Season 2 of Solar Opposites, Hulu's show co-created by Rick & Morty's Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan, will be hitting the streaming service with eight new episodes on March 26. This is obviously great news for Solar Opposite fans, but also exciting news for Rick & Morty fans--a show notorious for long delays between seasons, made all the more kinda frustrating knowing there are dozens on their way in the coming years. Check out the expletive-laden trailer for Solar Opposites' second season below.Based on the trailer, Season 2 is a bit of a reset on Season 1--centered around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding home world only to crash land into suburban America, and their efforts to leave Earth have been thwarted, or at least temporarily delayed. The small squad are evenly split on whether Earth is great--"Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food, and fun stuff."Roiland has otherwise been keeping busy with other projects, including the now homeless Quibi series Gloop World (which might get snatched up by Roku in an acquisition) and his game development studio Squanch Games (which in 2019 released Trover Saves the Universe).Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

2020 was a rough year for many of us, but there was another crisis going on that you probably weren't even aware of: a time crisis. Unfortunately, no light guns will save us here. According to TimeAndDate.com, the Earth spun faster than in 2020 than in any other time in the past 50 years, with the 28 shortest days since 1960.As reported in the Telegraph, experts and astronomers warn that timekeepers may need to introduce a negative leap second in order to stay accurate. Leap seconds--which are used to accommodate differences between atomic time and less-precise solar time--have previously been used to solve such issues. However, a leap second in 2012 wreaked havoc across the Internet, with Reddit, Yelp, Mozilla, and others reporting Y2K-esque crashes due to the shift. Some experts have called for an end to leap seconds entirely, opining that they are a relic of a past age, since much of the world relies on atomic time today. The World Radiocommuncation Conference may end up abolishing the practice in 2023, though it's unclear how likely this is to happen. Earth's rotational speed varies considerably due to the motion of tides, the atmosphere, and the planet's core, as well as other factors, such as snowfall on mountains.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show next week, Samsung has revealed its new line of 4K and 8K TVs set to launch later in 2021.All the models announced today make use of brand new QLED technology that Samsung is branding "Neo QLED." The biggest benefit is that Samsung has managed to reduce the size of the LEDs that act as the backlight in its display, allowing for drastically more dimming zones and the reduction of blooming. Traditional LED displays require backlighting for brightness, but the size of the LEDs has often led to distracting light bleed in scenes where only small portions of the image are overly bright or dark. This is one of the biggest benefits of OLEDs, which are self-emissive.According to The Verge, Samsung is promising up to "up to almost 30,000 tiny LEDs" and "up to 2,500 dimming zones," which will make backlighting in this year's models noticeably better than those from 2020. Samsung announced to 8K models (the QN900A and QN800A) as well as numerous 4K models (QN95A, QN90A, and the QN85A). The number of dimming zones does decrease with less expensive models, but Samsung hasn't detailed each individually yet.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has brought back one of the Halo franchise's most famous modes: Grifball. Available now in The Master Chief Collection, Grifball is one of the zaniest and most enjoyable/frustrating modes across all of Halo. For those just catching up, Grifball is a non-traditional team-based multiplayer mode where players are equipped with a gravity hammer and energy sword and must try to plant and detonate a bomb. Things rarely go to plan, and the mode often leads to some white-knuckle action and excitement. The future is now and with it comes the greatest sport known to Spartans. CD Projekt Red took to Twitter to refute a post created by an alleged anonymous Cyberpunk 2077 developer. The post in question received a lot of attention on Cyberpunk 2077's Reddit page, but was originally sourced from GameSpot's sister site GameFAQs.Normally we don't comment on rumors but this time we wanted to make an exception as this story is simply not true.https://t.co/JuOTY2qJbM — Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) January 6, 2021The post contained a lot of rumors, from update schedules to descriptions of what content was cut. It alleged that Cyberpunk 2077 would possibly receive a "No Man's Sky style comeback," and that the redone Cyberpunk 2077 would be finished in June 2021 with a "good chunk of code...getting scrapped and rewritten from scratch." June's update supposedly would sort out all the bugs found on all versions, and would bring back a lot of cut content.Elaborating on the cut content, the writer told players that if they "see that you guys are asking for s*** to be put back into the game, we might actually make the game we intended back in 2018." The writer alleged that there was a huge underground area that looked like "Malkavian/Nosferatu path on Vampire the Masquerade," and stated that apartments with "Closed (locked) indications used to be lootable."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Every aspect of Super Meat Boy Forever is frustrating in some way or another. It's a runner, so you have to time your jumps and don't have the liberty of setting yourself up perfectly before taking on a puzzle. And despite putting you on a treadmill, its levels demand incredible nuance and precision, which you'll hone through failure after failure after failure. Super Meat Boy Forever will kick you in the teeth and expect you to stand back up, flash a bloody grin, and go after it again. And that's exactly what happens. Though the jumps may be challenging, Forever's incredibly precise controls give you all the tools you need to stick the landing. The runner format is different, but it opens the door for new and interesting types of complex puzzles that spawn new, captivating varieties of spectacular yell-and-throw-your-controller platforming.Like in the real world, time has passed in the Meat Boy universe. Meat Boy and Bandage Girl, whom he saved in the original, have settled down and had a baby, Nugget. In Forever, Nugget is kidnapped, so Meat Boy and Bandage Girl go after her. (You can play as either one from the very beginning.) The story has no material effect on your gameplay, but the short cartoon cutscenes find ways to grab your attention all the same with a webtoony out-of-left-field story chock-full of references to video game canon, adorable woodland creatures, cuddly animals, and the adorable little Nugget, who often proves too adorable for even her captor to ignore.Super Meat Boy Forever captured on PCThe cutscenes are thus an entertaining reward for hard-earned progress. Following in the original Super Meat Boy's footsteps, Forever lays out levels sprinkled with bottomless pits and buzzsaws that require quick thinking and quicker reflexes to escape. At the same time, it's a very different game. Meat Boy or Bandage Girl constantly runs forward, and you simply control when they jump, slide, or punch. By necessity, the levels take on longer, more horizontally oriented shapes to accommodate the new system. Despite those changes, Forever still retains the essence of Super Meat Boy. Though automated movement theoretically seems like it would make the platforming less satisfying, since you aren't in complete control, Forever's challenge is just as captivating.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In a statement, the studio explained that the coronavirus pandemic had hampered key components of the game, forcing it to move its resources to other projects."Minecraft Earth was designed around free movement and collaborative play--two things that have become near impossible in the current global situation," Mojang said on the Minecraft blog. "As a result, we have made the difficult decision to re-allocate our resources to other areas that provide value to the Minecraft community and to end support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021."A final update to the game, releasing today, will make some changes to facilitate playing indoors, while also removing monetization hooks. The update will remove all real-money transactions, grant some free character creator items, drastically reduce ruby costs, and reduce the time and resources needed for crafting items.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
