The prominent streamer and content creator Jack "CouRage" Dunlop tweeted that the much-delayed Halo Infinite should have a battle royale mode recently, and it's led to a lot of discussion on social media. In the tweet, Dunlop said that while Halo is his "favorite game series of all time," he feels that if Halo Infinite doesn't include a "robust and well-made" battle royale mode, it would be one of "the greatest gaming failures in history."Though his claim seems to be intentionally hyperbolic, it inspired passionate reactions from Halo fans and industry figures alike. Many replies agreed with Dunlop's tweet, but some accused Dunlop of asking Halo developer 343 Industries to prioritize a hypothetical battle royale mode over the game's traditional multiplayer, which they view as the core of the Halo experience. Esports videographer Davis "Hitch" Edwards replied to the tweet, saying the following: "[Battle royales] are necessary for shooter games to blow up. Just how it is."@Halo I’ve played Halo since 2005. It’s my favorite game series of all-time.If Halo Infinite doesn’t release with a robust and well made Battle Royale game mode, then it will be one of the greatest gaming failures in history.Have a good day. — Jack “CouRage†Dunlop (@CouRageJD) March 7, 2021BRs are necessary for shooter games to blow up. just how it is. — OpTic Hitch (@hitchariide) March 8, 2021Dunlop defended himself against such retorts, saying that since Halo Infinite has been in development for "six years," fans should be able to expect both traditional multiplayer and a battle royale mode. However, though it's been six years since the release of Halo 5, it's worth noting we don't actually know how long Halo Infinite has been in development.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The studio says that a fix is incoming, but until then you Guardians can have fun bending the rules a little. In the weekly Bungie update, the studio says it's glad players are enjoying themselves and it's fine to try it out. But at the same time, it warns that you could run into bugs since the raids weren't designed for "a clown car of Guardians.""The big buzz around the community this week has been players finding out a way to cram four fireteams in activities meant for one," the studio stated. "We've been watching the 12-player raid hype and are glad you’re enjoying yourselves. We aren't rushing out a fix for this and it's totally fine if you want to try it out and have some fun. Director Zack Snyder is continuing to release teaser videos for his upcoming cut of Justice League, so far maintaining the pace of one new quick look at a different superhero per day. On the heels of last week's videos of Batman and Superman, Snyder has recently tweeted videos of Aquaman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman--each clocking in at just under a minute. Wonder Woman's trailer, it should be pointed out, has been published on International Women's Day, March 8. The four-hour epic will arrive in theaters on HBO Max on March 18.With a total of five of these videos now out, a clear recurring theme in each of them are the hardships, opportunities, and complications each hero faces in forming and protecting an alliance among superheroes. Where Superman's more showcased his infamous black suit and Batman's hinted at his desire to bring more unity to the land, these three newcomers hit much harder on each hero's desire to overcome their fears about a world being worse off without them stepping up. Check them out below."We have no fear!" #WonderWoman #SnyderCut #InternationalWomensDay pic.twitter.com/IDXM9WtTZr — Zack Snyder's Justice League (@snydercut) March 8, 2021“You can be whatever you want to be.†#TheFlash #SnyderCut pic.twitter.com/YnW9YvNxt1 — Zack Snyder's Justice League (@snydercut) March 7, 2021“You can’t turn your back on the world forever.†#Aquaman #SnyderCut pic.twitter.com/VARwfJIrbV — Zack Snyder's Justice League (@snydercut) March 6, 2021Given the expansive roster of characters in Snyder's cut of Justice League, it would be safe to assume we will likely be seeing more of these in the run up to March 18. Similarly, fans would likely be best advised to pace themselves when it comes to expectations of what the four-hour epic will all entail--Snyder recently revealed that his version of Justice League will end on a cliffhanger. Snyder has said he's made peace with the fact that the film's loose threads will likely never be properly addressed, but he's also said there are multiple theatrical and home releases planned for the DC movie--including a black and white IMAX version.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Peacock is sharing more details about how it will integrate WWE's content later this month when the WWE Network officially becomes part of the NBCUniversal streaming service. As announced back in January, and confirmed in a recent release with the exact timeline, Peacock will begin rolling out WWE Network content on March 18. The streaming service has also launched a landing page for the WWE Network. While the landing page is as of this writing largely an FAQ about what will be available and when, the accompanying release indicates after launch it (and its counterpart on supported devices) will function as a portal "where fans can browse and access every PPV event in the last calendar year" and a wide variety of programming that includes "current or most recent season episodes of WWE original series Steve Austin’s The Broken Skull Sessions" plus "groundbreaking documentaries, including Undertaker: The Last Ride, WWE 24, and WWE Untold."If you're a fan and haven't yet made the switch, there are two crucial things to note. The first is that the WWE will sunset the existing standalone WWE Network app in the United States on April 4. The other is the March 18 rollout of WWE Network on Peacock means there's a short runway to get in and set up before Fastlane--the first WWE pay-per-view event on the service--is available to stream on March 21.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Since at least 2017, so much has been theorized, predicted, and argued about among critics and fans alike about what could have been with Zack Snyder's fabled director's cut of Justice League that it can be easy to forget there's a fair amount we actually already know about the upcoming DC film. As its likelihood has progressed from a remote possibility to a sure thing to now an around-the-corner four-hour epic that will arrive in theaters on HBO Max on March 18, both the streaming service and director have released a treasure trove of promo videos, teasers, and clips that will give viewers a pretty good idea of what to expect--here, we've scooped up everything that's been floating around so far. What follows is a series of clips of varying length, working backwards chronologically from some short character trailers that have been released daily and will likely continue in the coming days. The most recent video is a Wonder Woman trailer, which, it should be pointed out, has been published on International Women's Day, March 8. These clips do more than showcase costumes--in under a minute, each teaser strongly demonstrates how the character in the spotlight brings something different to the proverbial table when forming and protecting an alliance among superheroes. Halo's transmedia boss Kiki Wolfkill has shared a few small updates on the long-in-development Halo TV show. Speaking to IGN, Wolfkill said the Halo franchise as an FPS is limited in terms of its storytelling opportunity since the main storyline focuses on one character: Master Chief. But with the TV show, there is an opportunity to widen the franchise and look at more characters and plot points. The steps that Microsoft is taking with the Halo TV show may not please everyone, Wolfkill also acknowledged in the interview."In a first-person shooter, there is only so much of a character journey because of that wanting to maintain some of that character for people to pour into him or her," she said. "So TV gives us a long form ability to really focus on character and story in a way that's harder to relay in a first-person game."Wolfkill alluded to this previously, saying the Halo TV show will be similar to Game of Thrones in terms of the "scope and scale and complexity of relationships."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
