Hearthstone's Forged in the Barrens expansion is coming soon, and Blizzard is in the midst of a lightning-fast reveal season for the new cards coming in the set. GameSpot has its own card to reveal: the cult leader Death Speaker Blackthorn, a Demon Hunter Legendary minion."As the leader of the Death’s Head cult, he seeks to resurrect the lich Amnennar by any means necessary. Only death can fuel death. He summons Deathrattle minions from your deck, so make sure you have enough bodies to fuel the ritual."This isn't the first Demon Hunter card we've seen with Deathrattle synergy. Another card, the Demon Hunter rare card Razorfin Beastmaster, summons a Deathrattle minion from your hand. Death Speaker Blackthorn could conceivably summon Razorfin, who then summons yet another Deathrattle minion. With enough Deathrattle minions in your deck and hand, you could create a cascading series of bodies that keep summoning more onto the board.Forged in the Barrens is coming March 30, and that date will also mark the start of the Year of the Gryphon. It will add another 135 cards to the set, as some others cycle out of play to start the new year. Blizzard is taking a different approach this year, though, with the addition of a new Core set that will replace the Basic and Classic card sets. This more-curated approach will rotate yearly, and allows Blizzard to pick cards from all of its previous expansions to suit the coming year.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

HBO Asia has reported its HBO GO service has experienced "an unprecedented surge in traffic for the exclusive premiere of Zack Snyder's Justice League," apparently crashing the platform in the region. The outage was self-reported on Facebook earlier on March 18, which is, of course, the long anticipated release date for the director's four-hour redux realizing his original vision for Justice League. After an outage that lasted roughly two hours, HBO Asia again reported on Facebook that "service has resumed," along with expressing gratitude to audiences for being patient. As Variety reported last year, WarnerMedia's HBO GO streaming service has been actively expanding deeper into Asian markets, with a particular focus on mid-sized markets like Taiwan and the Philippines. It's unclear from the Facebook posts which regions were affected, and whether customers were only unable to access Justice League or the service overall. Multiple Facebook comments on both posts mentioned above report running into "timeout" and "bad gateways" errors--but as Tim Keel points out in one comment, "It's a server overload. [HBO is] not freaking running on NASA super servers."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In today's Square Enix showcase, the publisher revealed Life is Strange: True Colors, the third mainline game in the acclaimed narrative adventure series. Like previous Life is Strange protagonists, Alex has a secret supernatural power: the psychic power of Empathy, which allows her to experience, absorb, and manipulate the emotions of others. Publisher Square Enix has revealed Life Is Strange: True Colors, the next game in its supernatural-focused, choice-driven series, will launch on September 10 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Stadia. The game is being developed by Deck Nine.If patterns are anything to go by, True Colors is likely not a new mainline entry for Life Is Strange. It's probably more like Before The Storm, also developed by Deck Nine and released in between Dontnod Entertainment's Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange 2. Game director Zak Garriss said that True Colors began development in 2017, so Deck Nine has been working on it since the release of Before The Storm."At its heart, this is a game about empathy--about how we connect to each other," Garriss said. "The story is driven by a complex mystery, with supernatural elements all brought to life by an incredible cast."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Life Is Strange: True Colors is set to launch September 10. Publisher Square Enix and developer Deck Nine have revealed that the upcoming choice-driven game will abandon the episodic release schedule used for the first three Life Is Strange games.Musician mxmtoon (who provides the vocal performances for when protagonist Alex Chen sings) said that True Colors will still be divided into individual episodes like the previous games, you're just now getting the full package all at once. True Colors will be five episodes long.Personally, I think this is great. Life Is Strange's episodic release schedule always felt strange to me. Episodes weren't releasing on a weekly basis like a TV show (a storytelling strategy that games like Fortnite and Apex Legends occasionally employ to great effect) so they didn't produce that same kind of drive to tune in, see what's new, and finish an episode in order to join in on the weekly conversation with friends and coworkers.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Like the previous three Life Is Strange games, True Colors is a very choice-heavy, story-driven game. Among those choices is the option to romance one of two characters, one of which is a familiar face from Life Is Strange: Before The Storm's Steph. On her first day in Haven Springs, protagonist Alex Chen meets several folks in her brother Gabe's life, including Ryan and Steph, both of whom can become good friends with Alex. But if you play your cards right, Alex can romance either one of them. We've never seen Ryan before; he's a new character for Life Is Strange. In the trailer for True Colors, Gabe describes Ryan as his best friend and we see Ryan aiding Alex in her investigation into her brother's death, so he seems like a decent enough chap.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
