Lego has revealed its new Lord of the Ring Shire set, a kit that will allow fans of the film trilogy to build the iconic home of the Hobbits. Priced at $270, it'll go on sale starting April 2 for Lego Insiders first and then roll out to everyone else starting April 5. Lego Insiders will also get a free Lord of the Rings gift valued at $40 with their purchase. Lego The Lord of the Rings: The Shire $270 This set contains 2,017 pieces and nine minifigures, and as you'd expect, it contains various details from the Lord of the Rings films it appeared in. The bulk of the pieces are dedicated to rebuilding the home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins--Bag End-- and you'll be able to build various rooms. The collection of minifigures here includes Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo, Frodo, and Samwise Gamgee, so you can relive moments from the Fellowship of the Ring. Other parts of the set include Gandalf’s cart, the dragon fireworks, and the party tree where Bilbo celebrated his 111th birthday. See on The Lego Store Gallery For the free gift, Lego Insiders will get a cute little set that captures one of the darker moment from the films. This is a quick-build 181-piece kit that recreates the tragic scene where Smeagol and Deagol discover the One Ring that was thought to be lost. While Lego hasn't produced as many Lord of the Rings sets in recent years as it used to--the majority of these have been retired--we have seen impressive kits roll out lately. The enormous replica of the Barad-Dur tower is a space-stealing structure composed of almost 5,500 pieces, but it is pricey at $460. If you're looking for something that'll take several hours to build, this could be worth picking up as it features numerous rooms like Gollum's hideout, Sauron's throne room, and a prison for Orcs, all with several cool Easter eggs hidden inside of them. Once fully built, it reaches nearly three feet in height.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Readers of fantasy fiction can get a deluxe hardcover version of one of the best novels in the genre published in the last 20 years for cheap at Amazon. The Name of the Wind 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition by Patrick Rothfuss is on sale for only $16.65 (was $45), which is the lowest price since 2020. The Name of the Wind: 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition (Hardcover) $16.65 (was $45) Originally published in 2007, The Name of the Wind received rave reviews and quickly earned Rothfuss legions of fans. It's the first book in The Kingkiller Chronicle, an ongoing saga that currently contains two novels and two novellas. The 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition is a 752-page hardcover with more than 50 pages of extra content. Among the new content is a smattering of illustrations, a detailed world map, a note from Patrick Rothfuss, an appendix discussing the world's currencies and calendar, and a guide to pronouncing the various names and places throughout the novel. You'll also get a bold new cover design from artist Sam Weber and designer Paul Buckley, which makes it an excellent centerpiece for fans of the series. See at Amazon The Name of the Wind tells of the story of Kvothe, a young wizard in the world of Temerant. It uses a unique style that employs both first-and third-person narration, as Kvothe talks to a scribe about his past while a separate story is unraveling in the present. It's a fantastic fantasy novel that tells a sprawling yet simultaneously intimate story. If you're looking for an even more affordable version of the book, the trade paperback of The Name of the Wind is just $8.26 (was $22). But since you're getting so much more content and a better-quality book, the 10th Anniversary Edition is probably worth the extra eight bucks. There's currently no reason to consider the standard hardcover version, as it's more expensive than the fancier edition at $17.46.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Grand Theft Auto VI is coming this year, and it's expected to be a huge success with 40 million sales and $3 billion in revenue in its first year. Its release looms so large that some publishers are apparently considering delaying their games to avoid a clash.Three anonymous "major" video game publishers told The Game Business that they are "ready" to delay upcoming projects due to GTA 6. The report didn't say what these companies are, but an anonymous boss of "one of the world's biggest game publishers" told TGB that Rockstar's releases "always suck a lot of money, and more importantly, time out of the market.""We don't want to be anywhere near that. We are working up multiple different plans for our titles," the anonymous executive said. Another unnamed senior executive at a publisher said even without GTA 6 coming to market, it's become "immensely difficult to find free time for new games to shine. Time is the real scarcity for us, not money. It's tough out there."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore characters who permanently died during recent DDoS attacks will be restored, Blizzard says, citing the disruption as "a cut above anything we've faced before."The attacks happened multiple times over the weekend and affected a large number of players, but in particular seemed targeted at the WoW Classic Hardcore streamer guild OnlyFangs, a group that has made a name for itself on Twitch playing WoW Classic's high-stakes permadeath mode. During a boss fight against Ebonroc in Blackwing Lair, many Onlyfangs players were disconnected as a result of the denial-of-service attack, resulting in a large number of guild members dying. The guild leader, a player by the name Sodapoppin, announced what amounted to the end of the guild shortly after. He cited the targeted attacks as making the continuation of the guild difficult unless Blizzard decided to restore killed characters, something he said he believed was "highly unlikely."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Developer Epic Games is apparently putting its best foot forward with a pair of toe-tally new shoes for the game. It's a somewhat unexpected move, as a new director, Kitao Sakurai, just came aboard in late February, replacing the previous co-directors, the Philippou brothers. That development might have signaled the movie was making progress, and perhaps it still is. As Variety pointed out, the Street Fighter movie could be rescheduled and eventually released, but as for now, it has no release date.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Outlast Trials update 2.1 has arrived, bringing new limited-time events, missions, and a whole bunch of new cosmetics, including several skins in a game already chock full of some of the creepiest character costumes in all of video games. It includes several skins, including one that resembles the Zodiac Killer's famous get-up.
