You never want to be attacked by a ninja in your gaming chair without a weapon to defend yourself. Lenovo has the solution for that with a very-limited katana-equipped gaming chair. No longer will you have to worry, as you'll be able to parry your attacker while getting Play of the Game as Winston. Well, that's provided you actually win one of the chairs.Only available to five lucky people in a drawing through Lenovo in Japan, the "Devil's Blade" chair features a replica katana along with a sheath, as well as a backing design based on the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. It's a customized version of an existing chair and Lenovo doesn't have any plans to sell it once the giveaway has completed. That's probably for the best, lest too many people become katana masters."While you played Overwatch, I studied the blade." It has a nice ring to it.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fall Guys is adding more than just new costumes and stages for the start of Season 4; it's also introducing Squads mode, and the new team-based option will let even the clumsiest players stay in the game if their teammates are able to keep it together.Speaking to IGN, lead game designer Joe Walsh (far cooler than the Eagles lead guitarist), said that if one player is eliminated during a round, they'll still be able to come back if their teammates perform well enough. It isn't necessarily about just dying first, but scoring the lowest as a team. A points system will determine who did the worst, which should also make it so being simply the best player doesn't necessarily mean your team will be the best. You'll also be more encouraged to sabotage other players, especially if you have more people left as you're approaching the finish in a Final Round. Two players can sacrifice themselves to knock out the other team while the remaining player cruises to victory, for instance.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Video games can run on pretty much anything these days, including a font. Yes, why choose Calibri when you can choose a fully playable take on Pokemon, instead?. We don't know why someone decided to do this, but the results are marvelous and very, very strange.Fontemon is available to play for free in your web browser, but you can also install it on your computer's word processor, an image editor, a code editor, and basically anywhere else that allows for fonts. From the web font player version, all you have to do is starting typing and the introduction sequence will begin. If you want to go back, you can delete text you've written and jump to an earlier point. Holding down the space bar also works to just keep the game moving.Just like at the beginning of each Pokemon game, you can select a starter monster, requiring you to hit a specific key, and then you're automatically sent to the first gym and begin a battle against the leader. Again, you use specific keys here to give your monster commands, but, at least in our game, things started to get very weird at this point. We don't want to spoil anything, but Fontemon isn't what it appears to be at first glance. Check out a video demonstrating the game from River's Educational Channel below.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Anyone who comes away from Yakuza: Like a Dragon will have a strong impression of lead character Kasuga Ichiban. Love him or not, he drives the tone and perspective for an earnest story about living on the margins, loyalty to loved ones, and just being an adult trying to make something of themselves. He's quite a far cry from the stoic, but lovable Kazuma Kiryu who we grew to know and love through seven previous entries in the series--and I think that speaks to developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's ability to create layered, expressive characters who drive its dramatic, hilarious, yet sobering stories.Masayoshi Yokoyama, chief producer and writer, has been at the forefront of Yakuza's storytelling, and I was able to exchange with him via email through a translator to dissect what went into Yakuza: Like a Dragon in particular. As with any game, a slew of factors go into its creation, and he provided insight into the move to making an RPG, conveying new narrative themes, and what the future holds for the Yakuza franchise. (Hint: It may not come as much of a surprise, but there is another Yakuza game currently in development.)The following interview was edited for clarity and readability--it also contains spoilers for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, so beware.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ever since the Fortnite Zero Crisis Finale debuted with the launch of Fortnite Season 6, fans have been wondering who is voicing The Foundation. It appears that wrestling and acting superstar The Rock might be behind the microphone. Epic Games has remained tight-lipped on it, and since this is Fortnite, it seemed unlikely that the answer wouldn't be special. Now fans have accumulated a pile of evidence that convincingly suggests it's in fact Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson behind that metallic suit of armor.Epic won't share who voiced the Foundation with me, and that's really interesting - because they have never hesitated to share voice talent before. Not once.Clearly the Foundation's voice actor is important to the lore. — ben (@bnwkr) March 18, 2021Most compelling is an Instagram video posted by The Rock himself on March 16, the day of the Zero Crisis Finale. In it, he talks somewhat vaguely about the day being "big" in a "certain world and in a certain culture" that is connected to his own. He says the hard work he's done has all been to "strengthen, evolve, and grow the force known as...the foundation" before delivering his signature raised eyebrow. Donald Mustard, Epic Games' CCO, even liked the Instagram video.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Gotham Knights, a spinoff of the Batman series starring a younger roster of characters, has been delayed in 2022. Warner Bros. shared the news on Twitter today, confirming it will not hit before the end of the year, as previously announced. The delay is due to a need for additional development time, although WB did not get into specifics or attribute the move to COVID-19, as has been the case with numerous other delays."We are giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players. We look forward to showcasing more of the game in the coming months," Warner Bros. said in the statement.pic.twitter.com/O1U4T0gK3u — Gotham Knights (@GothamKnights) March 19, 2021This is the second high-profile WB game to be delayed to 2022, as WB previously shifted the open-world Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy to next year as well. In the case of Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy, WB did not mention the pandemic having an impact on development.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Dr. Naji Abumrad told The Washington Post, "Without a doubt in my mind, her funding made the research toward the vaccine go 10 times faster than it would be without it." Parton didn't wait long into the pandemic to make the donation, either--as she tweeted on April 1, 2020: "I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Bunny Day is just around the corner again in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Nintendo has made some tweaks to this year's event. The holiday itself falls on April 4, but just as last year, eggs will appear around your island in the days leading up to it. Fortunately, they won't be around for nearly as long.As Nintendo detailed in a post on Switch's News channel, this year's Bunny Day will only run from March 28 to April 4. That's much shorter than last year's event, which ran for nearly two full weeks, from April 1-12. Players were quick to share their frustrations about Bunny Day across social media at the time, taking issue not only with poor Zipper T. Bunny (who is just doing his job), but also the prevalence of eggs. The eggs in particular were a common cause for complaint. Throughout the event, different types of eggs would be hidden in trees, rocks, the ground, and the ocean and river. These could be used to craft special Bunny Day furniture, but the problem was they spawned much too frequently, making it difficult to dig up fossils or catch fish without being inundated with eggs.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Developer CD Projekt Red has detailed what's in Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077, which makes some changes like letting players rebind keys and reducing NCPD's response time. One of the bigger adjustments is key rebinding. This specifically targets dodging, which is tied to double-tapping the movement action key. With Patch 1.2, players can turn that "dodging on movement" toggle off while still allowing the dodge to be performed by double-tapping the crouch key. On top of this, PC players can now rebind WASD to other spots on the keyboard. Tools programmer Wojtek Pankowski noted that though some key bindings "need to be addressed," these fixes should appear in upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 patches.Another tweak in Patch 1.2 is delaying the NCPD's response time. Previously, cops would seemingly appear out of thin air when players committed a crime like shooting a civilian. Now, to give the impression that cops take a while to appear at a crime scene after it's been reported, NCPD officers will respond in a staggered manner. There's also a new recon drone to present a feeling that the police are assessing a situation to determine how to respond.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Epic Games has released a new Fortnite patch across all platforms today, addressing issues fans may have bumped into since Fortnite kicked off its latest season. Fortunately for battle royale players, these issues shouldn't have affected you. They only apply to the Creative mode. The list of fixes is a short one, but fans in Twitter replies seemed thankful nonetheless since it's been some time since Fortnite issued actual patch notes anywhere. Typically, Epic prefers to hide its many secrets for fans to find on their own. This patch addresses:✅Missing textures in some galleries in Creative mode.✅Unable to drop specific stacks of materials or ammo in Creative mode. Please note that you will need to replace props with missing textures already placed in Creative islands. — Fortnite Status (@FortniteStatus) March 19, 2021We can probably expect another patch focused on Battle Royale in the days ahead. Players have reported issues unlocking the various Anomaly puzzles, such as the Lazy Lake Anomaly and the Catty Corner Anomaly. Prompts have been missing which means players have had to retry them in later rounds.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Echo Night Games has released a new update for Signs of the Sojourner, just in time for the game's launch on consoles. The update adds five new characters to the game.In a Steam blog post, Echo Night teases that the new characters will be a mysterious stranger, a caravaneer, a grumpy neighbor, a community organizer, and someone fighting to save their town. No further clues beyond that, and given the nature of Signs of the Sojourner, it's very easy to accidentally miss folks in the story. So you may need to replay the game once or twice to see all five new characters.Personally, I'm thrilled to have any excuse for jumping back into Signs of the Sojourner for another playthrough, now that it's also available for PS4, Switch, and Xbox One (as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility). Signs of the Sojourner was my Editor's Spotlight for 2020--it's one of the most intriguing games I've ever played, relying on deckbuilding to emulate conversations, code-switching, and cultural differences.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Simpsons marks a monumental milestone this weekend with its 700th episode in its 32nd season, and executive producer Al Jean recently told Variety he's not sure if he's bullish about the long-running series hitting its 1,000th episode. Earlier this month, The Simpsons got renewed for its 33rd and 34th seasons, meaning the animated comedy will now run through to 2023."We're going to definitely do 757," said executive producer Al Jean, referencing what the series is currently contractually on the hook for. "I wouldn't say that's the end, but I don't know how much further we can go."For fairweather fans, it may be something of a shock to learn that the series has not already produced a thousand episodes--a feat that Jean says would take The Simpsons another 12 years to accomplish. But, keenly aware of how many animated '90s shows that started parallel to the Fox series, have gone off the air, and are now being revived (Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill, Rugrats, etc.), Jean says, "As soon as they cancel us, they'll reboot us. I'm confident, after I'm gone, there’ll be some sort of Simpsons coming. It's too ubiquitous to think that it'll just disappear."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The upcoming Mortal Kombat movie was inspired in part by another gigantic Warner Bros. property, The Lord of the Rings. Producer Todd Garner said in an interview that the filmmakers on Mortal Kombat turned to The Lord of the Rings early on in the process of mapping out Mortal Kombat. Just like Lord of the Rings has numerous characters with their own interconnecting stories, so does Mortal Kombat. "When we really researched all of the lore and fantasy and rules and mythology to Mortal Kombat, we really looked at it like Lord of the Rings," Garner said, as reported by GamesRadar. He added: "[Creators] John [Tobias] and Ed [Boon] have created this tone that's so thick and complex and amazing in terms of all the crazy, different characters--you have ninjas, and you have soldiers of fortune, and you've got clones and aliens and ex-police officers. There's so many different characters. The challenge, then, is: how do you bring them all together?"Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
