The new AI-powered lip sync app Wombo lets you take a picture of basically anyone and have them sing along to a pop song. Historical figures and politicians are popular choices, as all you need is a fairly clear picture, but some users are making video game characters rock out, too. As you might imagine, the results are both hilarious and terrifying. Wombo doesn't just make the photo subject's mouth move. Instead, the person appears to be actually moving around in their environment, with heads bobbing and shoulders grooving from side to side. As you can see in this example from Destiny in which Zavala sings Rick Astley's classic "Never Gonna Give You Up," the results are terrifying.i'm livid that this actually worked lmao pic.twitter.com/rzoIidaytu — lady efriyeet (@miffracks) March 10, 2021Yooka-Laylee developer Playtonic got in on the fun with its own video, having the character Vendi belt out "I Will Survive."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Zack Snyder's Justice League appears to have included, likely by accident, a symbol that original appeared in the Halo series. Though unconfirmed, it appears the symbol's inclusion was the result of an artist using a fan's custom design as inspiration for logo.As pointed out by PCGamesN, the symbol visible on Deathstroke's sword in the film is supposed to be a reference to the League of Assassins, which is the organization run by Batman villain Ra's al Ghul. However, the symbol also bears a striking resemblance to an emblem that Bungie developer Christopher Barrett said he made 20 years earlier for Halo.An emblem I made twenty years ago is on Deathstroke’s sword I guess? pic.twitter.com/kbVKB5KrI5 — Christopher Barrett (@cgbarrett) March 14, 2021I still have the original illustrator file pic.twitter.com/0nRieKXHHE — Christopher Barrett (@cgbarrett) March 14, 2021It appears that a fan then modified this symbol for their own take on the League of Assassins, someone working on Zack Snyder's Justice League saw this when researching for the project, assumed it was a symbol used in official DC media, and did their own take on it for Deathstroke's sword. Deathstroke didn't make it into the theatrical cut of the film aside from a very short cameo at the end.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Mark Twain once famously said, “Buy land. They’re not making it anymore.†It held true for a century, but Twain likely didn't imagine something like Minecraft when he said it. You can generate new land with just a few clicks, and one company is convinced that people need experts to help them landscape it, as well. As spotted by CNN, a UK-based company called Whatshed is looking to hire a team of virtual landscapers who can give players advice on how to “improve their in-game outdoor space.†The company is primarily focused on offering advice on outdoor buildings like sheds and workshops, as well as greenhouses, and with the pandemic keeping so many inside, it’s likely a good portion of players have been diving deep into Minecraft for the first time.Applicants need to have experience with Minecraft already, though not necessarily with landscaping--they do need to be able to demonstrate a “passion for gardening†and the outdoors. Proficiency with shears is probably not required. Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Genshin Impact is popular. KFC is popular. Why not put them together? Unfortunately, the crossover event in China that resulted from that question attracted so many excited fans that it was forced to shut down over COVID-19 protocol violations. As reported by Kotaku, Kentucky Fried Chicken in China was holding a special promotion with Genshin Impact to award special pins to customers who yelled out to employees when purchasing food.In both the Shanhai and Hangzhou locations, the promotion had to be canceled soon after it began because of COVID-19 protocol violations. Due to the game’s huge fanbase and our collective desire to get exclusive merchandise, it’s easy to see how it could have gotten out of hand. Despite China’s relative return to normalcy--even at the virus’ starting point in Wuhan--the country is taking no chances.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Strategy game Stellaris is giving you even more ways to explore the vastness of space and control it how you see fit. The expansion Stellaris: Nemesis is out on April 15, and it gives you the power to literally end all life in the known universe.Stellaris: Nemesis features a “destabilizing galaxy,†with several paths to power and peace available to choose from. These include a role as “Galactic Custodian,†where you can persuade the powers that be to give you emergency abilities in order to restore order. It’s up to you to decide whether to relinquish these powers once the conflict is solved, and you can use new ship sets to make your fleet look particularly imposing. If you prefer something a bit more sinister, you can also become a merciless empire that can eventually “unleash enough power to stop all of existence,†which sounds like it could make for a unique endgame. You can use espionage to learn about your enemies’ secrets in order to come up with a plan, even instigating incidents to make them look bad and secretly consolidate your own power. It’s certainly a dastardly way to grow your influence, especially if your true motives aren’t discovered until it’s too late. Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

EA has temporarily disabled content granting--the ability for items to be directly given to a player's account--as it continues an investigation into potential misuse of the feature in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team by an employee for personal profit. The news comes a short time after the company started an investigation to see if one of its own employees had been granting access to rare cards in FIFA 21 to buyers online for hundreds of even thousands of dollars. The community has dubbed the scandal "EAGate," and leaked messages appear to show someone--possibly an EA employee--explaining to a buyer how they can send these items to their account for the right price.pic.twitter.com/DtclTPandl — EA SPORTS FIFA (@EASPORTSFIFA) March 10, 2021Because EA isn't sure who is behind the black market sales yet, and isn't even sure if it's actually an employee or someone who compromised an employee's account, content granting has been disabled for now.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Alex Zedra, a gun-focused Instagram model and Twitch streamer--as well as the likeness for Mara in Call of Duty: Warzone--has no love for cheaters in the game. She managed to catch two players using auto-aim tools while she was streaming, and the exposure resulted in a swift ban.Zedra hosted one of the streamers, who went by the name IcyVixen on Twitch, and she's seen popping from behind a hill and sniping an enemy almost instantly from a long distance away. For the third week in a row, Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris event has been canceled because of a technical issue. It comes as Bungie looks to curb players engaged in "win trading" by throwing matches on purpose. The issue this time is, according to Bungie, related to "Fireteam Rejoin functionality," which certainly sounds like it's the same problem as before. Trials of Osiris has been available on March 12, but it will not be available through the rest of the weekend.Due to an issue with Fireteam Rejoin functionality, Trials of Osiris has been disabled for the remainder of the weekend. We will provide updates when available. — Bungie Help (@BungieHelp) March 13, 2021Typically, it lasts for about four days, giving players the chance to get high-level gear if they can go on a flawless seven-win streak. It's for this reason that players have been throwing games, letting others have a clear path to victory. It's unclear how Bungie plans to stop this problem for good. The Golden Raspberry Awards has announced its 2020 nominees for "the worst the film industry had to offer" in a year that, let's face it, was pretty bad for filmmakers and audiences alike. While the dubious "awards" have been a Hollywood tradition since 1981 that have been increasingly criticized, this year's list demonstrates the parody accolade can also set its sights on particularly problematic productions. For example, the recently released Music, directed by singer-songwriter Sia, is a film about a newly sober drug dealer who becomes the sole guardian of her half-sister, Music, a young autistic girl. The film received massive criticism for not casting an autistic actor in the role, which is one of several reasons why Music merited nominations for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Actress, and Worst Supporting Actress.Similarly, Netflix drama 365 Days received a total of six nominations--a movie that largely received negative reviews from critics, and that was widely criticized for its portrayal of sexual violence. Dolittle, the Robert Downey Jr. vehicle that served as a reboot of the Eddie Murphy films, was a more conventional many-people-didn't-like-it selection, which also received six nominations.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A new, nasty hack might have been discovered in Call of Duty: Warzone, with cheaters apparently able to end matches instantaneously. There are two accounts of the hack being used in-game circulating on Twitter, with both showing final killcams that are usually reserved for Modern Warfare's competitive multiplayer mode. In the first clip from streamer Bisag10, it shows how a team fight is prematurely finished and the match ended once a cheater (noticeable by the otherwise illegal in-game name) dies.Hackers can now end a game of #Warzone by themselves... 🤯They’re evolving... ðŸ˜(Clip via https://t.co/IMwK4DhJCN ) pic.twitter.com/sOmcKZqJoc — ModernWarzone (@ModernWarzone) March 11, 2021In another instance, a player has a match end after encountering another cheater, even though the in-game counter clearly shows over 60 players still alive.
