The flat-pack furniture company IKEA has found a clever way to help customers pick a media storage cabinet: cardboard mock-ups of the PS5 and Xbox Series X so that gamers can check if the display units will fit them.A user on Reddit photographed the mock-ups, which include measurements (in millimeters and inches) across the sides. The PS5 mock-up even includes the system's space-age style curved body with white fins. The PS5 box reads, "Which Ikea media storage unit will be able to fit my new, meme-ishly oversized, gaming console?" The photo doesn't appear to show a model for the notably smaller Xbox Series S.It's unclear how widespread these guide boxes are, so they may not appear at your local IKEA. The Swedish furniture chain is known in particular for its storage furniture, sporting names like Hauga and Lommarp.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While the demise of the short-form video service Quibi wasn't a big surprise to anyone who has followed the misfortunes of the company since it launched in April last year, it did leave the question of what will happen to its content. Quibi produced a wide variety of series during its short lifetime, all of which became unavailable when the service was officially shut down in December. It's now been reported that Roku is negotiating to buy the rights to this content.According to the Wall Street Journal, Quibi is in "advanced talks" with Roku to sell the streaming rights to its catalog. If the deal goes through, Roku will release the shows to its free, ad-supported Roku Channel. Neither Roku or Quibi have commented on this report.Quibi announced that it was shutting down in October, and the app stopped functioning at the start of December. At that time, a statement from the company said that it didn't know what would happen to its original shows, which include horror anthology 50 States of Fright, the thriller Most Dangerous Game, the reboot of Reno 911, and a wide variety of reality programming.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Music streaming services like Spotify might be the most popular way of consuming music these days, but they can be hit-or-miss when it comes to video game soundtracks. When it comes to the Persona series, however, that's about to change, as the OSTs for most of the Persona games are coming to Spotify on Tuesday.According to the anime playlist curator AniPlaylist, the soundtracks to Persona 2, both Persona 3's, both Persona 4's, and Persona 5 will be added to Spotify at midnight on Thursday. Spotify will also receive additional music from the series, including the Persona 4 Dancing All Night OST, the P4 Arena Ultimax OST, and the Never More -Reincarnation: Persona 4- remix album. Notable omissions include the Persona 5 Royal OST and the Persona 1 OST, which was remade for the PSP in 2009.The Persona series became one of the biggest names in RPGs after the smash success of Persona 5 and its definitive edition Persona 5 Royal, which was released last year. After a finale that left a bad taste in many fans' mouths, Dexter is returning to TV in 2021 with a revival show featuring Michael C. Hall reprising his role as the killer with a conscience. Hall has now shared a little more insight on what drew him back to the show after so many years away. He also touched on the series finale and whether or not the criticisms are valid."It's a conversation that's been ongoing, and different possibilities have emerged over the years. I think in this case, the story that’s being told is worth telling in a way that other proposals didn't, and I think enough time has passed where it’s become intriguing in a way that it wasn't before," Hall told The Daily Beast. Hall also reflected on the divisive ending to Dexter, where he basically exiles himself to a life as a lumberjack in the north. Hall acknowledged that the ending was "pretty unsatisfying" for some people, with many wondering what Dexter would do next in his life. Hall felt that way, too.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Valorant leaks showcased the next agent likely to join Riot's character-based tactical FPS. Named Yoru, the new character's skill set revolves around stealthy abilities. Russian YouTube channel БÐЧОК shared what looks to be a legitimate demonstration of Yoru's kit.Reddit user kuroi_kaze_ translated the video's ability descriptions to provide more info. Yoru's X creates step sounds to throw off enemies and can also pre-place the fake footsteps. His X blinds enemies by throwing a flash that will pop after hitting a surface. Yoru's C places down teleports, and his ultimate ability turns him invisible and invulnerable for a limited time.Valorant's Episode Two, Act One will arrive soon, and leaked previews of Valorant's next battlepass and new menu--courtesy of the same YouTube channel БÐЧОК--are out on the internet. In December 2020, Reddit user dead_is_death posted about a glitch with the Cold Front gun and its Dragonfly perk in Destiny 2. Despite the Cold Front submachine gun being a Kinetic weapon, it can still roll with the Dragonfly perk. In other words, Cold Front can drop for players equipped with the Dragonfly perk, which causes an elemental explosion on kill, despite the fact that Kinetic weapons don't have an associated element. This leaves what the perk is actually doing on kill as kind of a question mark.As you might imagine, this has caused some issues that have ultimately caused Bungie to remove this roll in an upcoming patch. Bungie's assistant director for Destiny 2, Joe Blackburn took to Twitter to announce this and explain the decision: "Wanted to give a quick update on Coldfront. The Dragonfly perk was not designed to work with kinetic weapons and causes some technical errors. Because of this, in an upcoming patch all Coldfronts with the Dragonfly perk will have it replaced with the Swashbuckler perk."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Speedrunning events like Awesome Games Done Quick and Summer Games Done Quick are a great way for runners to build their profile and show off the games that they specialize in. Given how competitive many of these games are and the pressure that the event brings, it's relatively rare for a runner to actually set a world record at a marathon. However, that's exactly what happened to a certain Sonic The Hedgehog speedrunner on Monday. The Sonic runner FlyingFox set a new world record in the original Sonic the Hedgehog during the "Sonic block" on Monday. The run saw FlyingFox play through the entirety of the original game with the character Tails, which is possible only in the 2013 rerelease of the game on Android and iOS. Because the category relies on in-game time, not real-time, it took the moderators a moment to realize that FlyingFox set the record, during which time the runner said she was just happy that she "didn't die." This delay was caused in part due to the event occurring virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Are you kidding, BACK TO BACK WORLD RECORDS?! Another one by 9 seconds thanks to another ridiculous run by @zaxon96 in Sonic 3: AIR, congratulations! What the heck are these Sonic runners eating today? #AGDQ2021 — Games Done Quick (@GamesDoneQuick) January 4, 2021Just after FlyingFox's run, the runner Zaxon96 set a new world record in the Sonic fangame Sonic 3 AIR, which is an enhanced port of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. According to the Games Done Quick Twitter account, this is the first time that back-to-back world records have been set at a GDQ event, which is certainly a historical milestone.Info from Gamespot.com

While Cyberpunk 2077 does feature a third-person camera, the view is relegated exclusively to driving vehicles--unless players glitch the game. However, a new PC mod looks to fully convert developer CD Projekt Red's first-person RPG into a third-person RPG.The mod, available on Nexus Mods and uploaded by user sarunama, is a work-in-progress. It does exactly what it says: Pushes the camera behind the character so players can get a wider view of Cyberpunk 2077 from the third-person perspective. However, in order for players to get access to the third-person plugin, they must download two mods: the TPP mod itself and the prerequisite mod Cyber Engine Tweaks, which is also downloadable from Nexus Mods.Once both mods are installed, players can hit the "B" key to choose from four different third-person camera angles. YouTuber Slothability breaks down how to install the mod and provides a brief demonstration. Being a work-in-progress and with Cyberpunk 2077 created as a first-person game, character animations are erratic and wonky. It doesn't break the game in any way, but the mod is likely to make the experience even more unstable than it already has been. CD Projekt Red promised more bug fixes are planned for January and February of this year.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

This year will mark a decade since the release of The Binding of Isaac, the monster roguelite that launched a thousand roguelites. But while it's been seven years since the major expansion Rebirth, and four years since Afterbirth added better mod support, Isaac will get one final major expansion to close out the game.Titled Repentance, this expansion officially adopts a lot of content from Antibirth, a popular mod for Isaac that was released back in 2016, and several of the developers behind Antibirth are working with lead developer Edmund McMillen to put the game together. According to McMillen, Repentance is a sequel-sized expansion that is to the current game as the Rebirth was to the original flash version of Isaac.Though many other roguelites have followed in McMillen's wake, most recently the smash-hit Hades, The Binding of Isaac is still arguably the biggest game in the genre, with many streamers still playing the game to this day. Given its pedigree and legacy, It remains to be seen if fans will embrace the changes that Repentance will bring to the game, since previous expansions have proven controversial among the game's fanbase at times.Info from Gamespot.com

Team Cherry has kept details about Hollow Knight: Silksong, the indie studio's sophomore effort, close to the chest since its announcement. But we've now learned some more about the upcoming soulslike metroidvania, including how protagonist Hornet's design influenced the creation of the game's setting, Pharloom."Hornet being taller changes everything," Hollow Knight: Silksong game designer Willian Pellen told Edge, in an interview published in Issue #354. In comparison to Hollow Knight's rather small unnamed knight of a protagonist, Silksong features the tall Hornet, a half-insect warrior princess."Hornet can travel so much faster, she can jump higher, she can mantle or clamber onto ledges, she's generally more acrobatic," Hollow Knight: Silksong animator Ari Gibson told Edge. "So the caves around her need to accommodate her height."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
