The Game Awards 2020 ended with one more announcement just before the final award, and it was a big one. The show finished with a teaser trailer for the next Mass Effect. The teaser was vague, consisting mostly of overviews of planets and galaxies against radio chatter about planets being monitored and Reaper indoctrination. It sounds as if it's going through the history of human space travel, including real-life history. We had only one detailed view of a person, a being on a seemingly isolated area of a planet. It ended with the promise that "Mass Effect Will Continue," though it did not give a title or release details.Fans have speculated that the person picking up the N7 armor fragment in the trailer is none other than Liara T'Soni, one of the original Mass Effect party members and a popular character in her own right. She's accompanied by a few characters in the background, who are hard to make out but appear to be a Salarian, a Krogan, and a Drell.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Cyberpunk 2077 is officially upon us, unlocking at midnight local time on December 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Despite the imminent release, though, some Xbox players are manipulating their consoles to play the game early.According to Video Games Chronicle reporter Andy Robinson, Xbox owners who switch their console's region to New Zealand can unlock Cyberpunk 2077 hours before the game actually comes out. This is because New Zealand is more than 10 hours ahead of most regions.Developer CD Projekt Red already announced the release times for Cyberpunk 2077 and let users preload the game early, so knowing that the game can be unlocked by manipulating the console is unsurprising. A handful of users from both Reddit and Twitter have reported the trick to work on Xbox consoles. But the same sort of trick can't be performed on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5; the location data on Sony's consoles is predetermined by the user's account.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Streaming platform Twitch has issued a significant update to its harassment and hateful conduct policies, adding new rules regarding hate speech and sexual harassment. The changes, on the whole, seem aimed at stamping out conduct that is not necessarily malicious, but that may have a negative impact on streamers, other viewers, or the community as a whole.More specifically, the policy changes include bans on claiming that a victim of a violent tragedy is lying, encouraging DDoS attacks, certain hateful emoji, and the Confederate flag. The policy changes also bar unwelcome comments on someone's physical appearance or making sexual/lewd comments. The policy notes that this change does not include an exemption for public figures."Words and actions have meaning and impact, even if your intent is not meant to be hurtful or cause harm," Twitch wrote in a blog post. "And even if the target of your behavior or comments isn't bothered by them, others in the community may nevertheless feel impacted by it. Under the new policy, our Safety team will look at the content of statements or actions in order to determine whether a behavior is abusive and violates our guidelines, rather than relying solely on perceived intent."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Because vampires are forever, HBO has reportedly been working on a reboot of its hit vampire drama horror series True Blood. Deadline has confirmed that HBO has already been working "for nearly a year" on a new version of the series that wrapped in 2014, and it's already fairly well along with key personnel already attached to the project.Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (whose Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ends on December 31 with Season 4) will be co-writing the pilot with Jami O'Brien (creator of the similarly vampire-themed NOS4A2). O'Brien will also executive produce, as will original series creator Alan Ball (whose drama Uncle Frank just hit Amazon Video).Although it hasn't really been that long since 2014, it's been long enough that Aguirre-Sacasa and O'Brien can provide a fresh take on the series--which Ball adapted from Charlaine Harris' series of novels, The Southern Vampire Mysteries, which spanned 13 entries from 2001 through to 2013.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
