Nintendo took to YouTube to announce that its mobile action-RPG Dragalia Lost will get a brand-new crossover event featuring the characters from the upcoming Persona 5 Strikers.The event is scheduled to go live later this month for Android and iOS devices, though Nintendo hasn't provided an exact start date for the raid. Dragalia Lost director Yuki Okada did share some details about the event in the announcement video, including confirmation that Persona 5 protagonist Joker and various other members of the Phantom Thieves will be playable in-game. While working with the Halidom, the Dragalia Lost and Persona 5 Strikers characters will team up to "solve a strange incident in a brand-new story," according to Okada.Okada also confirmed that the event will feature animations and graphics reminiscent of Persona 5 Strikers. And as players complete quests, "another adventurer" will join their roster. More information will be posted inside Dragalia Lost and on the game's official website and social media channels. Pokemon Sword and Shield's Shiny Skwovet event has returned for a limited time. From January 8-10, you'll have a chance to find the Shiny Pokemon--along with a handful of other monsters--in Max Raid dens and earn some rare berries and other rewards.Throughout the event, Shiny Skwovet and Shiny Greedent will be appearing in five-star Max Raids, although they'll be quite rare, so you'll need a bit of luck and persistence to find them. On top of that, Amoonguss, Cherubi, and Shiinotic will also be appearing more frequently in Raids, and you'll earn extra berries for capturing or defeating the featured Pokemon.The Shiny Skwovet event runs until 3:59 PM PT / 6:59 PM ET / 11:59 PM UTC on January 10, so you only have a limited time to participate. A new documentary has been announced that will explore the life and career of Karate Kid star Pat Morita. Entertainment Weekly has posted the first trailer for More Than Miyagi: The Pat Morita Story, which promises to dig into how and why the Japanese-American actor was able to break through so many barriers in an earlier Hollywood landscape that wasn't always known for inclusion.Sixteen years after his death at the age of 73, Pat Morita--star of The Karate Kid and honorary star of the Netflix hit Cobra Kai--is largely remembered for his role as the Okinawan karate master who mentors Daniel LaRusso and Julie Pierce in the Karate Kid films. Director Kevin Derek has compiled a film that tells the comedian-actor's life story, complete with archival interviews and new conversation with many of his co-stars, including The Karate Kid's Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, Happy Days' Marion Ross and Henry Winkler, and fellow comics Larry Miller and Tommy Chong.Cobra Kai recently--and thankfully--bumped up the release of Season 3 to New Year's Day. The Office's official YouTube page has uploaded one of the many, many new Peacock-exclusive extras the platform is offering to celebrate the series coming back home after its lengthy stay on Netflix. The video is a nearly seven-minute Office set tour with Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson, who charmingly and somewhat dissonantly drift in and out of character, likely almost exclusively (based on their haircuts) pretty early in the show's run. Check out the full video below.Highlights include Carell snacking on the famous jelly beans at reception--and then instantly regretting having done so as "they've been there since we shot the pilot 14 months ago," Wilson both as himself and Dwight Schrute begging Carell for a part in his next movie, and Carell trying the candy up front again and again. As Office fans know, Wilson later got his wish when Dwight had a starring role in Michael Scott's Threat Level Midnight--which during the Netflix era was also uploaded to YouTube as a full movie.While these new nuggets are totally cool and worth watching, they are all part of a bigger effort to check out the show on its new home at Peacock. League of Legends' opening day stream for the 2021 season brought a ton of announcements for the game's future. One of these announcements was an update on the upcoming League of Legends: Wild Rift, which is a new mobile and console version of the popular MOBA. Additionally, players in North America will be able to try it out in March. As stated in the stream, Wild Rift will feature its own version of the PC version's ARAM mode (where players are randomly assigned a champion in a one lane brawl), and will also be aiming to release an average of two champions a month throughout 2021. Indie game distributor Limited Run Games will release physical copies of the remastered version of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, the company announced on Twitter. Xbox versions of the game will arrive "at a future date."There are three editions of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game available through Limited Run Games, with preorders going live for six weeks starting on January 15 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. A new cheat in Call of Duty's battle royale Warzone is now allowing a small group of competitive players to completely ditch the game's skill-based matchmaking and instead enter matches filled with low-level players and/or bots, according to Call of Duty YouTuber Drift0r.In an interview with PC Gamer, Drift0r said that he was able to enter matches populated by AI-controlled adversaries about "two thirds of the time." The other third of the time, the matches were filled with lower-skilled players who are more likely to be new to the game. Some K/D ratios observed in these matches were as low as 0.72. Drift0r declined to explain how the cheat works, fearing it would add fuel to the already present fire.Despite these bot and low-skill players being predominantly present in these matches, Drift0r also noted that there were other several high-skill players in these lobbies as well, likely using the same exploit to garner easy wins. While that impulse is maybe understandable in a vacuum, Drift0r is pessimistic about what it will mean for the Warzone scene as a whole if the cheat becomes more widespread. Disney's first big new TV show of 2021 is WandaVision, which features Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen reprising their Marvel roles, and it's almost here. Ahead of its premiere on January 15, Disney has confirmed that not one but two episodes will debut on release day.Previously it was expected that only one episode would be available for the debut. After that, new episodes of WandaVision will premiere on Disney+ on Fridays at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET.The new show follows Vision (Bettany) and Wanda (Olsen) as they live their lives, seemingly trapped in a sitcom which bounces around between time periods. Despite having released all the way back in 2013 through Early Access, the PC survival game Rust is enjoying a new lease on life recently after numerous streamers started playing it again. This uptick in attention has led to a huge spike in sales and revenue, according to Garry Newman of developer Facepunch.Newman revealed on Twitter that Facepunch made more than $1 million in gross revenue on two different occasions this week on Steam. The movie based on the video game Borderlands is in development, and from the sound of it, production may begin very soon. The movie will film at least partially in Budapest, Hungary, according to Adam Goodman of MidAtlantic Films, a Hungary-based production company.Goodman told The Hollywood Reporter that MidAtlantic has created space in its studios for the Borderlands movie, while other big-name projects will also film there. Well, now you can have him shred the Continent's powder with this Witcher 3 mod that gives our favorite monster hunter a snowboard.The mod is called Geralt VGX Snowboarder, and it adds a snowboard that Geralt can find on an altar in Skellige that overlooks the bay of Kaer Trolde. As noted by the mod's designer Feregorn, this area is home to some great items and is also "a solid spot for avid virtual instagrammers." The mod also provides Geralt with some snazzy snowboarding goggles to protect his cat eyes from the cold.The accompanying snowboard can be equipped in either a weapon or boot slot, so Geralt can use it to hit either the slopes, or his enemies.
