Ubisoft has released Title Update 1.2.0 for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which adds numerous in-game improvements including a weapon and armor transmog feature that fans have been requesting since launch. I'm happy it's finally here but I'm not thrilled by how it's been implemented. The Assassin's Creed franchise shift towards RPG loot became fully realized in 2017's Origins, a system that was refined upon in 2018's Odyssey and finally feels in a fairly good place in 2020's Valhalla. In all three games, you're always chasing better loot in order to become stronger, allowing you to survive during higher level side quests and campaign missions. But who cares about how powerful you are if you can't look good while doing it?Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There's a lot to address in Season 3 of Mayans MC, which returns to FX on March 16. Not only has the death of Dita (Ada Maris) rattled a number of characters and relationships on the series, but EZ's (JD Pardo) status within the Mayans club has changed. In the first two seasons of the series, he was merely a prospective member. Now, as a full-patch member of the gang, he's gaining status."It changes [the dynamic] drastically because now he's a part of the conversation," Pardo told GameSpot. "You know, he's at the table. He's a part of the decision making process. His relationship has changed with all the other brothers. He's a brother. He's considered part of the family. So there's a comfort that comes with that. There's a settling in that comes with that, you know? It's like when you're trying out to make a team, you're on edge. And once you make the team, you feel like you can relax a little bit. And I think that can speak to EZ's journey, and Season 3 is that. He's starting to get comfortable, he's starting to relax."Of course, being at the table and being part of the conversation is going to change his relationship with one character more than any other; his brother, Angel (Clayton Cardenas). However, that's not a bad thing.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The next movie in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series will be a direct sequel to the classic 1974 original. Producer Fede Alvarez has confirmed that the film, which is expected later this year, will feature an older version of iconic chainsaw-wielding villain Leatherface. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting's Boo Crew Podcast, Alvarez explained that the new Texas Chainsaw film will be set many years after the events of Tobe Hooper's original. "It is a direct sequel, and it is the same character. It is old man Leatherface," he said.Alvarez went on to tease a few more details about the movie, comparing it to the approach he took with his 2013 remake of The Evil Dead. “Everything is classic, old school gags," he said. "A lot of the approach that we had with Evil Dead--never VFX, to do everything on camera. It's a very old school approach to filmmaking. Vintage lenses… it's very similar to the original film."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Peacock has announced a 10-episode order for Poker Face, a new hour-long mystery series from Rian Johnson (Knives Out, Star Wars: The Last Jedi). Poker Face will be Johnson's first television series.Given Johnson's financial and critical success with the 2019 whodunit Knives Out, and the director's pre-COVID stated intentions of developing a follow-up that would have Daniel Craig's detective Benoit Blanc solving another murder, it's not a shock to learn Johnson is feeling inspired by the genre. Beyond Johnson's involvement, all that's known so far is that Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll, Orange is the New Black) will star."I'm very excited to dig into the type of fun, character driven, case-of-the-week mystery goodness I grew up watching.
