to be gigantic. Think of the rivers of blood in Baldur's Gate 3's evil endings or an army of Sith bowing to the player in Knights of the Old Republic. These moments are not exactly comical, but they have a glee to them. They have the joy of a cackling cartoon villain. In some sense, Metro 2033 is no exception. In the wake of atomic devastation, the Moscow metro populates itself with cruel bandits, monstrous mutants, and authoritarian militants. It is grimmer than the prior examples to be sure, but there is still a note of the absurd in its endless cruel men. But the game's ultimate quest, to destroy a mutant army of "Dark Ones" with an atomic weapon, casts the shadow of real-world brutality. Metro 2033 concerns itself with the miniscule decisions and delusions that build up to atrocity, all under an atomic shadow. Unlike most other morality systems, Metro 2033 does not announce itself; instead it builds up the protagonist's character through tiny individual moments: beats of butterfly wings that become a hurricane. This works in a simple binary way. Completing certain tasks will net protagonist Artyom moral points. Get enough points and he'll have the opportunity for the good ending. In contrast to other games with morality systems, the player cannot see how many points Artyom has earned. There is only a sound and a flash of light (a more ominous sound plays when Artyom loses moral points). Fittingly, Artyom has humble origins. He is not a soldier. His station is distant from the comparatively sprawling central stations of the Metro and he has rarely left his home. He is as explicit a player-insert as a game like this can muster. More familiar with the world than the player to be sure, but also an outsider and newcomer to most of it. A sort of greatness awaits him. The game opens in media res: Artyom outfitted with military-grade gear and fighting a massive migration of mutants on the surface. But at the start, he is only arrogant because of his youth, not his power. He is incapable of atrocity; it takes an invitation for him to become a monster.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The 2025 Guardian Games began earlier this week in Destiny 2, but that event wasn't the only thing to arrive. Somehow, Bungie accidentally released some of its Rite of the Nine activities prematurely during the latest update. But the good news is that players will be able to keep any of the weapons they earned from completing those activities. On Bungie's official site, the devs chalked up the error to the will of the Nine, and added that, "Their will is their own." The company went on to explain that the Rite of the Nine activities accidentally leaked in Update 8.2.5 were in an extremely early state with temporary art and "fake perk rolls." The final versions of those activities will be more refined, and optimized for Explorer, Eternity, and Ultimatum modes.Luckily, Bungie accepted the mistake with good humor, and noted that the early-bird weapons won't be removed from anyone's inventory. That said, the weapons will be modified a bit to prevent any rule-breaking combos. And they will be available when Rite of the Nine launches some time after the beginning of Heresy Act III.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Since it was first revealed, Rebellion's upcoming game Atomfall has often been compared to Bethesda's Fallout. While both games do share a few similarities--from post-apocalyptic themes to killer robots--Rebellion says the game is more than just Fallout with a British coat of paint."Once you play it for a bit, you're like, 'oh, this is its own thing for sure,'" art director Ryan Greene explained to IGN. "And one of our owners, Jason Kingsley, he's a big Fallout fan, so inevitably there was going to be some parallels in that any kind of survival in the apocalypse, immediately Fallout's going to come up as a thing. And those guys are great at what they do. And that's cool. The reality is, here's this very successful franchise and we're version 1.0. To be compared to those guys--thank you very much--yes, we appreciate it because that’s a skillful team that's making that stuff."Another key differentiator in the game is its lack of a traditional main quest, as players will instead work their way through several interconnected stories that all eventually connect to the overarching mystery of the game. Greene added that Atomfall will even allow you to adopt a non-lethal approach to playing the game, and he's "fairly certain" that the game can be completed without needing to kill a single person.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
