Dozens of games were in the spotlight during the Triple-I Initiative showcase, and one of the interesting titles shown off was a creepy horror game called No, I'm Not Human. Developed by Trioskaz--who previously made Violent Horror Stories: Anthology--the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have been replaced by strange creatures who have assumed their identities. While you aren't one of them, you will have to use your wits and observation skills to figure out if you're dealing with a real person or one of these mysterious monsters, as they'll be banging on the door of your stronghold in an attempt to get inside. The future of the human race lies with you, as you'll have the option to save or turn away people from your bunker. Some of the scenarios revealed in the trailer include people with misshapen faces, strange mannerisms, and a complete obliviousness to the exotic insects crawling out of their ears--behaviors that you don't often see in people. Are they the real deal or is there something sus about them? You'll have to figure that out for yourself, but if you want to be completely paranoid, you can turn everyone away from your home and see how that works out for you with the game's ending. No, I'm Not Human will be released on PC in Q3 2025.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A icy, post-apocalyptic wasteland and a "life-sustaining" train may evoke Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho's film Snowpiercer, but it's also the premise of developer FakeFish's newly revealed FPS survival game, Frostrail. In Frostrail, up to four "pilgrims" will cooperate to survive a frozen apocalypse by gathering vital resources and combating "horrifying abominations," according to a press release. At the heart of the experience is the Eden Engine, a train that serves as players' home base as well as a mobile fortress against both monsters and mother nature. Players will need to gather items from exploring exploring underground dungeons and destroyed ruins in order to craft new tools, weapons, and equipment, all the while battling monsters and surviving the inhospitable cold. Frostrail's reveal trailer highlights the game's weapon crafting, item scavenging, and FPS battles while giving a glimpse at the harsh locales and supernatural foes players will be forced to contend with.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Having made its name with martial arts-based action games Absolver and Sifu, few might have expected Sloclap's next game would be Rematch, an online five-a-side soccer game. After all, while the beautiful game is a beloved pastime and global phenomenon, its representation in video games has long been dominated by the EA FC series (formerly known as FIFA), to the extent that it becomes difficult to consider an alternative. But Rematch has one very key difference that I learned during my visit to the studio's Paris office. Where many soccer sims have you in control of a whole team, changing to players closest to where the ball is, Rematch can be better described as a "soccer-player sim" where, in its third-person perspective, the camera is down at pitch level behind your player for the duration of the six-minute match. That also meant that for this hands-on, I was playing with other journalists as my teammates, just like a real game of soccer.Rematch is a cooperative game that encourages you to work together. In explaining the concept, creative director Pierre Tarno speaks of Rematch less in terms of soccer but rather with reference to other genres, such as a third-person action game or even a third-person shooter, since shooting the ball also involves aiming a crosshair with the right stick and squeezing the right trigger. Yet while it's set 40 years in a much more optimistic future, where AR technology can transform the "cages" you play into different environments--from stadiums to rainforests, underwater, or even outer space--the gameplay remains fundamentally real soccer rather than soccer with over-the-top abilities you might expect from Mario Strikers.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Katana Zero developer Askiisoft has revealed that its DLC is still in the works and is still free--even if it has been six years since the game's release. As a part of the Triple-I Initiative showcase, Askiisoft released a brand new gameplay trailer. While it's light on details, there seems to be something, or someone, involved called the Seventh Angel. Despite the DLC being free, fans are commenting that they'd happily pay for it since its development has taken so long. So far, there's still no release date for the DLC.The last update about the DLC was back in March 2021, when the developer said that its initial scope grew six-fold, making it less like DLC and more like Katana Zero 1.5. Limited Run Games even announced plans for a physical copy of the game back in 2020, but those haven't come to fruition yet.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fast food joint Popeye's Chicken is joining the Fortnite metaverse this weekend--From April 11-13, the well-liked Murder Mystery Creative island will be home to a new Popeye's restaurant in which players must survive against one of their own who's secretly a murderer. Those who play Murder Mystery in the Popeye's restaurant can earn free Popeye's loot by taking a screenshot of themselves in the digital restaurant and tweeting the pic at the official Popeye's account. The digital Popeye's restaurant you can solve a murder in starting April 11.Officially, the contest is to take a screenshot of yourself wearing the Big Dill skin from the current season's battle pass--but it's not actually required, since you have to buy the battle pass to get that skin. After tweeting the pic at the Popeye's account using the hashtag #PopeyesPickleQuestCoupon, you'll receive a code for some unspecified real-world reward. The whole effort is to promote Popeye's new Pickle Menu--and with a pickle skin on the current Fortnite battle pass, apparently the powers-that-be at the restaurant decided a little cross-promotion was in order. This is not, however, a true collaboration between Fortnite and Popeye's--Epic has avoided collaborating with any real food brands, since Fortnite has a large audience of children. But Fortnite Creative, which is a bit of a Wild West situation that allows any Fortnite user to make just about any kind of game experience, gives brands like Popeye's the chance to advertise in Epic's metaverse without dealing directly with Epic.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Stephen King fans can get a terrific deal on his latest novel at Amazon. The hardcover edition of Never Flinch is available to preorder for $22.40 (was $32) ahead of its May 27 release. Never Flinch is King's first full-length novel since September 2023. Considering King has published 65-plus novels and counting, the nearly two-year gap could be described as a "long wait." That said, King released a terrific short story collection last May, so it's not as if fans such as myself haven't had new King stories to read. If you've enjoyed King's turn to dark crime fiction over the past decade, Never Flinch sounds like another exciting ride. Get preorder deal at Amazon After checking out Amazon's preorder deal for Never Flinch, you should take a look at some of the other upcoming books from the modern master of horror, which we've detailed below. Never Flinch by Stephen King (Hardcover) $22.40 (was $32) | Releases May 27 King's new novel has two main story threads that will intersect as you make your way through the 448-page hardcover. Set in a fictional town called Buckeye City, Never Flinch's high concept plot is kicked into motion by a letter sent to the police department from an unknown man. The letter writer vows to kill 13 innocent people and one guilty person, which he claims is a response to a separate death of an innocent man.Detective Izzy Jaynes is tasked with investigating the threat. King's new protagonist will receive assistance from a private investigator who will be very familiar to constant readers: Holly Gibney.Holly is the link that ties the intersecting stories of Never Flinch together. During the investigation to find the letter writer, Holly is hired as a bodyguard for Kate McKay, a woman's rights activist who is being stalked while on a national speaking tour.Never Flinch will be the seventh Stephen King book featuring Holly Gibney. King has referred to Gibney as one of his favorite characters, so she could very well turn up in future books, too. Knowing Holly's backstory will probably enhance your reading experience, but Never Flinch is a standalone novel. Preorder at Amazon Stephen King Books featuring Holly Gibney Holly, Bill Hodges Trilogy, The Outsider, and If It Bleeds Mr. Mercedes: Bill Hodges 1 (Paperback) -- $11 ($19)Finders Keepers: Bill Hodges 2 (Paperback) -- $12.58 ($19)End of Watch: Bill Hodges 3 (Paperback) -- $11 ($19)Bill Hodges Trilogy Box Set (Hardcover) -- $56 ($96)The Outsider (Paperback) -- $11.86 ($19)If It Bleeds (Paperback) -- $14.90 ($18)Holly (Paperback) -- $10 ($20)Even though you don't technically need to read any of the other King novels featuring Holly Gibney, all of them are great and well-worth your time. If you only have time to read one before Never Flinch's release, I'd recommend the most recent thriller, which is simply titled Holly (2023).King does an admirable job filling the reader in on Holly's earlier adventures in this novel. This is great for newcomers, but keep in mind that if you plan on reading all of them, you'll want to go in chronological order to avoid having prior stories spoiled. The 2023 novel is the first and only full-length King novel where Holly is the sole main protagonist. It follows her investigation into mysterious disappearances in a quiet Midwestern town.Holly Gibney first appeared in Mr. Mercedes (2014), Book 1 in King's Bill Hodges Trilogy starring a retired police officer. of the same name. Holly's presence increased in the two sequels, Finders Keepers (2015) and End of Watch (2016).The private investigator also played a crucial supporting role in The Outsider (2018), a supernatural horror novel that was adapted into a pretty good HBO series. She's also the main character in the title novella in King's story collection If It Bleeds (2020). See all Holly Gibney books Stephen King upcoming book releases in 2025Another all-new book that should be on the radar of longtime King readers is The End of the World As We Know It: New Tales of Stephen King's The Stand. Releasing August 19, this anthology features stories by dozens of contemporary authors set in the same world as King's longest and arguably best novel. King wrote the introduction for this 800-page doorstopper. If you want to refresh your memory ahead of its release, Amazon has the excellent hardcover edition of The Stand for 50% off right now.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
