The next big title update has been announced for Assassin's Creed Shadows, and this will see numerous quality-of-life upgrades added to the game, improvements to the PS5 Pro version, and several bugs are addressed. Title update 1.0.2 will be available to download on all supported platforms on April 8, starting at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET.Ubisoft says that it has focused on various game improvements, like an auto-follow option for players when they're on horseback. While this function was present in several of the previous Assassin's Creed games, it was absent when Shadows launched in March. To use it, players can activate the pathfinder feature to enable auto-follow to a marked destination. Horse speeds in cities have also been increased, but you'll still want to watch out for pedestrians so that you don't anger the local authorities. Other highlights of the patch include the option to tag and sell/dismantle multiple items in shops or at the hideout forge, the ability to reset Mastery nodes in the skill trees, and a new shortcut for direct access to the investigation board. If you're playing the game in Performance mode, the Hideout will no longer be capped to 30fps when you visit it.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

One of the more mysterious elements of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was the Upgrade Packs, the one-time-purchase codes that let owners of certain Nintendo Switch games to access each game's upgraded Switch 2 Edition versions. The biggest mystery surrounding the Upgrade Packs was the cost, and Nintendo of America VP of product and player experience Bill Trinen has confirmed in an interview that the codes will cost $10 each--at least for the two Zelda games.Speaking with IGN, Trinen responded to a question regarding the Upgrade Packs by confirming that anyone who has purchased The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom can make a one-time purchase of an Upgrade Pack for $10. The $80 MSRP that emerged after the event, Trinen says, is only for those who have not previously purchased the game. "For somebody who has bought Tears of the Kingdom or Breath of the Wild, the upgrade packs for those are $9.99," Trinen said. "And if you happen to be a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack member, both of the Zelda upgrade packs are inclusive within that membership. Artificial intelligence remains one of the biggest talking points in video games and many other industries, and now Nintendo of America's president has weighed in to share his thoughts.Doug Bowser told CNBC that he sees opportunities for AI technologies to enhance productivity in some areas, but when it comes to actual game development, humans will always lead the way."If developers choose to use AI--and it is a discussion right now at Nintendo--it's not the only method of developing games," he said. "We still believe that what makes our games special is our developers. Their artistic capabilities. Their insight into how people play. So there is always, always going to be a human touch and a human engagement in how we develop and build our games."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

For decades, Nintendo has introduced a string of iconic characters that have transcended their video game spaces and become pop culture icons. From television to movies to their own theme parks, Mario and friends have become a merchandising machine--something the company has understood for some time now, and what Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser wants to continue."Going all the way back to our origins in 1889, we were all about entertainment. We started out as a manufacturer for playing cards...through our history, we've had various interactions of gameplay. Whether that's toys, bowling alleys, a whole host of things," he said on MSNBC. "Now? Absolutely. Video games are at the core of our entertainment experiences, but we've also learned that these characters and these worlds have the ability to step beyond the video game environment." He was asked if Nintendo was "coming after Disney" with this kind of approach. Bowser didn't see it that way, but wanted to state the company's important mission statement.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Nintendo has said that Switch 2's eShop won't have any theme music, just like the first Switch didn't, as a result of not wanting to disrupt the user experience. In an interview with Polygon, Switch 2 producer Kouichi Kawamoto said, "Unlike back then, the eShop now has lots of videos that are showcasing the games." Before the Switch, systems like Wii and Wii U had music themes playing as users browsed their respective eShops. "We didn’t want to intrude on that, so we don’t have music there."Kawamoto added that he wanted to make sure that browsing the Switch 2 eShop was a smooth experience, that the list doesn't stall, and that pages load fast. Due to those factors, the eShop won't have any theme music.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The series adapts the popular manga of the same name, which follows Japanese high school students Momo and Okarun. Both investigate paranormal phenomena, though they don't see eye to eye. Momo believes in ghosts but doesn't think aliens are real, while Okarun believes in aliens but not ghosts. Naturally, they soon discover that ghosts and aliens are both very real and very dangerous. Fortunately, both gain supernatural abilities to use against the paranormal forces threatening their world. The anime is produced by Science Saru--the same studio behind the recent Scott Pilgrim Takes Off animated series--and the animation does justice to mangaka Yukinobu Tatsu's original art. While the upcoming Blu-ray release will be a great way to revisit the story so far, the original manga series is also available for those who want to experience the source material, or who don't feel like waiting until the next seasons to see what happens next. So far, 12 volumes have been translated into English and are on sale now at Amazon, while Volumes 13, 14, and 15 are all planned to release later in 2025 and are available for preorder.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Blue Prince from Dogubomb and Raw Fury has emerged as the highest-rated game of 2025 thus far on GameSpot sister site Metacritic. In Blue Prince, players explore a manor with shifting rooms. In practice, players must navigate this manor, solving the puzzles within each room before deciding which one to go into next. It has a roguelike structure, so the rooms within the manor reset each day and can slowly be upgraded over time depending on the player's actions. You might not have heard of Blue Prince before because it's an indie first-person puzzle game. That said, critics love its experimental structure and are heaping it with praise. "Blue Prince is one of the most memorable video game experiences I have ever had," GameSpot's Steve Watts wrote in a glowing review. "It is at once accessible and impenetrable, frustrating and euphoric. Like each of my dozens of permutations of the Mount Holly manor house itself, it is truly one of a kind."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Leave it to Nintendo to attempt to keep game file sizes from growing too large in an age of titles taking up over 100GB of storage space on consoles. A few first-party Switch 2 games apparently won't even top 10GB, with Mario Kart World the only listed title so far racing past the 20GB mark. The digital Nintendo Store for the US hasn't listed Switch 2 games yet but apparently the Japanese storefront has (via IGN). The site reportedly lists four Switch 2 titles so far, along with the space taken by the Nintendo GameCube app for Switch Online + Expansion Pack premium members.Mario Kart World - 23.4GBDonkey Kong Bananza - 10GBSuper Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - 7.7GBKirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - 5.7GBNintendo GameCube app - 3.5GB Switch 2 will feature 256GB of internal storage space, with the ability to increase the size with microSD Express cards. That means Mario Kart World--if bought digitally--will take up just under 10% of the built-in storage for the hybrid system. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2077 will fit on a 64GB physical Switch 2 game card, so presumably will take up similar space digitally. Nintendo has also revealed Game-Key Cards that work similarly to physical cards but don't have the game stored locally on them. Instead, they work as a way to download a title but still must be inserted into Switch 2 to play.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

From Software has two known games in development currently--with one set to be released very soon--and both of them are built around a core multiplayer experience. Elden Ring: Nightreign offers a co-op souls-like adventure, while Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods is heavily focused on PvPvE gameplay. This has raised some concern amongst From Software fans that the studio will develop more multiplayer games in the future, but From Software boss and Duskbloods director Hidetaka Miyazaki says that the developer isn't shifting exclusively to online multiplayer games. "As previously mentioned, this is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn’t mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward," Miyazaki said in a Nintendo interview. "The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring was also announced, and we still intend to actively develop single-player-focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style."Miyazaki also spoke more about the setting, characters, and themes of The Duskbloods, explaining how players will control a group of characters known as the Bloodsworn. Starring a group of superhuman warriors that are similar to vampires, Miyazaki said that the game takes place during the end of human society and revolves around the Bloodsworn chasing after something known as First Blood. The Duskbloods--which was originally pitched for the Switch--will launch for Switch 2 in 2026.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With Season 2 of HBO's The Last of Us premiering next week, fans have speculated how much of the second game's story will be covered. We know the timeline won't be completely linear to the game, and with the sequel's actual gameplay length, there's only so much room in a single season. It's been theorized that there might be room for at least one more season of the show, but what if there were more game material to adapt?Talking to Variety, showrunner Craig Mazin explained that they'll need more than this upcoming season to tell the whole story that Neil Druckmann told in the games. However, the thought of spin-off potential has crossed his mind, even if he's not the one running the show."As far as additional source material, as a fan of The Last of Us, if Neil has more games, I would love it,” Mazin said. "For me as a writer and showrunner, this is my Last of Us. So this will be the last of my Last of Us, covering the events of the first and second game."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
